- Finding a lost forgotten cemetery in the woods is hard enough. But when you hear a rumor that there might have been a cemetery in a field and it was destroyed and hidden? That's a whole different kind of hard to find! On this video Robert, The Other Robert, and Cody search following a tip on a destroyed and lost cemetery....
This is exactly why we document history and lost grave sites.

Looks like some handy dandy brush hog or plow work. All those daffodils and cedar trees are sure indicators.
You need someone with GPR to help find the cemetery.
The only way I can think of to find the graves would to go over the property with with ground penetrating radar

This...BREAKS my heart. That poor young woman. She has a story, she lived, she loved & was/is loved, then forgotten & now there is only a few pieces of stone w/her name on it. 💔 For someone to come along & clear out the grounds.....clear out what is rightfully everyone that is buried there, everyones eternal resting place but to clear out that land takes away those ppls existence. Proof they lived. Makes me cry. God bless u Roberts for being the amazing, caring, big hearted gentleman u are. I believe there is a special place n heaven for the both of u. ♥️

It breaks my heart too to see cemeteries neglected and tombstones destroyed. Even though it's illegal to vandalize a grave in my state, my husband once worked on a farm where tombstones had been pushed into a pile under a tree, and it made me sick to see that. Since starting to research my family genealogy, I've realized even more just how important cemeteries are. I have great respect and affection for Robert, the other Robert and Cody for trying to find and record these cemeteries.

Don't feel too bad Tammy. While I agree that it should not happen, I also know that the dead know nothing. They are not disturbed by what happens to the grave.

Cedars often were planted around old cemeteries. The daffodils/jonquils indicate an old home site.

Wow thats really Sad what lengths People will go to after destroying a Cemetery. I'm so glad you all care an are willing to go to Great Lengths to fix thing To do your best to record an bring things to our Attention. It sucks that where your all located they don't seem to care about lost Cemetery's. On the other hand I'm sure Glad Texas Library's care enough to put you in touch with the Lost Cemetery Association. Where they appreciate you bringing it to their attention an Finding it. Sometimes they get overwhelmed with things as sometimes People leave or move away or other things. The Cemetery Association is made up of Volunteers. Robert I do appoligse for getting Wordy in my Comments.

Our local cemetery has equipment that can be drugged over the ground and produce an image as to where each grave is. I’m wondering if you contact a university, that would be interested in helping, you to find out just what’s under the ground there. To me this is an absolute travesty and a disgusting thing to have happened to those poor people!

That is a wonderful Idea. It would help students get field research. I bet a university would jump at the opportunity to give students a first hand chance at using GPR.
Your Idea sounds Great Sweetie. It sure would be nice if the local Collage or Jr Collage would Volunteer to do that.
Great idea and something to maybe look into, and get the unmarked graves marked and recorded..
There is a man in my little Missouri community who can "witch" graves. He did it for me and my husband one time when we were trying to find if a distant ancestors husband was buried in an empty space next to hers in our local cemetery. The man who helped us uses two sticks just like those who witch for water do. He has done this many, many times and can also sometimes tell if its a man or woman buried there. It was fascinating to watch him. Trying to find an entire cemetery would be a job for the ground penetrating radar but if its just some random graves that you want to inquire about, locating someone who can do this would be very interesting. This local man has been a cemetery maintenance man for many years and at one time dug many of the graves in more than one area cemetery. His father was also able to locate lost graves using wooden sticks and he passed those sticks down to this son to continue to be used.
Thank you for what you are doing. It is so sad to see how so many people have been forgot about and no one but you seem to care. I find myself pausing your videos and googling names of the people whom you have found. Thanks again!

