  • The end of JobKeeper, JobSeeker and rent relief has seen increasing numbers of people seeking help from homelessness shell and housing affordability has only made the situation worse.
    Across Australia rental prices have had their highest quarterly increase since 2007. Even before COVID, the census revealed women over 55 are now the fastest growing cohort of homeless people in Australia.
    Sue spent years caring for her father but when he died she found herself looking for somewhere to live.
    At 67, she reached out to Link Housing and Women's Community Shelters. She spoke to The Drum's Stephanie Boltje.
