Hi Eggies!!! Find all the graphic t-shirts near you because today we're doing a thrift DIY and making a mini dress! Highly inspired by the brand Lifer, we're replicating a patchwork style and babydoll silhouette. If you would want to create your own dress, I've included step-by-step instructions and measurements below. Best of luck!
TOOLS NEEDED:
- Base shirt
- Lace trimming
- Statement pendant
- 12x shirt panels (7.5"L x 9.5"W)
- 5x contrast panels (7.5"L x 4.5"W)
INSTRUCTIONS: (follow for size S/M)
1) Crop base shirt to measure 15" from shoulder to hem
2) Cut t-shirts and contrast panels to dimensions mentioned above
3) Sew shirt panels together to create 2x rows
4) Sew gathered detail at top of each row
5) Sew rows to one another, sew tiered skirt to base shirt
6) Sew lace trimming to neckline and cuffs
7) Hand sew statement pendant
8) Clean hem with a straight stitch

YUUUUUSSSSS girl! Surprisingly, it's not that hard to make if you break it down into 3 pieces: the bust, 1st skirt tier, and 2nd skirt tier! You can TOTALLY make one!❤

EXACTLYYYY! A lot of the shirts I used were t-shirts Arthur didnt wear anymore and just had a ton of wear to them!
Get a sewing mat! The self healing or rotary mat, that will make using the round cutting tool sooooooo easy! It allows you to push harder on an even surface and really cut through the fabric ❤ cute project!
This came out great! It's more cohesive than I thought it would be with so many designs involved.
Omgggg Lowkey was worried bout the same thing about half way through this project lolol
love how it turned out looks so stunning!! i just want to mention that using straight stitch on stretch fabric may cause the stitches to break when the fabric gets stretched. here it's a loose fit on you so you're probably fine, i just want to point that out so any beginners watching are aware! ❤
My goal this year is to learn how to sew and this is motivating !! Also perfect time to watch during my lunch hour at work😊

I adore the dresses. They are so aesthetic. Makes me wanna do some sewing. I got some clothes I need to mend and fit to my body anyways. Perhaps I can do that soon.
I will attempt this as well. As a similar sized small person. I may try this. I have a cropped band t shirt I may add something too. I was thinking maybe one of my skirts I could like sew to the bottom of where the shirt is cropped. Or thrift a skirt that will match. Maybe lace trim the sleeves and neck. Perhaps even. Layer two skirts. Or find a patch work skirt I like to layer it with. I dunno. Sounds super cute!

I actually have a similar project planned with a vintage sweatshirt (cropped) and men's striped dress shirts for the skirt. I prefer to sew each tier with a basting stitch and then gather the tier by pulling on the ends of the strands of the basting stitches. It gives you complete control of how pleated each tier is and you can adjust it as needed before sewing the tiers together or to the top....
Okay okay I need help with that because every time I use a basting stitch and pull the thread at each end it breaks!!!😭😭😭and there’s times where the fabric is stuck and won’t move so idk what I’m doing wrong 😅
Jealous of America's large amount of clothing options in second hand stores both physical and online, this dress turned out amazing but I imagine it would've been more costly to do here in UK. Either way your channel and style is literally amazing, ever since bestdressed I followed few clothing accounts on here but since I found yours a year ago almost you are the number 1 for sure, keep up the awesome work! I’ve got 3 bunnies😅🐰🐰🐰but only 2 of them are bonded. I’ve been working on the girls to get along but they’ll literally 💀 each other if in the same area. Bunnies are just like any pets and have diff personalities and preferences. My other buns hate going out around ppl or high stimulated places. Nori (the black bunny I featured) I rescued off the streets of LA so she’s use to the traffic and loud noises. She’s my brave lil girl so I usually take her out if I ever decide to hang out with them in public places✨
