Its not fair to list limited-release sets that only a few people got to have on a list like this. And on the flip side, there are normal re;ease sets that are rare enough that they should be on this list.
That's unfair. Some are #'d under 100. Those are friends/family, gifts, etc. Lego has to be general released worldwide to be considered a "set". otherwise, sets from conventions, gifts to certain employees, etc. are unfair to be put into rankings. Even if it's worth 1 billion dollars, it's not a real set.
Only six of those sets were mass produced and available to the general public - the other four were special sets.

When I was a kid. I saved up all of my money and bought myself that monorail airport set. I think it was $150 when it came out.

As a Lego Star Wars collector, I both Star Wars sets on this list. Not only that, but sold my 10143 EMPTY BOX for about $220 in 2021.
