Yeah, the 'Pay and Charge' functionality is no longer available on the Venmo site, and even though the feature is still on the mobile app, it does not seem to recognize any type of visa gift cards. Does anyone know of other methods that might work? I'm trying to find a way to transfer the money I get from my prepaid visa card straight to my own bank account without always having to stop at a store for a cashback purchase or having to find the nearest ATM for a fined withdrawal and THEN having to drive all the way to my closest bank-which is actually quite faraway from where I live-just to deposit that small amount every-time. (Btw, I've already tried PayPal without success)

Isaac Cruz no I haven’t figured it out, for some cards the zip code is required but not for others. And it looks like there is a fee to transfer payment to a friend from the gift card.

You have to register your card
You must call the phone number on the back of your card, it will tell you the balance and give you the opportunity to register the card. Do that, and it will ask you to enter your zip. Voila 😎

you ever do that i got 200 today giftcard and would tather just eveen 175$ in my back accnt instead. Theres things i buy i cant buy with a gift card. They should run it as a debit with a routing and accnt since most are reloadable.

Venmo doesn't work anymore. Only PayPal if you send yourself an invoice.

Hi Adam, thank you for watching our video. I just tried another Visa gift card, it still works! My card was registered through prepaidgiftbalance.com, I have HEARD, though not confirmed. Even though you and I both have Visa giftcards, they might not registered at the same website. Since I don't have a card that needs to be register on a different site, therefore I can't confirm it. I have no issue with transferring money using venmo for cards registered under prepaidgiftbalance.com, for some reason venmo can't recognize the zipcode that is set by cards registering through a site that is not prepaidgiftbalance.com. Is your registration site same as my?

This guy is twisting thing around. Yes you can convert prepaid gift card to cash via Venmo, but it’s only cards that can be reloaded with cash or transferred to another card.

You absolutely can~! You can connect your visa or master gift cards to your venmo and use it that way, or you can just use them individually without connect to venmo. However, I like to use my regular credit cards for the points and cash back.

Gift cards purchase always count 2X points at Kroger's, but when they run promotions that will go up to 4X points. The points are useful toward lowering gas price at Kroger Gas Station. For every 1000 points, that would be $1 off per gallon. For Chase Freedom, every now and then they will have 5% cash back on grocery store purchases. You can buy whatever in the grocery store and get 5% cash back up to $1500 of total charges, that is a total of $75 cash back for that promotional period.

That didn’t work. But I did try sending the money to someone and have them send it back but it declined the payment to the person. I’m not sure why.

I have a friend who tried it over the weekend and it worked. So the most important thing is to register the card, ie. name, address and zip code. I have also learned one can only linked up to 4 cards in a span of 6 months.

Nope, never had funds withheld. I can only do 4 cards per 6 months, that's about it.

My MasterCard prepaid card isn’t working. I was able to add the card to my payments but when I try to send the funds, it gives me an error saying the transaction was declined and to try again later. I’m not sending more than the balance on the card so I don’t understand
