    This was such an interesting video, Michael. I hope you'll do more about the quiet, unknown corners of the county.

    I'm so glad I found this! I love my home county, it is so beautiful and has so much fascinating heritage. Our archaeology is outstanding, our countryside is wild and atmospheric....I couldn't imagine living anywhere else :)

      I’m not surprised! I’m Swiss, and we also have beautiful and history rich places. But I feel drawn to Northumberland and the borders. My kids love it too.

    At least you have the real accent. Too many folks make videos about Northumebrland and cannot speak properly.

    Stumbled on this series a little while ago and been really enjoying how they capture some of the area's spirit and sense of place. Going to share them on our blog as they really deserve a wider audience...

    My descendants came from Northumberland to America in the 1600's. My last name is Blankenship and I think that the pronunciation was/is 'Blenkinsopp'. I LOVE your vids. Subscribed!!! Your vids are well done!!!!! I just wish that I could do the same thing but I'll be stuck in Tennessee for life, I guess. Bummer. Anyway, thanks to your vids, I can travel in my mind. Much appreciated!!! Kevin

    Scotland and the Lake District are known for there impressive mountains I climbed up hellvelen

    • @hereIam1965
      @hereIam1965 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, Hellvelyn is stunning. The first time i climbed up I thought red tarn lake on the top (?) was the top, A lake on top of a mountain ? But like something out of the movies, like King Kong, the mist or cloud cleared, then I could see the horse shoe ridge extending up to my front, extending up into the clouds. With the clouds rolling over and into red tarn. After a while I made it to the top going up the right hand side, a bit of a clmb over boulders/rocks etc. But it was worth it for all I could see was the peaks like stepping stones above the cloud level.

    Pardonnez-moi mais je suis curieuse.... Votre accent vient-il du Nord de l'Angleterre ou d'ailleurs?

    • @ndrakemc
      @ndrakemc  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mainly from the northern most part of england thanks for the comments Nadine I'm working on more videos about northumberland with my ancient wonders series just in my spare time i'm hoping to improve on them each time, northumberland is probably the best place in england, i'll soon be putting up teaser clips each week for my ancient wonders of northumberland in the cheviot hills where I've been spending a lot of time and a lot more to come wild camping in the national park to capture the beauty of it the whole project will take a while but i'm hoping it will be great. Thanks Michael. :)
