The West Just Became A BLOODBATH...

The West is going to be a bloodbath next season. We got 13 teams all fighting for a spot in the playoffs. Even the teams that were out of it last season, took a step forward and will be a tough matchup on a nightly basis.
Except for Utah and Portland, the others have something to play for.
Even the Spurs who were 14th last season could make a run at the play-in zone now with veteran additions in CP3 and Harrison Barnes. In fact, I’d even go so far as to say that if we put the Spurs in the East for example, they’re a lock for the play-in.
Just think how much easier it would be for Wembanyama who didn’t even have a point guard to play off of, and now has a legend in CP3 teaching him the pick and roll game and who knows what else. Even though he turned 39 in May, and this following season can easily be his last, Paul brings so much more than a point guard presence to this young team. A starting 5 of these 2 plus Barnes, a pure scorer in Devin Vasell and pick one from Keldon Johnson, Sochan or Zach Collins - this is a solid lineup.
The Chris Paul effect could be stronger than ever possibly, with a superstar on the rise, this team could easily improve by 10+ wins.
Sacramento is another team that missed the playoffs but now got significantly better.
With the acquisition of DeMar DeRozan, the Kings established themselves as a top 6 team in the West. At least on paper.
With sharpshooters Kevin Huerter and Keegan Murray surrounding the big 3, Malik Monk exploding from the bench, and a couple of solid additions in Jalen McDaniels and Jordan McLaughlin, the Kings have a deep roster ready to compete with the west juggernauts.
If the fit wasn’t going to be ideal for Demar on the Lakers, with this team he can be his old self. They don’t need another 3 point shooter, and DeRozan can operate with Sabonis in the pick n roll, or play off of the attention that Fox requires. He’s a mid-range assassin, and along Swipa they’ll form one of the best mid-range duos in the league. Also, he’s adding experience and clutch shooting to a team that was in the playoff hunt till the very end, but couldn’t hold on. Sacramento fell down to the 9th seed at the end of the season, as they went 4-6 in their last 10 games and let important games against direct opponents slip away, before getting knocked out of the play-in by the Pelicans. But with Demar on the roster, things could be different next season.
The situation in Memphis should be different as well, given all the time they need to heal and prepare for the upcoming season. Ja Morant led this team twice to the 2nd seed in the conference before they fell victim to injuries and non-basketball related matters. Adding 7 '5'’ rookie center Zach Edey to an all defensive core in Marcus Smart and JJJ, should really tighten up the defense and opposing teams will have trouble scoring against them.
If healthy and focused solely on playing basketball, the Grizzlies could easily return amidst the West elite.
The Warriors on the other hand, might not get back in that group, but certainly recovered well after losing Klay. And if you compare the pieces that left the team in Thompson, CP and Dario Saric with the new signings of Buddy Hield, Kyle Anderson and De'anthony Melton, one can argue that the quality of the team overall remained the same. There are still a lot of questions about Wiggins' future in Golden State as he could be on the move, and hopefully for a serious upgrade like Lauri Markkanen. However, it will be a waste if Steph Curry doesn’t get more help towards the end of his prime.
The Rockets are another team that just missed the playoffs, and they’re going to get better simply by their young guys taking a natural step forward playing a year plus together.
And when you consider that almost every one of the playoff teams got better, you see how wild the west will be.
To me, it looks like we have a clear divide between the 4 best teams and the rest. Dallas and OKC with their newest additions are the scariest teams in the conference.
The Thunder are going to be a defensive powerhouse with Caruso and Hartenstein while Klay could be the X factor for the Mavs providing a lot of floor spacing for Luka and Kyrie to just cook.
KLAY KLIP
Minnesota didn’t even need to do too much, they’re still right there. Denver is also in the mix despite losing a key piece in KCP and not replacing him up to this point.
Then you have the other teams like Phoenix with their big 3 and a new coach.
The Clippers made a bunch of moves and who knows what they’re going to look like next season.
If healthy, the Pelicans are always dangerous, and now they have a nice upgrade at the guard position in Dejounte Murray.
