Lived in Mary K from 59 - 64. Was a great place to grow up. Dad would take us boys fishing on Corella Dam.

Wow. That must have been a great experience. Sort of sad looking at it now but really interesting to see
Corella Dam was one of our favourite campsites

magnificent country out there isnt it ! I really enjoyed Cloncurry but I didn't get to visit it's surrounding districts . great to see them through your travels . I think I remember the dam and Mary Kathleen being mentioned in Cloncurry about it's mining .. ohh noo loosing your drone .. but even better new footage to come I guess .. nightskies stars look incredible

Yeah. Gotta say was really surprised by Cloncurry. If you spend enough time anywhere & do some exploring you usually find these great places
The new drone is amazing. The footage should start turning up in our upcoming videos 👍😃
      Thanks for your comments

I wonder if that is the old rope swing tree now dead in the water.

This was our first visit here so don’t really know.
What we do know is we’ll be staying there next time we’re travelling through that area

Yes it’s a good spot. I lived at Mary Kathleen until 1983. Clem Walton park was created as a recreation and picnic spot for the employees and there families Attended many functions there and the tree with rope swing was part of the fun. Last visited the park in the 1990’s.

Clem Walton is a much better campground imo.
Amazing that you know the history of the tree & rope swing.......
It's really a special place & a little sad in a way that it's all gone..
      Thanks for the info
