I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you. This actually worked after trying to mess with this for about 3 to 4 days. My daughter just got into minecraft and then the next day the ps4 was corrupted. As a mother I had no clue how to fix this until is I stumbled across this. I'm thankful that I don't have to buy another ps4.
Here's a little heads up this will delete all data on your PS4 and if you don't have ps plus then all your game data is gone i suggest only doing this as a last resort

still doesnt work for me ... i put in a brand new ssd completely formated, then the update usb but it says "the update data can not be used" CE-34788-0 , usb is FAT32 and i formatted it many times, and downloaded the newest update.. what am I doing wrong? its a sandisk usb, i already tried 3 other s. ...
BRUH iam SO STUPID i used the UPDATE FILE for UPDATING (500MB) but not the NEW INSTALLATION update file (1GB) now it works... *facepalm* thanks I just realized it cuz i checked the file size of ur file....

Mine turns off when jt tries to update.. it will copy the file from the usb but after I click to start the update I get the screen on my Tv that shows nothing connected to the HDMI it will beep and go back to the screen asking to connect the DUALSHOCK4
@@collinivy2348 no I was told I might need a new motherboard because a chip on it might be damaged since it used to overheat .. they said it was a lost cause so just stopped messing with it… But.. I’m thinking tht if it was the heat that caused some solder joints to separate.. maybe if I get it just hot enough to melt the solder.. things might settle correctly and connect again lol I don’t know but since it’s considered lost then it wouldn’t hurt to try right? I might just stick it in the oven and see what happens.. before I throw it out
