    Nice! A timepiece that actually makes try use of the property of a pendulum!

      The design is really remarkable. It's a feat of engineering.

      Daniel Dupriest I've seen those "fans" on others...what's is the purpose? Just air resistance?

      @@jeffcampsall5435 Air and inertial resistance. Timing is very crucial in this clock.

    Nice clock.
    Do you have some more info about the black graphite coated parts ?
    Really like the collor of it

      I coated all the gears and rubbing parts with a graphite spray solvent. It goes on like spray paint but dries fairly evenly and in a thin layer.

    Why is the brass bar on the drop weight on the left side instead of on the right side?

    What keeps Pendulum moving?..

    I am a fan of Dave Atkinson, I congratulate your work, BUT, yes, but why painted black, like 'Rolling Stones'... ?I would have preferred the ... birch, bare in all its splendor ...

    What's the thing that moves round at 16 seconds?

    • @DanielDupriest
      @DanielDupriest  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Every 30 seconds the pendulum gets a nudge from the weight to keep it moving. The part that does a 180 keeps the weight wheel ready until it's time for the next nudge.

      @@DanielDupriest Fair enough. I had trouble working out how the pendulum got its drive impetus, being a grasshopper escapement....
