If you like Falling Flower, I think you'd love Home. Also, personal opinion, Seventeen is one of the only groups that do Japanese comebacks just as well as their Korean ones. Not Alone is gorgeous too.

Seventeen is an Independent group. They produce and choreograph their own music they literally just lifted Pledis Entertainment up. I love everything about them, they treat each other as a family. Most humble people i know ❤️

All the songs you reacted to were written and composed (and produced) by Woozi. The other members usually participate more in lyric writing (especially the hip-hop unit members) but everyone in the group also has composing credits by now, on top of writing ones. You should check the credits for their songs, it's incredibly satisfying to see their names all over it 😁
Edit : one nuance about Thanks, the korean title uses "gomapda" to say "thanks" instead of "gomaweo" which is the more commonly used one. "Gomapda" is very informal and only used between very close friends or family. So Seventeen using this in a fan song means that they consider their fans as close to them as best friends/family.

Also, they produce ALL their songs so all the songs you listened to are written by them 🤗 Woozi is their main producer and he basically has written/produced 95% of their songs with the help of some members most of the time. South Korea coined the term “self-producing idols” for them bc they produce (Woozi) and Choreograph (Hoshi) and do everything in their own performances ever since they debuted. Of course now that they are more famous there are a lot of people assisting them but they still are very involved in everything. Especially Woozi who is still the main producer (yes including their latest song Rock With You and the whole album that comes with it)
Bighit(back in 2020) which is Hybe now announced theyre acquiring Pledis (svt’s company) back in 2020 too I think.

Ah, I don't know how to explain about "Seventeen Sound", even SVT have a hard time to do that. They just produced songs that they feel related to at that time. Cause they have 3 units so some of them love ballads, some love heavy bass, others enjoy up beat songs. It reflects on their songs, I would say it mainly devides to fresh (like Aju Nice), emotional (like Thanks), intense (like HIT). They try new things all the time. But all of their songs are very heavy on choreography. Cause they self-produced the songs by envision them with grand performances. That's why if you just watch the MV without seeing the performance, you already miss a crucial part of the song.
And behind story of Thanks MV, it actually shows how their daily life are as a idols and as SEVENTEEN members. You noticed the makeup scene right? It's very realistic. It also shows how each unit work together, Vocal Team share ideas by having meals together, HipHop team need to go recording room to work, while Performance Team always stay in the practice room.

Also, yes, Seventeen is widely known as one of the few self-producing idols. Ever since their debut the members are hands on when it comes to their music and choreography. Jihoon(Woozi) is credited in almost all of their songs as the main producer, composer, and lyricist. The hip hop team (Vernon, S.Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu) contribute to the rap verses, as well. Hoshi and the rest of the performance team contribute to the creation of most of their choreos, too.
Thanks is song created by Woozi to express the groups gratitude to their fans who have always been there for them through thick and thin. It was said that there have been like 6 or 7 drafts for that song which were all rejected, making the released version all the more meaningful. It's part of a special album (Director's Cut) that holds songs to show their appreciation for Carats(their fandom). This was released on February which was also the month of Carat's anniversary (Feb 14).

If you like "thanks" i would love to recomend you to watch coreography and lyric video as well..because from my opinion.."thanks" is all rounder beautiful song...music, mv, coreo, lyric..all of them are very meaningfull..
This song is so special for carat..this about SVT want to repay back all love, wait, and trust that they get from carat with most beautiful word..but in the end they don't know what to say..so they only can just say "thanks" to us although they know that word is not enough for deliver their gratitude
In MV they show us their rutine from practice, recording, creating music, lyric and coreo, to say thank for always waiting and loving them
In coreo they form "thanks" with all different movement, sign language, visual, blocking, and create it to 360°..so we (carat) wherever we sit we can cleary saw that sign of "thanks"

SEVENTEEN doesn’t have a really set “sound” rather than having a common sound.. it’s more like they like to experiment and produce different sounds usually around the theme/concept of the album.
Also it seems like you enjoy the more mellow and emotional song rather than the heavy pop ones as you’ve mentioned with “Fallin Flower” and “Thanks.” So I’d definitely recommend Home, Hitori Janai, Highlight and Lilili Labbay by the Performance Unit. I feel like you’d like SVT b-side a lot like Heaven’s Cloud, Second Life, Kidult and Together.

In that scene in Thanks where they appear like backstage, with all the makeup on the table... They bought that makeup, and recorded using it to clarify that "it's totally okay for them as men to use it". Just wanted to say it, it makes me proud everytime I watch the video..

i also started as a casual svt stan. i had at least year worth of phase where i just listened ONLY to their songs without even knowing who is who. i think svt widened my taste in music, they made me realize how much i love power ballads. i can totally relate with you.

I'm a casual fan of them too! I love a lot of their songs but I don't know their names or anything (there is just to many of them) I always check out their come backs and their stages! They are so amazing!
That one guy is such an amazing vocalist, he is one of the best!! I think he's 2nd on my list after Onewe's Yonghoon, who I think is the best vocalist in Kpop. (Would love for you to check them out, if you love emotional songs I'm telling you, you will love them!)

First of all thank you for reacting to them, i really liked this video.
Secondly as many Carats already said in the comment section, Seventeen are well known in the kpop industry as producer with Woozi, as one of their producer. The others members also take part in their tracks, they participate in the lyrics, some also compose too, but also in the choreography, which are just insane and so pleasing to watch.
Since i feel like we kinda have the same taste in music, i will recommend u to listen to all my love which is a b-side of their semicolon album and one of my favorite track from them( they made a band version of it for Carat anniversary this year and God this is just perfect !!!!). I also feel like u are going to love hitorijanai which is a japanese track, Don't wanna cry, Home and Kidult (which is also a b-side).

I love how they take advantage of isolation to play, learn new things, and appreciate one another. And remind us to reach out to each other in new ways and that we will meet each other in person again. Seventeen self produce, write, compose, choreograph, video edit, direct, play instruments, dance, every member sings Vocals and many rap. They have control in everything they do. They meet together and with the company as to how they want the final product to be released. Woozi and Vernon has the most writing credits in the group. Mingyu and Wonwoo are video editors and Mingyu creates Seventeens Logo's. Hoshi and Dino are both choreographers and get help from Jun and Minghao as well when coming up with choreography. This group is multi talented in many ways such as fashion. Photography, modeling, acting, variety programming and they also create their own series called Going Seventern. Thanks was created for the fans and was meant to display what goes on behind the scenes to create a video. Such as song recording, choreography, makeup, and such. Seventeen is very connected to their fans and always tries to release some foam of content on a regular basis. They are also one of the first groups to publicly say that they love and the support the fans from the Gay community all inclusive. Number one group in Kpop in my opinion

Not just Thanks but they produce and write lyrics for all of their songs and choreograph them with the choreographer. And they never stick to one genre or two. They want to try any genre.
The produces thing start even before their debut. When I say that, that's mean their debut song too for sure. They are known for their refreshing concept and synchronization (of course, the king)

As other carats are writing in the comments, SEVENTEEN is known as the self producing group since their debut. And as a Japanese CARAT, I can't appreciate enough the fact that they have been doing the same thing on Japanese singles they have released till now. They always try new concepts/sounds with every comebacks including Japanese ones!! That is why we could meet the masterpiece, Fallin' Flower... And they never fails to impress Japanese CARATS with the Japanese versions of the existing songs, and Oh My!, one of those you reacted has JP version too!!
