    With roughly 150,000 units moved annually, the Toyota Highlander comfortably sits as the second best-selling crossover in the lineup. The latest version offers a plush cabin, pleasant driving dynamics, and typical Toyota reliability/resale value. It definitely belongs at the top of your crossover shopping list for active families in need of space and versatility.

    This may sound weird but I love that you always talk about the material quality most reviews only talk about the tech in the cabin. Keep it up:)

    Just purchased a 15’ Limited Platinum, runs smoothly and would buy again!! Love the resale value, detail to interior, and exterior look. Very quite, and amazing in snow, and rain. Well built, and cost to own is satisfying! Would buy again

      I’m really considering this exact model 2016, it’s beautiful! How many miles did your 15’ have. Were you at all hesitant? The one I’m looking at is around 120,000 miles. Hopefully it will last me a while. Banking on it being quite an investment and lasting me awhile.

      @@dk302948 I wouldn’t be worried about buying a Toyota with 120k as long as you get it inspected by a mechanic pre purchase and keep up on your maintenance.

    Id been going back and forth between this and a 2017 Honda Pilot touring. I went with this model today and Im pleased. It just felt better to me, less bulky. Def wouldn't have bought it for 45k at the time but three years later I picked it up for 31k.

    Pandora and other Applications Like iHeart Radio, open table and others will display on the Entune center stack once you pair a phone that has the Entune app downloaded and registered to the vehicle. These apps are accessible with any Entune system that is Entune Premium or above. Entune Plus comes with scout GPS and XM. And the standard Entune System has only bluetooth. The Entune system shown in this review is the Entune Premium with JBL speakers.

    @Sofyan
    As usual, very thorough review. I am so shocked that you didn't harp on the ok-in-2001 keyless remote that Toyota uses in this $45k Highlander! I also, I seem to remember on the Cruze's vid that you complained of how terrible it is that there is no HID/LED headlight option. While I agree, the Cruze is a $20k compact. This Highlander is $45K and represents the top of the Highlander hierarchy. The Explorer actually gives you LED headlamps standard and it's Limited trim w/ the 3.5L V6 seems to be a better buy than this Highlander, based on content.
    I know that you have a so soft spot for Toyota, but this Highlander represents the laziness that is rife within Toyota. And I don't suspect that the refresh will address this. The Tacoma uses the new 3.5L V6(detuned) and most reports indicate is lost that 2G-FRE renowned refinement.

    Toyota should make an aggressive Sport model of the Highlander. Monochromatic paint, lowered suspension, blacked out wheels and front grill with a slight touch chrome would look kind of badass.

    Great review! It is too bad there is no option for HID or LED headlights. Also, I would have loved to see the LED daytime running lights in the main headlight module. It would have gave the vehicle a much more stylish and somewhat clean look. It seems as if they just threw on the LED's as an afterthought. Cannot wait until you review the 2016 Mazda CX-9!

    I like his reviews to a certain extent. I feel like 90% of the time he complains about a lot of things that he personally considers not up to "par". Reviews should be more informative rather than pointing out areas that the reviewer doesn't like. I have the 2014 Higlander Limited and do you think i care that the leather stitching on the dashboard is fake? Do you think i care how fast the tailgate opens? We get so spoiled all the time with technology that now people complain about things that we used to do manually in the past!

      @cameronmcalister5310 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      guillecanales11 You may be a little misguided. Usually a review is what the reviewer may or may not like and warm consumers of these flaws. Overviews are more what you are describing where the reviewer doesn't put in any input and usually just describes the vehicle in detail. Sorry if I offended you in any way.

    To talk about the interior, it's not going to be luxury quality it's going to be efficient quality. Enough that it'll last for years to come, but still cost effective. Toyota's always been about efficiency, not luxury.

    Knew a few people who owned older versions of the highlander. Functions fine so long as you dont use it like an SUV. The family that used it like a city minivan got 16 years out of theirs. The family that went camping a lot dumped theirs after just 4.

    That was a really great review.
    I have so much I want to say in relation to Toyota now (October 2023) and in contrast to the car industry overall today but I don't feel like writing another novel here in the comment section. I am extremely disappointed with Toyota now.
    This really put a lot a whole lot into perspective for me as a current owner of a very similar Highlander (Limited AWD) that I am extremely pleased with.
    Those seats didn't age very well though, my only gripe and I accept them as they are because I absolutely love everything else.

      I haven't seen the car in person but I saw a photo and its totaled. Police report says he was driving on a narrow two lane back road when his car left the road for unknown reasons. I think it was most likely a deer that forced him to swerve causing him to drive into a tree stump and making his vehicle overturn several times. It was a very sudden and tragic accident and it has really opened my eyes to just how unsafe convertibles can be, especially without good rollover protection.

    You stated that the first Gen Hilander wasn't available with third row seating...this is not true. I worked in the car rental industry and have cleaned a few that did.

      The 3rd row option in the first generation became available in 2004.

    Can you please review a first gen Highlander?

    • @Josh-179
      @Josh-179 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be kinda weird for someone to review a 15 year old vehicle. You're going to have to find a 200,000 mile example at a crappy used car place and test it yourself.

    • @dsi19961
      @dsi19961 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Josh L based off the new highlander, you will always look back into the history of the vehicle. how it was first made, you can now see how the highlander has made it to being successful SUV in the market today. Yes I can go, test one by myself. I actually own one, it is a 04 highlander limited.
