For Rory and so many others talent is only one part of the equation when it comes to greatness. What all of these guys, Rory, Day, Speith, DJ, etc. is show they have the talent and have the mindset and mental fortitude to climb the mountain and dominant for a time, but to maintain dominance over decades is what makes true gods of golf. I still cheer for Rory and hope he gets his green jacket.

The truth is he might not win another major again.......or he could win 10. Golf is tough and extremely hard to win professional tournaments no matter who you are. Still has 10 plus years left, best of luck to him. I do think he will win the masters at some point
Man it’s so crazy back in 2014 everybody KNEW Rory was going to be the biggest golfer of all time bigger than Tiger break all the records and now here we are 8 years later and he hasn’t won another major it’s just so mind blowing how that can happen.

@@Gamx50 Tiger got a a lot of kids involved into golf and parents were dishing out $1000's for gear, lessons, coaches etc. The level of competition is crazy now compared to the first 10 yrs tiger went pro let alone Jack.
The idea that he comes from a working class background is just inaccurate, laughable and wrong. He comes from a middle class family full of opportunities, time and love.

Excellent reporting. Mcilroy is one amazing talent. He came very close ending second at the US Open. It will be interesting to see what happens next. I'm looking forward to seeing Rory win many more tournaments because he is an amazing talent and a great person.

Nice to see he won the fedex Cup for 3rd time well deserved, but needs at least 8 major's for his legacy.
Rory has a swing that makes mine look like Miss Piggy. The man is just a pure talent amongst many great new golfers. Don't let your expectations fool you into thinking that this not a gift for us all to enjoy.

Moving forward a year, Rory is so consistent in his game winning or not you can never count the guy out ! With a driver swing of beauty and razor like iron play most of the time, I honestly think he’s matured like a fine wine.

I would love to see Rory play like he used to. We see flashes of this but then he becomes human again. Don't get me wrong as a) he is the nearest thing to tiger, Jack or Bobby I have seen and b) strikes me as more human/interesting person than many on the pga tour.

Man this was a great video! I started golfing/watching golf 10 years ago, I was never a big Rory fan at all because he was one of Tigers biggest comps at the time. These past 4 years I have been nothing but a fan of the guy. Can’t wait until he gets that green jacket.

Good vid man! Rory is one of my favorites, and his swing is one of the best I’ve ever seen. From a purely mechanical perspective, there is no wasted movement. Hope he can start winning again soon. Preferably the [British] Open Championship this year

@mitchellblades ah no. Schwartzel turned pro as a 17 year old and made his first cut and paycheck as a 17 year old. McIlroy turned pro at 19 therefor his first earnings were at 19. Pretty simple. You do not earn anything when still an amateur
McIlroy became the youngest player ever to earn a European tour card from tournament-play when he finished third in the Dunhill Links Championship
@thejourneysbeyond641 McIlroy picked up his playing rights in only his second event as a professional and achieved the feat in the shortest time on the European Tour.

@@carlospotanaje4791 Who I am is not important, what I did was. I did ENG, mobile and studio production - much of it was live - and I was everything from a grip to a producer. I worked as director, editor and the talent (someone who is in front of camera - usually as interviewer) which is all I can think of off the top of my head. Oh yeah, I usually had full creative control if I was producing. Did I make any mistakes? Lots and lots, but I usually learned from them. If you really care about becoming better, you have to evaluate criticism and if it is warranted, learn from it. Any criticism is meant to improve, not denigrate.. I'm curious, who are you?
Rory is from my country of Northern ireland so its always sick to watch him along with G MAC aswell
I'm also from nothern ireland but I'm from coleraine so I live closer to where mcdowell is from but mcilroy is still my favourite golfer.
