I'm a 79-year-old long-distance hiker and I have a Jazz Mk1 and I use it for car camping in the colder months, and use a one-man tent in the warmer months. I've strung elasticated cord all around the inside of my car, just above the window line. I purchased some black closely woven light 'cloth' from a garden centre, 10m for £12.99, plus some plastic clothes pegs and made some curtains, very easy to do. I have a routine, I park in a place like you to organise myself but I sleep elsewhere. I first peg my three rear curtains into place and then drive to my sleeping place, always on a housing estate on the edge of a village or town, and I only go to sleep there. Upon arrival I fit my remaining curtains. The great thing about the Mk1 is that parked along a street with other cars, no one notices me. I camp in p[lain site, I I will then usually wander of to a pub for a meal, then return, get in my 'bed' and sleep. At or just after dawn I will drive to a pre-selected nice spot and get into my morning routine.
I've just started watching your car camping VLOGS and enjoy the authenticity. Your accent is comforting and nostalgic. I live in Scotland but I was born in the North West of England 😊
I grew up in Mellor it's just up the road from Marple. I used to get the bus from Marple to Harry Town my old school.... many moons ago... Love the peak district. Was there last week, Winnets Pass, Castleton and Buxton. ... Winnets pass is just like a mini chedder gorgeous. Have car camped in Castleton Many times... its perfect like you said ...
Wow so interesting. Winnets Pass really is like a mini cheddar gorge - it’s incredible to drive down and I discovered it just by accident. Hope you had a great time last week. Do you hike? Any recommendations on great walks round there?
@GreenoidAdventure I don't hike no, but I do car camp lol I go alone, or with my partner when he's not working or sometimes take my granddaughter. We are off to Saddleworth Moor next weekend and a mooch around the villages in that area. Last week we did peighton see front free to park there and stunning, visited Torquay.. then a place on Somerset called dead womans ditch that might be work a look at for walks. It's not far from chedder gorge. We car camp all over have the best time and feel so free of every day problems. Have done almost 30k miles in 14 months.
@@lexibooandmaggietoooh wow that sounds so amazing! So cool that u take your granddaughter too. I’m gonna make a note of those places for future reference next time I’m off on an adventure. 🤣 that’s a lot of miles, bet you’ve seen so much of the country.
Hi Sarah, I live in Marple where the aqueduct is in your video, there is a very similar one in the town of Chirk which is near Oswestry and the Pontcysyllte Aquaduct if you see it it looks exactly the same as Marple with Canal and the Railway bridge at the side of it. Me and my wife Tracey have walked from the Chirk Aqueduct to the Pontcysyllte Aquaduct a good walk but very scenic, My son works in that Tesco too... Me and wife would have put kettle on for you 🍵🍵😄
You past my house near marple .. Glad you enjoyed the peak district, I love it round there... some great walks up Kinder scout and Mam tor close were you where ...
Oh really? That’s crazy. Peak District is so beautiful - I’d never really been before. I walked Mam Tor (I think) the next morning (video coming on Sunday). I haven’t heard of Kinder Scout. I’ll make a note for the next time I visit 😁 thanks for the recommendation
Thank you ☺️ Yeah living in a building site ain’t nice 😭 I thought it would be done by Easter but now I’m hoping on end of June. The end is in sight - it’s just been a very, very slow process
Looks so beautiful there, love the Peak district..... is that a slight scouse accent you have? i live in Wirral...... don't be afraid to make longer videos because i think lots of people like them longer! :-)
I haven’t really explored the Peak District but yeah it’s stunning - I will definitely be exploring there more. Yes, slight scouse accent, I’m the other side of the water bout 40 mins from Liverpool 😀 I’ll keep in mind about the longer videos. I always get a little bothered when they start to creep up to 15 minutes or so thinking that’s too long for someone to watch
@@GreenoidAdventure Personally i like them longer, but i'm sure everyone has different opinions...if i like a channel i get disappointed when the video ends!
@@twish1999 😂 yeah I gotta say I agree - I love a long video that I can just put on and idly watch whilst I’m doing other stuff. Maybe I’ll mix it up a bit with some longer stuff. 😁
@@GreenoidAdventure Well the Wirral is so small you could visit all the beaches in one day...... West Kirby beach (and the walk around the lake) is beautiful where you can even walk out to the Hilbre Island depending on the times of the tides ( be careful!)....... New Brighton beach is gorgeous too, with the lighthouse and the Fort...... and of course Thurstaston Beach is gorgeous too. 🙂
@@GreenoidAdventure not to that spot yet…..we have been to 2/3 camp sites in peaks. We were so fed up with the weather we booked a last minute week to Algarve, fly back home tomorrow.😊
