You captured it well. When you arrive from the West on a remote island in the Philippines and smell the ocean breeze mixed with the smell of the sea, sweet BBQ pork being grilled, the sound of laughter, people socializing, tricycle traffic etc. It is intoxicating. Suddenly you feel free for the first time in your life and all of the rules, stress and anxiety caused by Western expectations melts away.

everything u mentioned about the US is so true...mass shooting in schools/grocery stores/malls, etc...its endless and crazy...and all these modern women be thinking how slum and third world filipines/thailand, etc...are, its a joke...there is basically no constant mass shooting or police brutality in these countries like there are in the US....the filipines offer quite and serene, less stress atmosphere...fun and helpful filipinos.

Now a days both countries are not really considered as poor slum infested countries..

However, so many trolls online saying Thailand is the best blah blah blah blah insulting, humiliating the Philippines often dragging down the Philippines even the country is not the topic..
They love to insult the Philippines to make Thailand looked better at the expense of the Philippines.
That's the pattern people always see on TH-cam comments section..

TY for the positive compliments about our country, We Filipinos are raised with high moral values, that's what our parents taught us as well as what we have learned from school and church. You are one of a kind Westerner who is living in the Philippines, I think you can be an Ambassador for Philippine Tourism for the West and Europeans. Hope our Secretary of Tourism will recognize you and meet you one day. God Bless you, Sir Jasper!

You just nailed it, we just had another mass shooting in Louisville, Kentucky. It's getting dangerous in the US to live. I would prefer to be back in PI to enjoy the peace and quiet of province life. Since I'm not allowed to purchase a homesite to build a house near the sea, I might just have a boat built and live on it as well as traveling different islands.