And of course, you gotta mention the Lakers, however the roster looks, they still have Lebron and AD. - กีฬา
Mavericks will have a full 82 game season with PJ and Gafford. They upgraded Hardaway with Klay. Grimes is a direct replacement for Josh Green. Naji might defend like Derick Jones Jr.(who is the only talent loss).
They only won 50 games last season with all the injuries and player movement. Don't sleep on Dallas
Mavs are winning 60+ games if healthy next season
@@carlosacosta1290 that's what I am saying! Klay, Grimes and Naji make us MUCH better! Easily 9-10 deep now.
I've watched several TH-cam videos about this topic but no one mentioned how Fox and Derozan have been two of the most clutch players in recent memory, and now they're on the same team! All those close losses the Kings had last year will have a better chance of being wins this upcoming season.
only 1 ball
DeRoZan becomes DeFrozen in playoffs
@@hectordiaz1575lol 😂
Good team they will make playoffs probly but not 1 of the Kings main 3 are good enough to carry especially against a bigger team like Nuggets Celtics Wolves. I'd probly take Grizzlies over Kings this season tbh
They won't get clutch shots next season, will be down by too many
Finally someone doesn't forget Memphis
What did memphis do
Who?
😂😂😂😂
Lets be honest, pretty sure they wanted to be forgot this year.
The grizzlies would’ve been a 5th seed this season with their 2023 record and the west got even better. They’re getting left in the dust.
Ready for this season to start can't wait
it already was a bloodbath, it just got bloodier
I'm hoping Mavs can run it back again to the finals. It just feels like they are a notch above the others in the west. Celtics are still better than everyone else though.
Fellow Mavs fan here. The additions of Caruso, and Hartenstein, put OKC, even, if not a notch better. Lively's offensive growth, could swing the pendulum back to the Mavs. All comes down to injuries come playoff time. Should be a dogfight in the West.
Minnesota and the Nuggets could have beaten boston... Celtics literally just had the easiest possible path to the title
« A notch above » please never cook again bro😭
Denver and OKC are a bad match ups for them and are better built
@@jordancobb7553I guess we’ll never know
@@rocketroll8358 they just beat OKC with an injured luka lmao
I love how when Demar joined with the Bulls everyone in media said it was the worst move and he is a 90s player style and now everyone is saying he such a great player once he leaves the Bulls.
If it helps, the bulls sucked with him and the kings will too
@@codyeble0713if fox somehow gets inujured for 3 years then they will drop out of the playoff race. the bulls were great with lonzo playing
@@OsumasThe Kings are a better team than the Bulls, so I doubt it. Also, DeRozan was one of the few bright spots on the Bulls. They didn't suck because of him.
Because they forgot about him and didn’t see him improve in the Spurs. Casuals man.
Wow surprised you didn’t dislocate your shoulder with that reach they said that about his fit with the bulls offense and other players who also dominate the midrange.
Man, Spurs might be pretty scary force this upcoming season already.
Jodi Allen has a clause not allowing her to move or sell the team unless it falls below a certian level of profitability. The Blazers org isn't trying to rebuild, they're tanking for the sake of tanking so that Jodi can move the team to Seattle. She's actively trying to get rid of all the fans and ticket sales.
The NBA will expand back into Seattle. There is no need to move the Blazers and antagonize 2 major markets.
@@kneelpdx1 it's just what she's stated she wants to do
I want my mavs to hit the finals again but with the West being stronger every year I’m back to feeling how I felt last season towards the end. It’s finna be a good season!
I’m excited to see what the West standings will be like at the end of next season. When 13/15 teams may win 40 games, I just wonder who will underperform or suffer from injuries.
To be honest I think the lakers will have a hard time doing the playoff or even the play in.
They were healthy last year and they struggled. This year lebron and AD are 1 year older and will have the Olympics messing up their preparation.
I see them missing the playoffs.
