I recall coming into this airport on an overcast early morning, on an Ethiopian Airline plane, probably a 707, flying from Athens, in 1968. A very different look to the surrounding countryside in those days. Addis was then a city of perhaps a half million, it is now over 7 million. Thanks for this updated look!

Actually, that would have been one of the three Boeing 720Bs that EAL flew at that time (I was regularly flying to and from Addis in the 60s). They were named Blue Nile, Whote Nile and Lake Tana.

I love this airline.. i travelled from bangkok to addis ababa and the service is superb.. the food is excellent.. though my flight was a bit bumpy althrought bec of turbulence.. the crew is accomodating..
Addis ababa airpot... well as expected, its chaos.. toilets are dirty.. no enough restaurants open early morning arrival.. you will just end up eating some pastries and coffee that isnt really good..
You absolutely right, about the toilet, if the management agree with, Ethiopia love by every single nations across the world.
That is correct. The toilette at the Airport ist really very dirty . To the top of that no toilette paper i could find. Lots of to do....

As an Ethiopian, I feel so proud we have a great African carrier that is very successful. And it breaks my heart to see that the government is selling off this highly profitable, lucrative and high growth company to international investors. This is a company that is the source of pride not just for me but for many Ethiopians and even Africans. Ethiopians look up to this company and draw inspiration from it when almost all other institutions in the country are in sad state of disrepair. I strongly believe the company should stay Ethiopian. If the government wants to cash out, thats reasonable but sell it to Ethiopians. If the government wants foreign currency then engage the huge Ethiopian diaspora community who will gladly scoop up shares in the company. This will help preserve the company’s Ethiopian soul.

I traveled with Ethiopia Airlines from my home country Namibia via Bole International Airport to Oslo Gardermoen. I experienced world class cabin services and admired the aviation history of this airline. I wish I will become a frequent flyer with the Ethiopian Airlines.

I thought 787-8 was fitted with Rolls Royce trent 1000 engines??? But this one I see that it's General Electric's Gnx. I belive the aircraft is B787-9, a bigger version.

Why Mumbai or Delhi to Addis abeba you give only breakfast before 2 hours the flights landed?? That is not good because the duration of the flight is 06hours50 minutes
There is usually no service mid-flight..except for ultra long haul flights...so only after takeoff and before landing
