Hello Roy. Enjoyed the video. You asked a few questions, so I can answer them for you. Yes, the third rail means the railway line is electrified. The trains ARE old District Line stock, totally refurbished , for Island Line, by Vivarail, before they went under. Finally, the trains do terminate at the Pier Head in Ryde, but the station is but a shadow of its former self. Only a single line between there and the Esplanade. A backward step in my view. Looks like the Red Squirrel trail south of Shanklin uses the track of the old railway to Ventnor?
IT is the old line through Wroxall and into Ventnor, a bridge took the railway over Landguard Manor Road. Much of it is still a path that can be followed.

It was interesting to revisit the island, you’re right it’s a throw back in time over there, long may it stay that way. Did you visit Godshill, my granny came from there, there’s a beautiful church there. Thanks for sharing
