Phil was really “flushed” with anger when he pushed Ian’s head down the toilet! One of my favorite ever clips from Eastenders! 3 of the characters from this clip are still in Eastenders 24 years later, Phil, Ian and Kathy.
Ha! Ha! What about Jack Abbott & Victor Newman played originally by Terry Lester (1980-1989) then Peter Bergman (1989-Present) and Eric Braeden (1980-Present). Those two have always been at loggerheads especially when it came to Jabot Cosmetics.
Ian always drew first blood as Rambo would say. Ian was always winding Phil up, grassing him up and trying to split him and Kathy up. Phil was just playing tit for tat.
Had Ian been a decent guy from the start wasn't a smug git and made an effort with Phil then I'm sure Phil wouldn't have bullied him over the years, if anything Phil would've probably looked out for him
So Ian goes to the toilet and Phil immediately follows, Ian then comes back looking visibly shaken and apologising for his behaviour... should've been a bit obvious to Kathy and Cindy what just happened in the toilets eh
+Terrycat88 I know :) That was hilarious "To Phil.. Let's start as we mean to go on" and Adam Woodyatt as Ian brilliantly looked more haunted than a spiritual medium! Pmsl...
Ian was super spoilt but why is everyone defending Phil lol. He literally made Kathys life a misery, hit her and stuck her sons head down the toilet for being moody.
4 years ago I wrote a comment saying 3 of the characters from this clip, Phil, Ian and Kathy, were still in Eastenders 24 years after the episode which featured the clip was first broadcast. Now in 2023, we can now all say 4 of the characters are still in Eastenders, with the return of Cindy, seemingly back from the dead! (She was supposed to have died in prison). As if this were not exciting enough, Ian has come back too! I loved seeing Kathy’s face when she saw Cindy for the first time in years, long believing her daughter in law had died! Now that Ian is back, will Phil give him the kind of treatment again that we saw in this clip, when Phil pushed Ian’s head down the toilet? I can not wait to find out...
"Now I've got 2 words for you, you slippery little git" 😂😂😂 also everyone stop taking it so seriously its a soap opera its called a soap opera for a reason that's because its not real they're actors!
Kind of hard to threaten someone and not have it show when you come back in ANY state besides the one you left ... he should've done a purple nurple or wedgie, that wouldn't show - but a head full of water in it, yeah, that's kinna noticeable.
😂😂phill Mitchell 5-51 playing bondy for two seconds of fixing his tye and this is the phill Mitchell i miss . Yo BBC can you release the classic EastEnders on blu ray or dvd please please.
I think Ian and Phil used to get on alright. I seen a couple of episodes on Gold when they spoke to each other. Was it to do with Phil marrying Kathy that made them enemies?
@@annoneymouse5999 I think Ian always looked down his nose and both Phil and Grant because of who they were. There was episode back in 1992 where Ian winds Phil up by saying "Most people use a pen and calculator, they (Phil and Grant) use a cosh and a knuckle-duster" and Phil gave him a mouthful then.
How did he feel when that woman kissed his husband at 7:40?! I think he thought that he was a waste under that couple's feet!!! Because a few minutes later he was begging and struggling under that man's hands while his head was in toliet!!! 😝💪💪💪
The expression on Ian’s face at the end of the clip is absolutely priceless! But he should never have spoiled his mother’s birthday meal with his awful behavior! He should have been nice on that occasion, not for Phil or even Cindy, but for his mother, if nothing else. Had Ian behaved well Phil would not have done what he did and Ian would not have had that annoyed expression at the end. In many ways, Ian and Phil are the equivalent to JR in Dallas - they are people the audience loves to hate because of their behavior and actions. Poor Kathy, having a husband like Phil , a son like Ian and a daughter in law like Cindy, that would be enough for anyone to go absolutely mad!