If anything the Olympics will help them. What preparation do you think they were gonna do? NBA players rarely practice in the off-season like that
@@warriorbetayes but what if playin in the olympics burn the players out . They may struggle early in the season or get hurt when they get back playin in the league if they dont get hurt in the olympics
Lakers are going to be a play in at best.
“GUESS WHOS BACK”
quality content as always
Why do people think Denver is in the mix they lost key players and they didn't even come from the sexond round this season
Jokic
@@triggeredtrey Jokic is an amazing player, but he can't win without some help. that's why they won last year because the nuggets had amazing depth
people think the lakers are in the mix, even without kcp the nuggets still are betetr than the lakers
I can't believe everyone got better EXCEPT for LA.
What a disgrace from Pelinka, Rambies and Jennie.
Same team for thr last 2 years pretty much, just becaude they didnt want to go over the luxury tax.
Kings will be great wow
La still better than the kings or atleast better fit for the playoffs
Nobody wanted to play with yo kang
Still can be a 6th seed but there’s no championship hope
Well when LeGM runs the team there isn't much anyone else can do. He is the most toxic player to play with. Why you think Klay said nah I'm good, Derozan said Nah I'm good, Jonas said nah I'll go to Washington instead. Nobody wants to play with him
We got the young prince LeBron James Jr f is you talking about
Mavs got a taste of the finals and bettered their roster. I expect them to come out the west again barring any unfortunate injuries. Plus Cuban always be making good moves at da deadline
It’s Nico Harrison not Cuban
Nico*
My pick is OKC with how much better they got and the experience they got this year
@@graham5990 what a hot take...
I don’t expect anything from Dallas. This was a fluke run. They got exposed as being mid in the finals. Klay and a role player or two won’t change that.
This is going to be crazy next year, 😊for sure.
I could see SEVERAL 50 win teams that straight up miss the playoffs in the west.
Warriors and Lakers could be top 6 honestly depending how the rest of their off-season plays
Despite CP3 loses in the finals, blew a 3-1 lead. I still think he is a winner.
I'm glad Slovenia lost out in the qualifiers. No one denies Luka's love for his country, but should focus and go some better conditioning for the next season. I truly believe they can with any team in the West, and yes that includes Denver.
Luka gonna condition himself with sone beers
They just made the finals because other teams choked just to choke in the finals 😂
@@mcmerry2846 You're using the word "choke" without understanding the meaning. How does the Clippers, OKC, and Wolves choked where Mavs literally led the series?
Choking is like having 2-0 or 3-1 lead and then ultimately still losing the series. That is what CHOKING means in NBA context. Clearly, you don't understand basic English since you don't even know what does it mean in basketball context. lol
@@Jj-gi1sg exactly trust we would've won the finals if Luka's beer hadn't been taken away
I think the west has to go through Dallas or OKC to win. Denver will still be a force, the Pels improved and Minnie might take another step. Then there´s Houston and San Antonio who are both hungry. I´m not sure about Morant and the Grizllies. They will be strong in the regular season but Morant needs to grow up already. You can´t be flexing like a teenager everytime you malke a basket. Just go on with business. The Lakers, Warriors, Jazz and Clippers won´t be a serious threat anymore. The Kings seem to become the new Blazers... good stretches over the regular season but at the end they won´t cut it
7:37 Monica McNutt's??? Man this shit had me rolling
Spurs is that team when it comes to rebuilding. They know how and when to tank, bringing in cp3 was a touch of genius.wish they had scooped up klay aswell.
Will you cover the Olympic games too? Would be great to see your breakdown of the recent games
"pelicans always dangerous" 🤣😆😆🤣🤣🤣
Depends on whether Zion takes things seriously for a whole season. As soon as he tried to play like a superstar he pulled a hamstring. That's some James Harden "playiing my way into shape" level stupidity. D Murray might put them up a half level, but it all hinges on whether Zion grows up.
I love your optimism blud. As all of these teams are currently constructed, the Lakers, clippers, warriors, jazz, trailblazers, rockets, pelicans, suns, spurs, and twolves have NO SHOT at making any serious noise.
