LIsten, I'm no Limp Bizkit fan, but to all the haters and dissers, the fact we're here talking about Wes Borland at all says something. He has qualities to his playing that are unique and he's obviously struck a chord with enough people that we're here talking about him. If nothing else, for me at the moment, I think that Yamaha guitar he designed is super cool and unique; very unique design and specs. Would love to play one someday. That's why I'm here.
I don’t know why people hate on Limp Bizkit so much. Sure, Fred Durst was a bit of a douche at times but Wes Borland is undoubtably one of the best guitarists in history. I’ve never heard another person sound like him.
Wes Borland is so fucking dope. He is at a level of genius that most ppl don't even get. I've been playing guitar for 24 years. I fucking love metal. I started playing guitar when I was 10 and that's when I got into metal. This was because of Limp Bizkits beak stuff video on MTV. I remember being 10 yrs old saying that's Wes that's the guitar player and pointing at the TV when he would come on the screen. Into my teen years I considered myself to have "grown out of " limp Bizkit. But when they released their new record I was blown away not only at Freds maturity and conscious change in subject matter but I started to really look into, study and become fascinated with Wes Borlands guitar player. Realizing he was the guitarist of probably the most successful metal band of my generation made me realize there is a lot to learn from him. And also realizing his passion also being a visual artist, an aspect that most likely attributes greatly to the bands success. All of the bands of that genre of that time had an aggressive side but also an artistic side. Wes was that artistic side that really I believe balanced the bands image to create die hard fans. His approach to playing guitar is unlike any other guitarist. He seemingly had no desire to showboat or prove him self as the "greatest guitarists" instead he was able to make guitar parts that just made the song sound good not make himself stand out. When it comes to successful music simple is often better. That's why 90% of hit songs are the same 4 chords give or take. Looking back on Wes guitar work in the earlier albums there was a lot to learn there too and also a special nostalgia for me in enjoying their music once again. Also it made me really glad for some reason Wes and Fred being bamdmates and friends again as they highlight in the out of style video.
Barbers and guitars !! Oh and I’m sure your fit to critique guitar playing. Become a well respected guitarist and make millions of dollars and then maybe try again. I said he’s underrated. Not the best
To those who commented negatively on Wes, he is not a Randy Rhoads or EVH-type guitar player, which makes the world even better since it adds a ton of diversity to music. His rhythm playing and creative use of effects are the reason for Limp Bizkit's signature sound, regardless whether you like Fred Durst or not. Music is never about who has better chops - many 80s glam metal bands have amazing technical guitarists but their songwriting is cookie cutter material at best.
As far as I know Limp Bizkit and Nine Inch Nails aren't really tight.. quite the opposite actually. There's a video somewhere where Fred is dissing Trent or something.
Dávid Lizom Trent hates limp bizkit but he is friends with Borland. Trent tried to get Borland to play with them a while back, and he mentored his girlfriend when she was coming up in the music scene. You can see Trent is now following Borland on twitter.
If you have a tremolo unit that's floating like a Floyd rose or kahler just turn the bar facing away from the strings and slap it lightly. It's called a flutter. Theres a video where John petrucci goes into detail about it.
@@SR-pb6wf ikr it’s kinda weird how their first album was probably their best work. It seemed like they were doing there own thing instead of appealing to the mainstream.

smokinnplatez Chops are not the point. In fact they're pretty much NEVER the point. If you're holding an instrument the idea is to make music... Not any noise as long as it's at warp speed. Players like EVH and Dimebag are legendary for their tone, feel, and songs, not intimidating other musicians.
frank riley he is by far one of the most innovative and creative guitar players of my generation and also I think one of the most underrated as well.... Your looking at it in the wrong order because creativity follows aspiration and knowledge is the last to follow......
Most underrated guitarist of all time
@Brain1ndustry yea but almost no one remembers limp bizkit in this times bro
I’d say yes properly rated. Anyone who follows him knows how innovative he was
yeap
Oh man the dawn of Limp Bizkit and Tool. Those octaves. 90s metal man. Hell yea!

Total legend, no reason to hate on him because people dislike Fred Durst (which is understandable)
I love that bit with the gargles. Remember years ago it was on a free dvd with my guitar magazine. Finally found it again on the Tube :-)
This is why Limp Bizkit sounds so good
I don’t know why people hate on Limp Bizkit so much. Sure, Fred Durst was a bit of a douche at times but Wes Borland is undoubtably one of the best guitarists in history. I’ve never heard another person sound like him.
You said it yourself fred was a douche. You stand by shit you smell like shit
The goal of limp biskit is to be famous by getting hate and not love
Wes reminds me of the Edge from U2. They may not be SRV's or Gilmore's, but they're incredible melody and riff writers that play it tight.

Wes Borland's distortion sounds so heavy and bassy! Idk which preset he uses but he is so crunchy and heavy! My godd! ❤️
I bet Line 6 *INSANE MODE*
Mesa rectifiers in the old days. Now he uses the EVH 5150 amps.
Real guitarists using real amps.
That riff at the beginning is monstrous
They used the riff in the song run to the barricade eventually
@@sugarshamal Results May Vary was done by Mike Smith though.
The 3 notes he played over and over?

@@stevee.oneder891 i guess mayority doesn't care how good he is, we just LOVE the way he sounds.
He isnt skilled but hes insanely creative and talented. Theres a difference between talent and skill.
Wes Borland is very good. One can learn a lot from his videos.
Amazing guitarist! Super underrated
that riff was 💯🧡🔥
Borland Claypool. Wes n' Les

Well said, and I completely agree on all points!
I RESPECT WES BORLAND GUITAR STYLE,AS MY SELF I AM SONGWRITTER...
Seems like he'd fit in perfectly with Nine Inch Nails. Surprised Trent hasn't gotten him in on anything.

Pete Agassi Oh I didn't know that. Thanks for the info!

Everyone in Bizkit is actually pretty cool, except for the rapper and DJ lethal.
Blu No Bizkit sucks ass. Wes Borland is the only redeeming thing.
Definitely an outside-the-box thinker/player. Thankfully there are people like Wes that stretch and push the boundaries.
I wish I was as good as him. He’s very talented.
needs Maynard James Keenan
That would be a sick band..those two.
Lmao Maynard described bizkit as a dollar menu at McDonald’s saying just pick and choose the repetitiveness of nu metal or something like that
Love to see him and Adam Jones collaborate
Huge influence! :) on my guitar playing. wes borland! Bad ass guitarist!
2019????????
Such a rich sound.
Thank you very much... I really appreciate it... Limpin' with the Bizkit...
