When I'm feeling down I watch some Blanche one liners. This really was the best scene on corrie and cemented Blanche as my favorite character in Corrie history.
Not only comedic gold, this has to be one of the most well written scenes in recent Corrie (in fact recent soap) history. All four main actors deliver it perfectly (a sign of how close it would seem they were in real life as well as on screen) and all the guest actors and extras do the same. It's also a reminder of what wonderful actors Maggie Jones and Anne Kirkbride were, what a wonderful on screen partnership they had as mother and daughter and how sadly they are missed from the cobbles!
"Ken recently had an affair with an actress...she lived on a tug..." "They're like a pair of swingers..." "I'm not totally comfortable with your halitosis..."
Blanche: "Ken Recentley had an affair with an actress. It wasn't Nicole Kidman or Glenda Jackson, she lived in a tug boat." Ken: "It was a barge" Peter: "Is it any wonder I drink" hahahahahah
Corrie writes take note. This is quality with great writing, well cast with other actors at the meeting...just flowed with humor but with some home truths beneath the surface.
Having a shit time at the moment, but my God, this episode clip was probably one of the best comedy scenes if not the best comedy scene ever! It was just fantastic
4:32........Blanche just waiting for the opportunity to jump in and fuck things up for everyone. You can see the excitement on her face as she spills the Barlow's dirty secrets!! Hyperventilating!
Lol, ken had an affair, his step daughter tracy is inside for murder, peters an alcoholic with the step gran from hell with her put downs! What a family! Love them so much especially blanche I miss her so much :(
I wish Blanche and Deirdre were both still alive and in Coronation Street. Blanche will have a flaming field day with some of the stuff that's happened in the past decade or so with all the dramas, affairs and murders etc.
This is so 180% from an US Soap Opera AA Meeting. There'd be "We Love You, You Need Help, You Can Get Better, etc." On Guiding Light McKenzie Phillips played an AA Sponsor/Psychiatrist and it wasn't until about Three Years Ago did she finally get clean and sober. She's the Daughter of John Phillips of The Mamas & Papas who abused her, did 90 Days of a Eight Year Suspended Sentence Got Fired from One Day At A Time (Her TV Show), and did a Celebrity Rehab Show where he Roommate would later kill herself. She was also a Grade A Hoarder but finally got peace.

Makes me laugh when the lady says there seems to be a lot of residual anger flying around here if u ask me? And blanch just says we didn't!!!
I wish Blanche and Deirdre were both still alive and in Coronation Street. Blanche will have a flaming field day with some of the stuff that's happened in the past decade or so with all the dramas, affairs and murders etc.

Blanche was hilarious and should've been a comedian!!
Such a heavy shame Blanche and the actress(Maggie Jones) both left this planet

Step 8, We made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them
all.
We admitted that we were powerless over alcohol and that our lives had become unmanageable.
i really miss Blanche she makes me laugh
The discussion in these meetings can only pertain to alcoholism. I've sat in on open meetings so Iknow what AA is about.
