THIS IS FANTASTIC!!! THE ENERGY ON THIS STAGE IS INDESCRIBABLE! THEY TRULY BLEW THIS COMPETITION OUT OF THE WATER! I THINK IT IS REMARKABLE THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE ON STAGE, AND EACH ONE WAS SUPPORTING THE OTHER! THIS IS WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT!

... teamwork, and joy into our hearts. It's a place where one can feel loved and respected.
Show choirs need to be much more than how well a group sings or moves. In this video, it is quite evident there are minor mistakes. But that is overlooked because of the genuine emotion that each person possesses.
Each choir were all winners because we all shared what we loved to do. We all showcased our talent and love for performing.
    DONE AND DONE.

Not everyone will agree with the way Wexford works. As long as we know that we're doing our part and sharing the gifts that are instilled in us, nothing can interfere. With each person who does not agree comes ten other people who appreciate and understand. That's the way life works. Personally, I feel being a part of Wexford is much more than the singing and dancing. It's a community who loves and supports each other through easy and rough times. It's a community who infuses self-descipline, t

I am a recent graduate, so I am well aware of your perception, but their focus is NOT to persecute you. They are firm on purpose to make you better. FLUFFY talk is not always what pushes you to strive for excellence. It's TOUGH love.

@Monkiigirl This school's Music Theatre program has one of the most talented, diverse and committed pool of students. And mind you, our top priority was never to win the competition in the first place. It was so that Wexford and its hundreds of talented kids could have even just a small chance of being seen outside our community, to make more people aware of this school. It was through our commitment and focus of each one of us sense of togetherness and UNITY. Our program IS our family.

Understand that it's not about her. It's about the TEAM and the overall product the TEAM is able to execute. It's unfortunate that some may feel that way about specific faculty members, however that goes to show that through your experience in the program, you were unable to get to know them intimately. They are very passionate individuals and when it comes to the arts and bringing up developing artists, they will only tolerate your best and bring forth the best.

@MonkiiGirl This program isnt geared towards making stars and divas. We are all about the TEAM, and we support the leads just as much as they support us. At the end of the day we all walked out with our heads held high because we worked together to get this. I just want to say though, i do understand your creative standpoint and due to time constraints for this performance (wexford does 6 shows a year) we weren't able to fine tune all of the coreo, but even so I think the product was still great

@MonkiiGirl i can say confidently that wexford won off talent for a number of reasons. first off, ESA is a much more acclaimed arts school from how i see it, i am NOT saying it is better than wexford, but it is more well known and talked about. i recently auditioned for wexford and i can say that all of the students i met were absolutely lovely, none were divas. finally, i happen to know one of the judges from the glee competition. she was in tears after wexford's performance. shes honest.

    1. You said they sound good FOR 60 people, implying that they only sounded good considering that there was 60 people, and I was just saying that it doesn't matter how many people they have, they will still sound good. (Great in my opinion)
    2. Again, the choreo was not incredibly simple, and they learned their 15 minute show in 2 weeks.
    3. The starting and stopping movements and transitions are in unity, so i don't know what you are talking about. And the dance break has good choreo.

@310245535 the program and the actions of the teachers have evolved from the past years . This is my first year in the program and i am unsure of what occurs several years ago. Ann Merriam is one of the most amazing individuals I know. She is a mother of her own, and a mother to all in our musical theatre program at Wexford. She loves to see her students shine and makes sure the productions at Wexford are amazing and breath-taking. She plays for the team, so the team stays strong. She is amazing

@MonkiiGirl TO BE COMPLETELY HONEST, Wexford had NO reputation before this competition. They were known as the 'ghetto' school that wasn't even considered as a legit arts school. ESA's Splash had more of a reputation than Wexford. They were considered the 'BEST' arts school in Canada. The thing about Wexford that struck the judges and audience was the amount of commitment from each performer and the message brought forth.

1: I didn't say they didn't sound good. I said that with so many people, there isn't much choreo that can be done.
2: It IS incredibly simple choreo. Have you watched North Central Counterpoints? They learn their 20 minute show in 2 months.
3: It's not unified if only 20 out of 60 people are doing it. And by "unity" I mean general stage presence and starting and stopping movements and transitions. These are basic things about general performance that make any show look better.

@kabiripie It's obviously a school full of talented kids, I just wish they'd featured more of them or given them something to do other than bob up and down in the background. This is a program that could very well split into two competing choirs, so why not go for it? Make the kids feel like they're ALL important instead of just the soloists.

@kabiripie By six shows, do you mean full staged productions? Cause that'd be intense! :]

  • @MonkiiGirl
    @MonkiiGirl 13 ปีที่แล้ว

@CenterStageMitch To be completely honest with you, I think you won by reputation. Or at the very least, the judging is completely different than I'm used to. I would have pegged Splash as the winner because they did a much more difficult show and performed almost flawlessly.
My high school alma mater does 2 full-scale plays, 1 full-scale musical, 2 seasonal shows, 1 variety show, and several small dramatic productions in small groups. AND have 2 top tier show choirs: 1 mixed and 1 womens group.

@MonkiiGirl I have a few things to say.
    1. I know for a fact that if this was a group of 100, 30, or even 15 people it would sound just as good, so the fact that there is about 60 people, really doesn't matter.
    2. The choreography is not incredibly simple, especially since this school had two weeks to put all of this together.
    3. The lack of unity? What lack of unity? Can you please watch this again, or just from 4:25 and then talk about the "lack of unity" you claim is so distracting. thanks :)

They sound good for a group of what, sixty people? But with so many on stage, choreography is incredibly simple and the lack of unity was distracting.
It's look and showmanship is clearly based off the performances seen on tv's Glee. And Neither would stand a chance in a midwest or Cali competition.
