This Cathedral Cavern is amazing! So many beautiful formations. It is an absolutely mind expanding experience. Thank you for taking us on this fantastic adventure. We recently toured the Cathedral Cave at Onondaga Cave State Park and can't wait to go again. Greetings from Missouri ♡
Yessssss. Especially this one! I was all excited about Mammoth Cave that I didn't think much could top it. Well, although this doesn't go 300 ft underground, it is still fairly epic haha. Thanks for watching! Let me know if you plan on heading out west anytime this year, we gotta meet up! - Shane
Thanks so much guys! Really glad we invested in the newer gopro. Seems to be worth it thus far. :) We do too! Get to hear the guide better and learn more. :) Thanks for coming along, good luck with those 365 miles! - Shane
Thanks for watching! It really is. We didn't even know about the place until after we made reservations at our campground. Glad we were able to find it before we took off. Have a good one - Shane
Thanks guys! We loved Mammoth Caves National Park. Main advantage to this one was less people haha. That is so neat and intense haha. Not sure I could handle 1100ft down. Thanks for stopping by! - Shane
Cathedral Caverns is on the list for adventures coming up. The kid and I visited two last year and are looking forward to a few more this year. Cheers!
Awesome! The bat cave was definitely our favorite part but the whole tour was fantastic. Glad you were able to hit some up! We hope to visit some as we head west this year as well. Thanks for watching and have a great week! - Shane
I love caverns...but I live on the Central Coast of California and have done a bunch here in the west, including many trips down Carlsbad Caverns, New Cave, Grand Canyon Cavern, Windy caves in South Dakota, one in Arkansas, one in Barbados. I've long wanted to see Mammoth Caves, and it's still on my bucket list. I doubt I'll get to Cathedral Cave, so I'm glad I looked up the recommendation of one of Brian Mallard's subscribers on "Down the Road"!
I never knew Alabama had elaborate caves like that. I've done a lot of cave tours and that was a nice one. That's really cool that you saw a bat in there. Thanks for sharing.
We didnt either until we were searching for state parks online haha. So glad we came across this one. Agreed the bat was a nice touch. Strange we only saw the one haha. Thanks for watching! - Shane
It was truly amazing. I've been to some sweet caves but the formations in this one were just crazy cool. Lol yea, maybe it wasn't such a bad idea to bring a flash light afterall :-P. Have a good one guys! - Shane
Great video, loved the caverns, they were really well lit, some incredible features and your guide was really knowledgable. Great bat filming! Cool music too, I take it you got out before they switched off the lights! Have a great week Sarah & Andrew :)
Thanks guys! Agreed, the light really helped allow us to capture the footage we did. I'm sure the GoPro is great, but this was definitely bet lit than Mammoth Caves in Kentucky. It was so awesome getting basically a personal tour haha. Yes, that would have been interesting if she forgot we were back there lol. Thanks for watching! - Shane
I have extremely pleasant memories of Cathedral Caverns, I went there about eighteen years ago with some family I was visiting in Alabama, it was an incredible experience. I _really_ wanted to explore the quarts cave at the end of the tour but it's impossible to get in there without climbing down off the catwalk, I don't think the tour guides would look too kindly at that lol. The gigantic column that was pointed out in the video is nuts, it's hard to comprehend how long that thing took to form.
Thank you for taking us on a tour of the caverns. What an experience. We did something very similar in Slovenia, the Postojna caves and we're spellbound by the structures inside. Magnificent :-)
Thanks for watching guys! That is sweet! I'm pretty sure we are going to take up pretty much any cave tour we can from now on after Mammoth Caves and Cathedral Caverns. :) Hope you had a great weekend! - Shane
The GoPro did a nice job - better than anything I've ever been able to come up with in a cave. Fun ending and pretty neat cave. Could use some of that Alabama temp right now up here in NJ! Nice work, Shane!
Thanks for watching! I was honestly surprised how well the footage turned out. Just had to do a little editing to brighten up a few spots, but it did great. Haha, got up to 82 here in Florida, so we are even more spoiled :-P. Have a great weekend! - Shane
Good news on being able to take the GoPro in the caves and to be fair, it did a great job in very low light. We have a cave called White Scar Caves about 90 minutes away and they take you a mile underground, not been there for years, so watching this makes me want to go back. Now that would have been something if the lights had gone out - GoPro or not lol. Great watch, cheers Alan
Indeed and glad to hear it looked good to you sir! You should totally go back! Would love to see that footage. :) Haha yea, I always bring a light juts in case. Thanks for watching as always sir, have a great week! - Shane
Awesome, definitely worth the stop! There is a RV park just north of there that is fairly reasonably priced. It can be a bit loud though being next to a fairly busy road. So depends on your RVing style I guess. :) Thanks for watching! - Shane
Agreed haha. I wasn't sure how the gopro would do, but it helps that the cave had excellent highlighted areas. Haha, that bat did come a bit close to Deanna based on her reaction. :) We only saw the one, so I'm sure you would be good haha. Haha a great week! - Shane
my dad and his friends owned this cave before the state took it over. it was a bluegrass park. I was 10 at the time. he has actually drove his red toyota landcruiser across the bridge insode the cave
I've always wanted to do a cave tour here in the US. This one looks incredible. Looks like you had some good lighting too. Thanks for sharing. We're new to your channel (761).
This place was amazing! Definitely recommend it if you are ever in northern Alabama! Doesn't attract nearly as many tourists as the National Parks either. Thanks for subbing guys, appreciate the love! - Shane
Oh yes I am there! Since I am next door in Georgia and will probably not make it back to Carlsburg, Alabama here I come(the Gulf Shores are under water). Wonder if the bats hang out in major numbers. Get it hang out. Thanks for the tour. Just need to sucker someone in to going along, prefer a geologist, brunette(senior joke)
Hello and greetings to the United States, i saw you on the channel of a friend of mine and would like to visit you as well. And now i see a very nice video. Great tour and beautiful places! Great job and presented very well. My Like #20 for you and now also my Sub #719! Wish you all the best for the new Year and friendly greetings to you from Bavaria, Germany.
I did this tour recently and there were these Asian guys who didn’t really understand English and wouldn’t be quiet at all, I could barely hear the tour guide. Definitely need to go back again.

Aren't caves amazing? I've loved every cave tour I've been on. The music was perfect as you were running back to the group.

Great cave and tour. A hidden gem in Alabama
Thanks for watching! It really is. We didn't even know about the place until after we made reservations at our campground. Glad we were able to find it before we took off. Have a good one - Shane
Amazing Adventure video.
Thanks so much for watching! We had a ton of fun on this tour. :) - Shane
Fun! Love that place!
I've been here before and is very fun!
Cool a personal tour. We went to mammoth caves in Kentucky. I used to work in a mine 11 hundred feet down . 🤠👍

The footage came up better than I was expecting! Looked pretty sweet... but i definitely do NOT do bats! Lol 🤣👍