still working in the cafe too haha
'oh shut up Mitchell'
If Ian said that to Grant instead, he'd of been out cold and dragged across the toilet floor.
I think this is the start of the longest running feud in soap history and the amount of times they made up and fell out so crazy
Ha! Ha! What about Jack Abbott & Victor Newman played originally by Terry Lester (1980-1989) then Peter Bergman (1989-Present) and Eric Braeden (1980-Present). Those two have always been at loggerheads especially when it came to Jabot Cosmetics.
laminage What about Coronation Street.
Ken Barlow and Mike Baldwin
I was guna say that 2 Mike and Ken
Back when Phil had morals. He was still dodgy but Not the quasi-dying trainwreck you see in current episodes.
Phil was far from the gangster hardman he is now. Back then he was more of a Del Boy.
To right he was ok then
Hi Ian
Back then he was a nice guy who only punched when he had to an not like Grant who punched when he wanted to
He was more a bully back then
And so began a heartwarming and inspiring friendship lasting decades. 🤗👍🏻
When Grant left the show, Phil was written to fulfil both roles.
Grant was still there when this happened. Phil was still a hard man and a bit of a bully, but he seemed much more loving and kind in the 90's.
Well, this was a long time ago - Phil has hair!
Phil has a point, why was Ian acting like such a jerk, on his mother's birthday meal?
If Tom Banks was the waiter, he probably would've sung "Squealy Wants Some Beer!" 🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶
Thing was he didn't improve his mother going out with his enemy Phil Mitchell.
Let's face it I wouldn't be happy if someone I wasn't to keen on going out with my mother.
@@joemcconnell2674 he could have atleast made an effort for his owns mum's bday
Ian is behaving like a 10yro though
Phil was completely different to what he is now
Classic Eastenders. When it was good.
You can actually watch classic eastenders on Drama now because I do watch them as well as the current ones that are shown today
Used to watch it then it was good stopped watching it years ago it went downhill trash now.
to be fair all the later times this happened was just phil bullying ian for the sake of it but in this instance ian definitely asked for it
stemple11100 Yes but a bloke like Phil knows Ian isn't genuine, which is why he did what he did to him.
i would of made him suck me off if i was phil
@@evildeed90s Easy, Sailor...

This is the first time that Phil and Ian had an encounter in the gents....
Hard to believe Ian is Pete's son!
I remember, this.
Phil's had a receding hairline since I was a young kid. That's crazy to think. I'm 30 soon 😂
I wonder if Ian Beale is the most punched person in Eastenders?
I'd bet on that!
It’s probably Ben
love the bogwash classic
One of those scenes that became a bad self-parody in later years, like everything about Phil and Ian...
This is the first ever scene I watched in EastEnders and I watched up until 2009 religiously.
25 years ago now since that episode was first shown. This was actually only a mounth before my parents met.
The good old days
Ian's face at 5:45😂😂
Not that I'm a fan of Eastenders, but this has to be a classic, shame I was only born in 99
Ian was behaving like a pratt
So Ian goes to the toilet and Phil immediately follows, Ian then comes back looking visibly shaken and apologising for his behaviour... should've been a bit obvious to Kathy and Cindy what just happened in the toilets eh
I want to see more fights between Ian and phil
'What's the matter Ian, your looking a bit FLUSHED my old son'
Ian could of made an effort.
he looked a little flushed towards the end
That’s what Phil said to Ian In 2003
I know Phil was a bully to Ian most of the time, but Ian was an a--hole here and he deserved that!
+Terrycat88 I know :) That was hilarious "To Phil.. Let's start as we mean to go on" and Adam Woodyatt as Ian brilliantly looked more haunted than a spiritual medium! Pmsl...
Eww imagine if the toilet was full of shit😅
Ian was super spoilt but why is everyone defending Phil lol. He literally made Kathys life a misery, hit her and stuck her sons head down the toilet for being moody.
Moody ? A complete obnoxious prick, you mean.

5:37 OMG Ian’s gone back to secondary school!!
What did Peggy rip up? My guess is it was something to do with Sam and that's really why she ejected "Rickaaay".
Just imagine if Phil threatened Ian right in front of his mum, that wouldn't've gone down too well.
Still one of the funniest videos on youtube! Ian got flushed badly! :-P
brilliant episode thanks for up loading 😁 do you hav the rest of the scenes of when grant is trying to win sharon round before she leaves for good x
Can't wait to see Ian and Cindy Beale back in EastEnders
I like to think there was a floater in the toilet bowl when Ian's head went into it, extra justice there!
I have reason to believe there was
They look so old now omg
Ricky's hair 😂😂
Same
Going for the Michael Bolton look xD
5:28 "now, how abart a mouthwash" 🤣
Peggy reminds me of Dolly Parton here :'D
I think Peggy looked a little bit like the face lift version of Ivy Tilsley from Coronation Street when she was first in EastEnders!!!!! 😂 😂
young Ian looks a bit like Theon Greyjoy.
The famous head down the bog
Ian Squeal 😂
Just watched this on the channel Drama
And a feud was born at the drunks altar.
This is a masterclass on how to be very rude and embarrassing lol
"Now I've got 2 words for you, you slippery little git" 😂😂😂 also everyone stop taking it so seriously its a soap opera its called a soap opera for a reason that's because its not real they're actors!
Has this been on the drama repeats yet i know there round this stage
It was in the second of yesterday's episodes
Brilliant! 😂

Ian Beale with head down the shitter, facking brilliant.
Ian knew how to get under phil's skin.

ian was totally out of order here, he deserved it.
phil has been out of order tho on the more recent beat ups/head flushings.

The feud has been going on a long time.

I love this storyline yummy .really good curry .
Cindy was looking nice
swirly!
grant watching question time.
Phil Mitchell is flushed with cash
Ian was being such a Karen here.
Ian was very rude to the waiter
Kathy was actually kind of weirdly hot
