on the long ago Twilight Zone tv show, one of my favorite episodes was THE LAST EXHIBIT. it was about a was musem a guy kept in his basement. I always wanted my own personal wax musem. So now I have a mini version of that. Started mainly with the old sideshow figures of the classic monsters. I don't regret it at all. Also I did have to pay inflated prices. Once they went for about 80 dollars, and six years ago I had to buy them for prices between 300 to 5oo. Yep, pricey but I love having my own classic monsters tribute room. A solid memorial to my favorite films
@@PhillwithadoubleL oh yeah, it did, probably about two years. but the sideshow figures, the premium ones, were and are just beautiful. the last one I bought was five years ago, the Dracula piece. I almost didn't it was going for 500...I'm so glad I did, these pieces now go for well over a thousand. I keep most of them in THE MONSTER ROOM. I have cats. cats hate figures. or I should say they love them to death.
@ cats will destroy anything and everything. Rubbing against them, knocking things off, scratching stuff. They’re d!cks 😂😂 but love em. Ours like destroying corners of carpet or trying to chew cables 🤷🏼♂️
@@PhillwithadoubleL how true, I just gotta take responsiblity and hide the wax museum in a room they cannot get in. I actually do love the cats more. once they are gone...it leaves a hole in your soul
You know what Phill, always getting that figurines from your favorite movies makes a lovely to ones collection but me personally it’s really not that important to me have,considering I have Funko Pops of my favorite anime series and a big Funko pop figure of Godzilla which someone gave to me for my birthday 🎁 Well cheers mate ❤😊👍
@@PhillwithadoubleL I have been a big fan of BFI for years now - they are excellent every one comes with a booklet - they even still do Blu-ray and DVD together a recent example Starve Acre. Their 4K releases are superb - I actually started my channel in 2020 reviewing their releases and BFI staff themselves were watching it at the time. I would recommend either the Proposition or Get Carter 4Ks I think they are having a sale on Rarewaves I don't want to set off your collectors bug again though.

2 quick things, I watched the Criterion/HMV sale video the other day. I can check stock in my local HMV online and wondered if you could? It might save you some time in the future. Secondly, how do you order from Barnes & Noble? I went to order something but couldn't as they didn't seem to deliver to the UK
@@Tokyo3-EVA I checked stock for when I was trying to find Lone Star after someone flagged that you could check stock. One store wouldn’t show stock, the other which was within reaching distance I couldn’t take the time to get to. Which sent me on the frenzy to order from eBay. Barnes & Noble, Im using / trying out a mail forwarding service that gives you a US address. I’ve ordered some bits to that address, just awaiting a couple of items to arrive and then the company will ship them all together in one shipment to reduce the postage cost. I’m going to try and cover how to do it and how it works in a future video but if you want to check them out. The service I’m trying is called Stackry.
Hi Phill, I was the person who mentioned Lone Star and sorry for the FOMO frenzy 😬 hopefully you enjoy the film. My local HMV (Wolverhampton) still had a few of the blu ray in stock at the sale price for info.
@@madvinyl75 YOU… you will pay for what you have done to me 😂 there was another store fairly close to me showing stock. I just couldn’t take the time out of the weekend to be able to get there to grab it. Ended up getting it from HMV On eBay with both the 4k and Blu ray. One thing with the criterion releases, they hold their prices pretty well so if it isn’t a movie to keep in my collection I should still get an ok return.
Phill no reason to worry about a Criterion selling out, they're not limited and Criterion sells the same editions indefinitely. A Criterion sell out means nothing because it will restock. I actually just bought the Robocop game myself for Xbox. I waited a year for the price to drop and got it in an Xbox sale for under $30. Pretty fun so far but movement is very slow and it can be challenging to aim on console. The Keep actually took about 36 hours to sell out 12k copies.
@@MoviePalaceOfBlood that’s an impressive sell out for The Keep, just saw that Imprint in Australia announced they have it coming up too. I had to go for PlayStation for Robocop because that console is ‘out of the way’ , the Xbox is in the living room so screen time in there would be difficult if any of the family were knocking around. I didn’t think Criterion limited their releases. It was just that sudden (irrational) thought process that sent me on a spiral. It went from zero to 100 and suddenly I MUST have it. I don’t know why I do it 🤷🏼♂️ it’s silly, I know I do it and yet sometimes that itch for something heads to that ridiculous level.
@@cyphersigma1 I think it very much depends on the movie. I’ve found that trailers can set a certain expectation for a movie. When it doesn’t meet those expectations it can be disappointing. But, once you’ve seen it and kinda know what to expect… it somehow feels different 🤷🏼♂️

Just announced The Keep is getting an Imprint 4k release in 2025 and VS may make more stock available given its demand.

Do movies really grow on us or is it just overtime we convince ourselves they are better or bearable due to the lack of online Influence
