Gae is doing good. I don't see her as often as I used to though. She's got different birdies now too. She thought she had two males but one turned out to be female. ;)
What a sweetie! I lost my little Daphne (green Pacific Parrotlet) on Sunday. She would have been 11 next month. Thank you for posting Charlie's videos. They make me smile. I think I will try to "adopt" another parrotlet soon, I miss my little green girl so much...
Oh Catherine! I'm so sorry. Parrotlets are a huge presence in our lives for such small animals. I'm truly sorry for your loss. I was devastated when Bean died and it took 6 months to get ready to bring a new one home. It was worth the wait but I was also dealing with physical illness. Adopting a new one will be wonderful whenever you decide to do it.
Wow, Charlie is not only bright but also extremely cute. I have the "same" parrot only a few times larger (blue quaker). He talks, sings, but he does no tricks like that. Actually, they may look alike, but as for personality, they are very different
I've never heard of a quiz like that. You can join the facebook group parrotlet parents to ask questions and also see more pics. They are great pets but can form bad habits just like any other parrot. They are a time commitment too but the rewards are awesome.
that's great! I highly recommend the book "clicker training for birds" by Melinda Johnson to help with the process. This is one of the hardest tricks and for us it needs constant review.
This is the first parrotlet video that concentrates on problem solving, I think at the beginning of the exercise he was confused or unsure about getting the exercise right.
Oh my! You just made me spit out my tea. hahahaha! Tell your normal boy that Charlie hates this trick and I've been helping him get over this period of disdain by gently coaxing him to keep trying.

Yeah....I’m quite sure he has just about mastered this one, as I can’t open my left eye right now. I’m sure he’s aiming for complete blindness though.