Greetings, Sirs. Mr. Robert: back in 1978-1990 when we’ve moved up here, I’ll never want to forget the day my 10 yr, old son and three friends riding their bikes to inform me of these Head stones alone the bayous’ edge! This last secret of this large but, small island we’d lived on from the ‘70s’- ‘90s’, this land was own by this Plantation Wealthy man when I’d been a, child living five miles away of this island as the plantation house and land encompasses about 1000 acres for Sugar Cane and Cotton during their seasons. This island had nice two story home unpainted was known as Slaves homes! My school bus driver picked up children from the many homes white ppl were living in them in the ‘50s’-‘60s’. One girl from there had become friends throughout my childhood through 16 yrs. old! Her older brother would laugh at me and mock me constantly as I’d been stricken at 2 yr. old baby by polio. I’d worn long leg brace on my right leg as the movie Forest Gump movie.smaller brace shoe on my left foot from surgery! In the school yard one day when the bell of recess was calling us in to class! I’d been in the fifth grade! These giant oak tree large roots sticks from the ground. I’d tried to walk too fast my long brace didn’t make it come over the roots as usually it does her brother on this bench with two friends teenagers! He’d cracked up laughing at me calling me crippled kids should die! His two buddys’ come help my friend picked me up! Hurting and knee bleeding I’d refused to cry! Just rub the blood off with my dress hem! Yrs. later after my parents sold the farm and moved to another town 10 miles East of this place! I’d met my friend many yrs. later as we’d moved in that subdivision which my friend had lived as these slave homes were torn down! When we’d moved into our beautiful house down the end to the island! Near the Cul-D-Sac! This street an extended from the Original subdivision ended! This main street begun on the left side going west to our home was a, beautiful park along the bayou on the north facing the bayou off the street ! This subdivision had made this park with different sections of picnics table and benches with an iron Bar-B-Que grill! We’d have family picnics twice a, month! Large swing sets, see-saw sets, large slides for the children sand boxes a, beautiful place I’d enjoy knowing this was here for the children with concrete bike road for biking, or walking around on the inside path as bikers had a, separating fence to keep from hitting walkers! It was wonderful life! Then one day my 12 yr. old son with his three friends from this large subdivision(Upper middle class Ppl) then in the ‘70s’-‘90s’ then we’d all been ppl with money! One had to make salary within net pay home income of $10,000.00 cash into our home after bills paid! Then our home sold for $200.000.00 home with house payment of $2000.00 monthly payments. My hubby made then bring home was $5,000.00 weekly! This one day I’d followed these three beautiful young boys to the park to see what they’d found. First place these kiddos were told to not go onto the large rocks bordering the land as to protect land erosion! They’d taken me to this left side corner of this park! Two boys laid out three headstone with names of this person date of birth and death even on the lower signature was: A, slave of Monsieur Maxx'! I’d known a, black family named Maxx! This eldest son of Mr. Maxx had the most angelic voice singing in the local church church! I’d hear him sing as I’d attend weddings or funeral with his voice could and would bring ppl goosebumps over us all as it sounded we’d been in heaven! He’d been hired many times to sing in all churches! When I’d read this one headstone since the 1800 as the other one and the other four were two different family Names! I’d told my son and these others to follow me to the lady across the street home I’d asked her to call the sheriffs office or state police! She’d done so and came across to see what these boys found! She’d been astonished herself! She’d asked them the same question I’d did earlier. When the police arrived, she’d gone with them as I’m sitting shocked wondering how many times we’d walked, laughing having fun on this land wondering how many bodies were under our feet! Police called for many different ppl from the citys’ counsels, one judge, coroner, machines as we’d walked back home first letting Ms. Marge deal with them! Reporters there as we’d sat in our front yard watching ppl with machines trying to locate for burials sisters! Ms. Marge walked to my home telling me many graves of long lost parcel part of bodies under the earth 🌎 where these park benches and tables were removed as the swings and other childrens’ slides. Took over two week with casket being placed in new caskets, to bring to the Holy Rosary Church in Houma city limits where many graves lay never realizing come October. 10-12th. 1982: this same little honest man my 13 yrs. old son would be killed by this drunken (.287)/ drugged man killed my beautiful, sweetest, loving little man would lie in this same cemetery where these graves were laid my own baby now is laying there! I’ve nearly lost my mind for I’d had many breakdowns and ended up with a, medically Broken Heart 💔! Drs. here diagnosed me after these many yrs. this was back in 2012! I’d died on this surgery bed! Took them 3 3/4 minutes to bring me back! I’d been asked many reasons for why my healthy heart ♥️ gave in. I’d. Named many reasons no he’d say! When I’d told him of these drunken man had killed my beautiful little 13 yr. old son was killed He’d thrown up his arms that’s it! My God Ms. Méria, I’m understanding why your heart ♥️ didn’t want to lived! LORD In Heaven Mamn, if I’d lose one of my four children I’d be as you I’d die! He’d put me through many test to prove my heart is medically Broken heart 💔! Many ppl do not believe this happens but, it’s true. When my precious Grandmerè passed her first cousin which were together since birth always lived next door to one another. Even after marriage they’d built homes next to one another throughout their lives when we’d lost my Grandmeré, my Great Aunt Corrine, ( in Nouvellé Orléans) French ppl train their children to call all our elders cousins Aunt/Uncles... Sign of Respect! We still cling to our old traditions. My cousins here which are cousins once removed call me Aunt Méria! Just thought to share of this cemetery was removed and we’d moved so I’m not sure if the park was rebuilt for younger kids moving in the homes! Thank you 🙏🏻 for your continued searching to bring honor and recognition again! Pray you’re able to bring back up other precious ppl which lived walked built and later rested their flesh bodies back to recognition as this cemetery then....