The Grizzlies, Nuggets, and Kings will be dangerous, but ultimately second tier. They will be what the Mavs were last year. Maybe they'll get matchup lucky and make a late run, but eventually they'll run into a top tier team in the postseason and get exposed.
The Thunder and Mavs look top tier scary after their moves. I pity the other 13 teams and any team that meets them in the postseason.
The T-Wolves were the 3rd seed in the West this year, and they were just in the WCF, but you say they have no chance of making serious noise? That makes no sense. They're not just gonna fall off. Also, the Clippers, Warriors, Pelicans, and Suns fall into the second tier imo. The Rockets were almost a play-in team, and that was without Sengun for the last bit of the season. They'll be looking to build on that. You're correct about the Jazz and the Blazers, though.
@@urbaindelva7869 the Wolves haven't done anything to keep up with the better teams. They benefited from meeting a team they were specifically built to defeat in the playoffs and they almost blew that series. They won't fall off but they weren't as good as they thought and in no way do they deserve the glazing they get. Gobert hurts them too much offensively and is spectacular as a rim protector but once he's out of the paint he's a liability on defense too. They got exposed by the Mavs to the exact same degree the Mavs got exposed by the Celtics. The difference is the Mavs made 3 moves that at least on paper make them much better and the Twolves have done no such thing. It's not falling off, it's inaction that will do them in.
Many of those teams I said won't make any noise aren't going to be bad, but they just won't be good enough to beat the top tier teams imo
“And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life. “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.””
John 3:14-21 NLT
All you are doing is alienating people from whatever church you are selling.
So basically dallas just lucky with them draft night trades with luka and dirk
How is a trade lucky lol? A second rounder becoming Jokic or Draymond is lucky, sure. But I don't see how specifically identifying a particular talent and giving up assets for them because you foresee their value is lucky
It will be just a level better than last year. NBA doesn't have a real juggernaut team and Any team could get into the finals even the 11th seed. That's what make the final looks cheap and low quality.
How many times u gonna change the thumb nail ? 😂
Fk yea we basically getting our Duncan manu & Parker back 🔥🔒
5Cinco to 6seis chip🏆 coming soon 🙏
"if healthy and focused solely on playing basketball."
Ja, this is your sub, your sub!
Pacers Baby!!! Happy to be in the East.
Finally they've realized a roster deep with talented role players and team chemistry is better than a few top stars of the highest echelon.
Finally somebody mention the Grizzlies. Their main players were injured but when they come back healthy they will be a top 5 team in the west.
CP3 on the Spurs is just an experiment to confirm that Wemby plays better with a "true" point guard type player. If they like what they see, they'll go out and acquire a younger player for that role.
didnt they already draft a point guard in Castle?
It wasn’t before?
Dont see the spurs so good.
Wemby will get the elusive 5x5 and Quadruple double next year.
actually the trail blazers could be more competitive than people realize
Sabonis and Derozan will be interesting
As a Fanboy of Klay, I’m a new Mavs fan. Always loved Kyrie (except for one year)
Looking forward to having a new team this year!
I'm fine in the west haha
I feel like Zach Edey might be the only person who might be able to stop Wembanyama if he goes in the mid range or paint
West always has been. Thats why Bron stayed in the east most of his life
he was drafted there lol
@@Eleanorr486 Miami, Cleveland Mark II. He only went West when they guaranteed they'd get him a second MVP-caliber player, which AD is when healthy.
That man lives rent free in your head, sad
He literally won a chip in the west lmao

Lakers will go deep in the playoffs because of Bronny. He brings a ton of morale and joy to the to the locker room. Morale and joy are gamechangers. It causes you to go on 20-win streaks! ---- Klutch Sports
1:34 that statistic is idiotic, as is evident by the omission of the Warriors. He's old and won't give the same boost as he did in his prime.
Wherever you put them, the Spurs are still tanking this year. Winning is not in their plans yet.
Nah the Kings are gonna struggle bro ... Lakers are screwed ...
Dude how are this shirt designs new ?
Thunder clear
I think next year losing teams are in a great positions since the 2025 draft class has a great selection.
