Having a custom guitar made is one of the coolest experiences that I hope every guitar player gets to experience at some point. Nathan is an amazing builder! Congrats on the new guitar, Jeremy. I can't wait until I get to hear it.
Beautiful contrast on your guitar Jeremy. I can’t wait to hear it. I’m fortunate enough to own Nathan Wright’s # 40, a single O parlor. It’s such a good guitar!
I have 3 custom builds by Dave Nichols in Malone NY. He is now retired but I am extremely honored to have these guitars. My ADI/BRAZ style 28 dreadnought, I got at a steal of a price considering the '30's specs including Brazilian rosewood.
Kevin Kopp makes several body shapes of guitars with burst on top and natural back and sides. He is in Bozeman and worked for Gibson Acoustic before setting out on his own to build a 12-fret SJ-200 he brands as a Trail Boss.
yes, I've got a 2004 Gibson LC-1 Cascade from the Bozmen masterbuilt shop, red ceder sunburst top with quilted maple back and sides. love the sound and folks tell me the dark top on light back looks amazing (can't see it myself as I'm blind). Jeremy's new ax sounds like it's a beautiful piece. ,
That's a great looking guitar, absolutely beautiful. It is an interesting contrast between the burst on the top and the very light color of the maple. But I really like that look, and am very much looking forward to hearing it.
Love this video! Jeremy, we have such similar tastes. About 3 weeks ago I ordered my dream acoustic from a British company. Sunburst top with Maple back & sides. Can't wait to hear/see the video on yours.
@@JeremySheppard Not sure what my place is but he said he planned to start my build on the 12th. I’m going with the W-18 with some minor changes. So, 1937 specs with natural Adirondack top and mahogany back & sides, ebony bridge/fingerboard with abalone dots. The customization I requested is to have the rosewood head plate swapped for ebony with a raven inlay in black mother-of-pearl. Also to have the brown binding swapped with an almost black tortoise binding he had in stock.

Not sure how this comment is helpful at all. You can say it’s not your taste, but to tell him he overthought the details or calling his decision absurd is a bit rude and unnecessary. Jeremy picked something he likes - and the whole point of ordering a custom IS to overthink every detail. I happen to like it, and I see more positive posts about his choices than anything. It doesn’t matter what we think anyway. As long as he’s happy, that’s what counts.
@@LegsON true, but it’s like I said. It’s not the opinion that was expressed but the way in which it was done. You can say something isn’t your cup of tea without being negative and possibly even making someone feel sorry about their decision. It’s perfectly reasonable for someone to say the style is not his cup of tea, while adding that the guitar will absolutely sound amazing. On the contrary, it would cut most people to hear someone else say you overthought your custom guitar design that you’re paying thousands to have made and that it’s “absurd” to have a dark front and light maple back and sides. How would you feel if you spent thousands on a dream guitar, and you were truly excited about the specs and details you chose, and someone said your decisions were overthought and absurd?! I have no doubt that Jeremy loves his choice and won’t care too much what other think, but like other TH-camrs, people fail to accept that these are people behind the screen. As a longtime follower of Jeremy, I’m not gonna let it slide if I happen to see a comment that crossed a line - he’s a gentleman and will ignore it. This is supposed to be a positive community where we support each other, and someone always comes along and says something that crosses a line that you wouldn’t say to someone’s face in person. It’s nice to have differing opinions and perspectives, and I’ve even disagreed many times - but be respectful when you do it. Don’t stomp on someone’s dreams by calling a creative choice absurd and being negative about his excitement over HIS process/experience.

Congratulations, Jeremy! Very nice...Can't wait to see and hear it when it is done. 😊
My favorite part is the fretboard. Gorgeous!
Love this! Never seen anything like this with sunburst and natural sides. Such a cool idea, and great look.

The contrast really sets the guitar apart from others. The headstock fits the guitar well also. Beautiful!

@bspiry yes Jeremy's guitar is looking great. I am legally blind. I have been playing for 50 years.
Can’t wait to hear you demo it!
I love the specs. You have great taste.
Love the fretboard and the contrast. A beauty.
Beautiful instrument, and what an incredible Luthier!

It’s so worth the wait!!

Beautiful! With my guitar hunter shirt purchase i feel like im a small part of it!
Wow, congratulations! 😮
Cool guitar well done, love your videos
Looks fantastic hope it sounds as good 👍
OM(golly)G! What a beautiful guitar! Entirely beautiful, but the back is beyond exquisite.
Nice! A black pickguard would be lovely maybe? Instead of tiger yellow?
I can't own everything, but man, this guy's right at the top of my list.
Hey Jeremy: I am from New Orleans and Love your videos,
I’m in Covington! Glad we’re close!

11:39 welcome to McMinnville TN
(My home town)
Have not found a guitar with a sunburst top and natural back and sides. However, Collings has it as an option on the SJ.
Iris does this with alot of their guitars
That maple is 👌👌. Will forever remind me of Chris Carrabba’s J185s!
That’s the best compliment I could receive! I love dashboard and have since 7th grade.
it will look even more awesome once the maple ages a wee bit!!😊😊
Prachtig !!!
Jeremy, why no slotted headstock?
GORGEOUS guitar, hope it'll please you!
That’s an excellent question, I’ll add it to the FAQ video about it
I have a m custom Larrivee SD40 with a burst top & natural back and sides but it’s Mahogany, not Maple
Getting Seinfeld black&white cookie vibes. Very cool.
Hi Jeremy, What is that guitar coat to build? Thanks
So there will be a Jeremy Sheppard Signature model?
Get a tapastring vintage endpin jack
Hi Jeremy, what will a guitar like that cost to make?
Around $7,500 currently. This one is very spec-y
N.E “Wright Guitars FASTER?” 😂
Custom guitar rather than signature guitar?
There will be a signature but this one got pretty pricy and custom.
Mmmm imo you completely overthought this, natural sides with the sunburst top is absurd. But whatever floats your boat I’m sure it will sound amazing.
I agree, no harmony between the top and the rest of the body at all.
But each look fantastic by themselves.