Not every slave owner would do so yet, many Spanish Dom wealthy Plantations owners didn’t truly look at these human beings as their employees living off my great.Granddad. Most every Spanish Dom treated their slaves with their last name! Built their many houses, free food and material to make their clothes and those when asked by the owners’ wife would ask older women to sew their children and or their slave clothes! Remember, ppl then as wealthy women of these plantations owners would takes ships to Paris for their ball gowns! Especially, their Mardi Gras ball gowns to attend. My precious grandmother had many stories from her life as a, child till 20 when she married for she’d refused any man her father would bring to her 16th. Birthday party and or Balls with their parents! Shoes and fancy dresses, capes etc, Then More Clothiers’ moved to the city of Nouvellé Orléans! To answer your question or statement is Yes! This is why I’ve always said Hollywood has lied so much about we, Acadians European immigrants were wealthy ppl much from France, Britons and Spanish! Once must realized Spanish King owner the Louisiana Purchased! Then American 🇺🇸 government purchased Louisiana Purchased from the French king which had purchased it from Spanish king. French next as more European Protestant ppl from England 🏴, French, Germans and Italians were escaping from the yrs. of the Catholic inquisition was murdering by Burning at a, stake as many poor Christians wanted to escape! I just came across your channel by pure chance a week ago, and I have watched all of the videos from you that I've seen. I like cemeteries and always respect them. It sickens me when I see a grave that has been deliberately vandalized or plowed over. I think what you do is a wonderful thing! It's important. These forgotten graves deserve to be brought to light again. Robert and Robert, thank you so much for piecing together this woman's stone. Because of you, people know she existed, and that's a beautiful thing.

I love seeing old cemeteries. It is so sad when graves are lost and forgotten. Where I live some old family graves have been found and fence put around them. One near me is now right on the side of a busy road. It's just sad. I appreciate your love and respect for these old graves. Also love the old homes and barns. I'm watching the restoring of the old house. I love every minute of it.

People claim accidently might have graded over an old cemetery but most likely..... Purposely did it to try and increase land values with no cemetery attached to it. No visitors = no cemetery unfortunately to some
It is a shame. The people who once were mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters are lost. How important it is to reunite them with their love ones that are still here.

Her daughter, "Mary Alice McComb", was born 2 months before she died. Mary E John was married to "Mathew Brandon Mccomb".