I think this is Luka's year. Mavs will stay healthy, win 60 games, get the 1/2 seed and Luka will get MVP. Dallas and OKC rematch in the conference finals should be absolute cinema. Luka will remind everyone that he is an all time great playoff performer and win his first ring at 26.
Except the players haven't got the memo yet but they're tanking again for Cooper Flag. Hashtag Barnes Experiment 😂
Crazy West....
But East became Champs 🥹
the lakers have been first round exits or missed the playoffs 3 out of the last 4 years. they should not be considered a threat after keeping their roster exactly the same
The Lakers got the best upgrade, imagine having two Lebron's in one team that's crazy
You haven't looked at how many games the Spurs lost by 6 or more points. Something like 20 games. If healthy, then with a better defense in the 4Q (VW-Sochan-Castle), and better offense (VW-CP3-Barnes and a player TBD), the Spurs win 45+ games. N.B. If that player TBD is an all-star type, then expect the Spurs to be not a play-in team but a 6th seed. AND, get this, the Spurs are still in the Cooper Flagg lottery b/c we have the Hawks #1 pick in 2025 draft. I don't believe the Hawks will make the play-in this season.
Literally every team except for jazz and especially blazers have something to play for
Might be an antirecord for the number of wins from Portland? Who knows
If morant doesnt flashes his guns he will be the face of the nba
The Spurs in the East are a lock for a top four finish. Easily.
West
The spurs were the 15 seed last year. They will not be a top 4 team next year but maybe a Play in team.
I'm responding to him saying the would be a lock to be a play in team in the EAST. I know the Spurs are a WC team.
I don't usually get involved in comments but I had to say this is one of the worst takes I've ever heard. Celtics, Sixers, Knicks, Bucks and Pacers are all clearly better team 😂
@@MegaPinto14
Exactly. West fans have no idea about the East. These are the same people that were saying Mavs in 5. Then Mavs in 6. Then Mavs in 7. Then it was Boston in 5 and they still haven't learnt that there are great teams in the East.
Since the end of the GSW v Cavs rivalry, 3 teams from the West have been champions and 3 from the East. But the way they speak about the East, you'd think the West has all 6.
Jokers, the lot of them.
We’re all first 😂
JA MORANT DIDNT LEAD ANYTHING:....MEMPHIS were 10 wins 2 losses when he missed 12 games.
PEOPLE need to stop overrating JA MORANT and ANT EDWARDS just because they want to find a new american flashy star
No idea Harrison Barnes went to the spurs
I expect this to be the season where guys like Curry, Lebron, KD are all out of the playoffs.
It wont even be a contest. Their teams just dont have enough talent. Maybe the Lakers a sixth seed at best. Depends on Lebrons health.
Imagine Luka , kyrie and Klay playing at the same time and be a defensive liability
Idk how well the Spurs will do necessarily.....but I do know that CP3 is one hell of a player to learn from, and that in itself could be substantial for Victor Wembanyama's growth as basketball player.
Dudes stay calm, Wenbanyama must stay healthy. His frame could become a problem.
I'm a MAVS fan, but Wemby's frame is not a problem. Dude is limber AF! Wemby routinely does yoga. He will be freakishly good for his career.
How tf is cp3 still starting 😂😂😂😂
And The Lakers have Bronny😤
Kings DO need another 3 point shooter lmaooo and defense
Lakers got there secret weapon, LeBron's son!
Grizzlies now have giant ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION.

Are we going to ignore the fact tons of players are injury prone? Are we going to pretend like C Paul will play and not be injured most of the season? Are we going to pretend P George will not be injured come playoff time?
Rockets, spurs, warriors, clippers miss the playoffs with their current construction
Nah! You don’t know who james harden is in regular season. He’s a beast! He never miss playoffs for a reason
It wont be lıke that easy. Spurs, Rockets and Grizzlies will struggle like this season again instead of improvements. Competition is better and there is no space for mediocre. Suns and clippers will stumbe as well. And Lakers: All quite in the western front...
