1994 Westland High School Marching Band - Phantom of the Opera

THE BEST YEAR I was in marching band came in my sophomore year at Westland High School. Under the direction of the Hayward's, this year's band had 160 people and won many awards. The DRUM BREAK great. In fact I could play it today if pressed. The people were top notch, and it shows on the field!

I was a rookie for this show. What a way to start high school. It wasn't perfect, the uniforms were SO UGLY but the people made it special.

We had a middle school band with 100 kids in it but high school came and only 10 chose to go through with it.

Aaaaaaauuuuuuuugggggggghhhhhhhh, this is the only part of high school that I missed. Our middle school and high school used to be a joint building, so middle schoolers could be in the high school marching band too. I started marching band when I was in eighth grade, going all the way till the year I graduated. I even got the John Phillip Sousa award at our band banquet my senior year :)
But god, do I miss this. Especially our Halo show. We had the Halo theme, the Phantom of the Opera overture, and Thriller. God, that was one of our best years!
