I love how Bo was not amused at being on camera 😂😂. Your land is so big, I can't get over how much everything has grown since it was strimmed. Well done on the tour by the way.
Your children are blessed. I hope they appreciate their freedom and love /support of a Father and a Mother. Your new lands on the top of a hill is beautiful. The journey is the excitement. Arriving comes when all is done. Great video. Best wishes.❤
I really enjoyed the tour. I started watching your show 4 years ago. The growth of your vision for your property and family during this time is truly inspiring. Congratulations!

Wow, you two are worker bees. The land is looking amazing. We love your work ethic, your children and the great marriage you share. We are excited to see the home you build. Thank you for sharing your adventure. 🇺🇲
Honestly, I admire what you have done so much! My husband and I live in England but he is Portuguese and we would love to move on to a farm in Portugal!
This was a very honest video...not like most that only glorify what they did. Life is about failure and learning a LOT of times 😅 You have a good piece of land there that a lot of humans lived on through the years and so you will ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing......I can't believe it's 5 years already! Feels like just yesterday watching the yurt, outdoor kitchen & shed going up. Interestingly enough, you are not the only Portuguese homesteader who thinks that the fertiliser/compost was inferior - resulting in not so good crops this year. Also, how many fox attacks on chickens..... Cannot wait to see what you guys have planned.
That is interesting! One of the reasons I was apprehensive about raised beds and no dig is not being able to get good compost, and annoyingly that turned out to be true. I'll get a different brand next time. We lost 4 chickens this spring, she took them very quietly one by one while they were free ranging.
So nice to see you all again!! You are doing just fine. It was great to see the updates, even for the things that are a bit shaggy ;) It's called life. Especially after a wet spring, things *explode*! I was going to ask about Louie, but he seems to be moving with his usual enthusiasm :) Figuring he will be fine. Lookiing forward to the next video with the surprise!
Omg that passion fruit flower soooo pretty. It took me two years of taking care of my plant here in Canada I was soo dedicated and one day it just died cus of the cold. I was soo pissed off and kind of sad and now I see yours and I’m jealous. I gotta give it another try.
They're so nice! Most of the flowers are on the other side of the terrace this year, but we still love it. There are many varieties of passionfruit, did you look at ones that are native to your region?
hear that gang we get an IBC tote project video in a few weeks.. and then a donkey for the well pump ;) great to see the property/project tour. cheers.
Great tour and summary of all the progress you’ve made in the last 5 years. You have worked so hard and it’s good to see that some things are finally getting a little easier. ❤

I know this is only an online video effect (didn't find better words for it), but I feel as I know you already! Of course if I would cross with you in real life it would be strange and even awkward (I'm a shy and introverted person). 😅 I could write here forever so I'll end it here. I truly admire you for your strength and determination in what you're doing. ❤ @AlongThePathsOfNature
You're doing beautiful. I've watched since your girl was a baby. I'm Portuguese but been leaving in America 4 decades. Although I still understand metrics I don't care for it, so thanks for acres, gallons, and feet in your descriptions. Cheers
Thank you for the tour of your country and the appropriate explanations of what you have decided to do on it. That was very comprehensive. You have done a good job and considering that you are not farmers by profession, you have moved forward successfully. Your future for you and your children looks very bright I think and I too live in the countryside on an old farm in central Sweden. I enjoy the peace and seclusion and the opportunity to grow vegetables, potatoes and keep small animals such as chickens and ducks. Greetings, Sven
I watched your videos when you were still quite new to the property. I lost track of your channel. So happy to see how far you have come. I remember you pruning those olive trees.
Thank you for the tour. It’s lovely and will keep getting better and better as time goes on. Why is Louie wearing a cone? Did he get injured? Looking forward to your future videos.
You should plant your Hollyhocks with your Sunflowers , i did that when I lived in a climate like yours, it helps them stand up through the strong winds 🌻🌸
Hi guys. To answer the unasked question: the reason you used white in the kitchens were due to them using whitewash from at least the middleage and up till a few centuries ago. Whitewashing kills germs and bacteria and reduces most viral spread. It also made everything look cleaner when you'd lightly wash over a dirty area and the basic nature of the lime would come into play. Greetings from Denmark
Your Outdoor Kitchen was a brilliant idea. Whatever you can do to create cool environment. You have really come a long ways with creating a family friendly homestead. You have done SO much clearing!!! Love that you have olive trees 🌳 your hard efforts are paying off. Thank you for this amazing tour. 🙏
Make a fertilizer with 1 gallon of water and banana peel, overnight, then throw the peel away, pur evenly to all your tomatoes once a month, your tomatoes will flourish, potatoes love it too, it's potasium, also wood ash helps soil, in the Spring, like manure, BEFORE The growing Season, not too much of either so you don't burn the plant or trees,
That was such a lovely tour of your property Lea and Maarten. You've done so much with the land. I love seeing your progress. A lovely place to live and bring up your children. Sending you much love, health and happiness.

Goats eat almost everything - and are very good at getting into vegetable gardens. Also, keeping animals through the long hot and dry summer is not easy.
Thanks, but as I said in the video we don't want that kind of commitment right now. Too many people take in animals that they cannot care for properly. This land is too dry for a cow and goats are too much work.

For the pond, you probably need only a simple contraption to prevent water from draining out. In my mind you only need a high enough vertical concrete pipe cemented to the stone pipe that fills your pond. That way, when the pressure of water in the stone pipe is high enough, water can flow overflow out of the top of the pipe and into the pond. But, when the pressure in the stone pipe drops and the water dries up, the vertical pipe will prevent all the water from draining. A bit like putting a pipe in your sink drain to prevent it from fully draining
Hope it makes sense, otherwise I can add a sketch next time :)
I understand what you mean, but I don't think it'll work. We've tried to plug the hole with cement before and the water just found a way around. It would be the same with a pipe.
