Clarification: If you pull the loop of the prusik, in either direction, the knot tightens and holds fast. When you pinch the ridgeline and push the knot itself it will slide down the ridgeline, whichever direction you push it.

I changed the line to something better
never thought of doing a ridge line with it
the device was intended as a clothes line
and there is a limit to how much cord it will hold
