I was a professional symphony orchestra musician for 38 years, and I can't recall ever having played anything by this excellent composer. I am enjoying listening to this work.
Very nice,this is almost as good as the vinyl record I first heard it from when I was 5, I don't remember who made the recording,but I remember at west point my dad would turn all the lights off at night and then play these wonderfull records. he would tell us the story behind the music and imagination would run riot in our brains, very y heavy on the russian romanticism and the French impressionists, this has always been one of my favorites, because it's got a pirate lol,thank you so much for putting this out
Far removed from my early and late piano lessons for that matter, I am sure I heard the Volga Boatman melody in those early days for being bewildered by trying to endure piano practice. Some melodies though get re-stirred as I did manage to keep listening to great music even though I resisted learning how to play it.
@@Leha900 Thats a lie. In all documents starting fron 15 century russians are calles russian. And, by the way, "ukrainians" appear only in late19 century. what a misfortune))
@@MeanMan84 I believe Ivan lV was proclaimed Tsar of all Russia in the mid 15th c. so I guess that was when the term Russia came into being to describe the whole country at that time.

There was moscovian atmosphere in the 16-th century, Horde in fact. "Russian" appears in the 18th century on the whim of Peter the Great.

@@TheVaughan5 No. The term Rus was used to describe our country even from Ivan III, not Ivan IV, in the late 15 century