This is a crying shame, I know the owners now had nothing to do with this, but who ever did this should be slapped up side the head. This used to happen all the time, and farmers would let their cattle run through cemeteries on their land. The cemeteries were there before they bought the land, they had no respect. I am so happy this little piece of history was saved, and more information could possibly be gleaned from this. Thank you Robert, Robert, and Cody.
I love how all of you, have such passion for what you all do. My father was an undertaker and he used to take us kids all over Sydney , Australia. And show us the graves he thought were the most unusual, or old etc. He gave us a love for cemeteries.
But that we should always be respectful. It is so sad that people can think it’s ok to flatten a cemetery 😵

Thank you guys for doing what you're doing ! It's sad that some people either don't care about cemeteries , just plain mean or just ignorant ! If I bought some land that was badly overgrown with stuff ! I would walk around looking for anything that might ruin any equipment that I would be using to clear that land ! I bought a little farm 10 years ago and walked before doing anything to it ! Because I knew that there was a lot of junk visible on it ! It took 2 days of walking around finding stuff and 3 days to get it all cleaned up enough to get my horses out here ! Take care , stay safe and healthy with whatever you guys maybe doing next ! Doing okay here in Kansas .
Always neat to find lost graves. I love doing it but it's also sad. I do think most people know about them when they are damaged or destroyed.

@ 2:59-3:04 I saw "2" full apparitions right behind you at a little distance. They were a misty white & one appeared to be a female in a dress & the other one was a male in pants.
...facing behind you, the man was on the left standing by the downed wood, & the female was a few feet to the right between two slender trees.
...the "2" were only briefly there & then gone.

Always enjoy your videos. Recently while doing research on my genealogical family tree. Sometimes I use the site " Find a Grave" A very helpful site for information for past relatives. I thought of you and your searches. Some of the graves that are almost lost, a picture of the headstone, and a location could be very helpful in finding a lost relative. Check out the site, when time is available.

Oh my God. I don't understand how people can be so careless. I'm thinking it wasn't just carelessness. Sorry I'm 73 years old. So I've seen to much to think this was an accident in my life. I used to be so naive and saw good in everyone. Now not so much. Thank goodness you atleast found this young woman's head Stone so she could be remembered once again.

Some people just do not care. I knew of a small rural cemetery that was well marked and the landowner knew it was there. He showed it to me. He cleared the land and sold it and a house was built right on top the cemetery. The home builder lived there only a short time and moved out as he claimed the house was haunted. His wife refused to go into the house only a short time after moving in. All I can say for sure when the house was empty one evening after dark I saw a light in an upstairs window while driving by and then it went off. Surprising as the house had been vacant for months. Not sure if I believe in hauntings but that was awfully peculiar. The house sold several times and no one ever stayed very long.
😂....so do you know if the house is still there or has it been knocked down!

Just a thought for when you go out in the future. Here is a method I copied from the internet: A gravestone should be cleaned and maintained carefully so as to avoid getting it scratched or tarnished. Thus, it is best to use a soft-bristle brush, or at most a plastic scraper or craft stick, instead of a wire brush or abrasive pad. Wet And Forget is the best one step tombstone cleaner. Wet & Forget easily removes moss, mold, mildew, algae, and lichen from historic monuments. Apply Wet & Forget to remove moss, remove lichen, remove algae, or mold and mildew from headstones. For best results apply heavy and leave it, just spray and walkway. Moreover, care should be taken so as to avoid cleaning with detergents that contain compounds like sodium bicarbonate, sodium chloride, sodium sulfate, ammonium carbonate, and trisodium phosphate (TSP or Calgon); they contribute in the build-up of soluble salts beneath the surface of the stone. Plus, avoid pressure washing a gravestone. Remember to wash the monument from the bottom to the top to minimize streaking and staining. As for the detergent, do not use a household cleaner like soap, borax, Spic and Span, Fantastik, Formula 409, muriatic acid, phosphoric acid, and other strong acids and bases as because they tend to be corrosive. Light colored marble or limestone tombstones can be cleaned with a cup of ammonium hydroxide or household ammonia mixed in a gallon of water to remove biological growth such as moss, mildew, algae, and lichen. Avoid using chlorine bleach, though, as they tend to result in light brown staining after some time. The best and safest means of cleaning a headstone is soft water. So, avoid using cleaning solutions as far as possible. If there appears lichen growth on the headstone in the form of grey and orange patches, then moisten the affected area and scrub it with a mixture of one part of ammonia and four parts of water. Finally, wash it with regular water.
