This is our third night drive from Mumbai to Goa. This time we explored Mumbai to South Goa via Chorla Ghat and covered current roads conditions to Goa in December 2022. Hi, which route is good in road condition, Chorla ghat or Bhimgad Anmod ghat?
In my opinion better to go for Anmod ghat at this stage. Usually that is fastest plus only the sanctuary part will give you pain, which is manageable
Ensure to cross Anmod between 6 am to 6 pm as there are time restrictions

Yes Chorla ghat has many very bad road patches when we visited same time to Calangute thru this ghat. Rest road side greenery is good.

How do u ensure that route is safe in night driving? Like chorla ghat jungle in night time looks scary
Ya, it was a bit scary. However it's 24*7 highway so took chance of the first night drive !!!
I am planing a trip to Goa, should i take chorla ghat route or any other route, u advise. We will be halting at Kolhapur and next morning will leave for goa. how much bad road will get to goa.
Rough road an d pot holes.
Depends on where you are planning to visit at Goa. Unfortunately, all roads are pathetic.
If going to North, Amboli is the fastest, however lots of pot holes near Ajara can be avoided by taking Ghagoti road. I have a video on this, refer to latest video of Amboli ghat
If going shouth both Chorla and Anmod has issues with potholes but taking Anmod will save some time.

We are driving from Borivli to Morjim Goa this Saturday in a Honda Amaze. But are breaking our journey in Kolhapur, staying there Saturday night and then proceeding to Goa Sunday via Amboli ghat. Our 25th wedding anniversary this year. Driving first time that far in India.
Should we take right at Nipani Kaveri or go further to Sankeshwar and turn right?
One more q. Is SCLR opened now?
I often see you going via BKC out if Mumbai. Which is that route?
If you are driving out of Borivali, do prefer Google map for exiting Mumbai, better to take Vashi Bridge though. G map will show fastest, followed by Mumbai Pune express way.
After your halt at Kolhapur, prefer the exit after Nipani, there is a right turn towards Ajara from Kaveri restaurant and drive straight to Amboli ghat. You will get patches of road works but still it's the best route at current conditions.
Do download offline maps for low network areas. Have a safe trip and happy anniversary in advance.
The Mumbai University road towards Vashi bridge is open now plus there is a new flyover over Kurla which is good. You may try that too !!
How was the route through amboli ghat? Any other/Better route you have came across?

Yesterday I came back from Goa via Amboli!! Again Amboli is not in great shape as there are contuctions going on before and after Ajra!! However, at given conditions Amboli is the best route out of 3 entry routes to Goa
After crossing Amboli and Ajara if your take diversion towards Sawantwadi, the patch will be better as you will avoid the under construction route which flows from Amboli to Banda to Patradevi!!
Taking this diversion depends on where you are planning to go in Goa!! If it's Arambol/Ashwem/Mandrem take the Sawantwadi route.
But if you are going towards Baga/Calangute/Candolim then taking Amboli - Banda - Patradevi will save your time with little bit of broken patches !

Yes. This Chorla ghat road is open 24*7. Raat ko v khulla rahega.
Anmod ghat raat ko close hota hai ( 6pm to 6am)

Hi, I’ll be starting from Mumbai Dadar at 9pm (night drive) for my stay at North Goa assanora . Which route is safer, less Ghat curves.
Amboli or Anmod or Chorla.
Please suggest
Amboli will have lesser number of uphill curves. However, once you cross the amboli waterfalls stretch, you will get few hairpin bends in downhill.
Prepared for 10-15 km of under construction stretch near Ajara!

Out of curiosity, why didn’t you recommend Chorla Ghat route? Looking at this video of yours I felt better route.

Hi, not sure of Tilari ghat. However in return we took Amboli which was far better. You can watch our episode 5 for Amboli - Ajara - nipani road conditions
My friend recently took Anmod, the ghat section was good but sanctuary stretch had bad patches - Note Bhimgad sanctuary road remains closed from 6 pm to 6 am
Tilari Ghat road condition is good.. i last visited tilari ghat in ganpati vacation... tilari nagar- chandgad side... road quite unsatisfactory... but overall Good.... 😀😀

Amboli ghat is better than chorla ghat duur b padta hai..... Kolhapur se goa tak aap 3:30 hours me pahunch jaate

Guys which is the best route from mumbai to panjim
As per my recent travels I found South Goa entry via Anmod to be slightly better, however that will be too long for Panjim
I suggest to save time you can take take Either of these 2 -
1. Via amboli ghat - But, ensure to avoid Ajara link road by taking hiranyakeshi bridge - Covered in my episode 1 of Unseen Goa playlist
2. Via anushkura ghat - Though I have not tried this highway but many have recommended me

One thing I really find strangw in other citiesi is street light , where in Delhi ncr u will find light all across the road
Drove through Delhi during my Ladakh trip. There were lights across the city area. But Ghat sections and all outskirts ho jaate hai. So no lights as they are part of highway
How much is the total toll cost single way
Refer video right bottom corner. Each toll and total is covered as and when I crossed them. Should be approx around 800
Going to south Goa benaulim from Pune shall I take chorla or amboli ghat , anmod seems to pathetic compared to other options
Taking Amboli will add on some extra KMs, but i feel it is worth to add some extra KM for good road.
So my suggestion - Amboli Ghat. You can watch episode 5 for Amboli Ghat road conditions

Thanks a lot for the compliments!!! For maintenance cost I have paid 24,499 for 4 years which covers service labour and oil change. Alos, maintenance schedule is 15,000 km, usually which is 10,000 for other vehicles
My car is 21,000 km old. So, in first service i had to just pay 380 RS as my car has sunroof and there is a charge for sunroof channel cleaning that's it. Let's see what's the second service has in store. Motoroctane team has covered my ownership experience, you can check on their channel!!

What is driving experience of you're car?
Till now no complaints on highway/ bad roads. Rather it is awesome to drive Slavia on Ghats and highways. Specially it gives good overtaking confidence in single lane roads
City drive is hectic due to hard clutch , so for people with High city usage should avoid MT and go for DSG.
@@Travidiction yeah but it doesn't feel like suv's. Seadan have less ground clearence compared to suv, that is the drawback of seadan when it comes to situation of offroad tracks 😫

Do watch my Ladakh series, it managed well in Ladakh. Wanted one SUV only but 4*4 was out of budget, so went for good GC Sedan.

Don't go by that. Whenever we press accelerator and it's uphill this even drops to 2 KMPL. But overall it gave me around 16 in this trip including 4 passengers onboard and full boot

Yes, this is the instantaneous one. But best mileage is always on cruise control
