You have just made my day! This means I can replace the steering wheel and switch module in my 2009 W204 with a later wheel and module, I hate the silly indicator stalk location in the older models, awesome!!

Question please help. I have a w166 ML550 and I got a 2017 c63 steering wheel just like yours in the video but it’s got the wrong buttons. I orders the correct arrow buttons, and the contact plate for GLE and I’m confused about the paddle shifters? I see triangle mount and square mount and I don’t know what I need to make it into a GLE wheel. All the listings show they are for all AMG and then it says it’s for c, s, g, glk only. What about GLE?

But once you actually fit it in the car, there is nothing on the right-hand side of the column. Why is that?

When you removed the old airbag there was two connectors, on the new airbag I see just one connection, where did that second connection come from it didn't show on the new column ?

Find used parts like on video and replace with existing ones. To find steering column without shifter is hardest part in this mode :). worst case you can use one with shifter and dismantle it ( two bolts and one ribbon cable ). Rest is just follow the great video from @CKMCardesign . Preety straight forward job. Wheel mounting screw can be hard to move ( thread is secured with loctite compound or something similar ). Good to use impact wrench and/or extension bar, additional person may be needed to move it / hold the wheel. It is good to disconnect battery before operation to avoid airbag error and due to safety reson. All is just based on my experience, good luck. @@CarterDouros

Just find the steering wheel exactly like on the video with airbag that have two socket ( USA version of airbag ) . w204 prefacelift car have two airbag socket if connect airbag with one socket to avoid error you have to use resistor / simulator onthe other free connection. Steering column i used something like this A2129008319 ( without gear shifter ). My car have gear shifter in center console. But there is no problem to use steering column with gear shifter build in and just dismantle it ( tested ) part no. e.g. like this A2129008215. Good luck

If you buy a wheel without all arrow buttons you don’t need new paddle shifters. Pull the female pins out of the connector and directly connect them to the contact plate. They are simple on/off switches.

The column that is shown in the beginning of the video shows the gear selector on the column the one that you installed does not have it did you remove the gear selector from the column before you installed it

I have a 2016 E400 W212 and my vehicle steering system comes with several control functions like Distronic plus with steering assist, heating steering wheel. So do I need to also replace my steering column to install a AMG steering wheel like the one in your instructional video? Or make sure the new steering wheel has all the same controls functions of the one I want to replace? My E400 has a two tone color interior (Red and Black) so the AMG steering wheel in your video would be a beautiful match upgrade.

I would love to do upgrades as you do to it but I don't know with what other model ar the connections compatible with. I would love to do upgrade on the side view mirrors and the steering wheel. You almost only work on newer models and my limited income does not allow me to change my car, so I take very good care of it even though I can't do all the work of maintenance because of my limitations. I noticed that 0:43 seconds into the video you have a steering column with the gear shifter on the right hand side but on the install, 4 Mins into the video you installed a different steering column that did not have the gear shifter. Why was this done?
I have bought.the facelift amg look steeringwheel for my mercedes w207 2011 , now the airbag from the new steeringwheel does not fit 100% in the steeringwheel and the buttons dont work to and shift padles , i did not change the colom its stil the original one should that be the problem then why the buttons ext does not work ?

Yes flappy gear my w204 is not enabled with flappy gear so if I bought and installed a stearing wheal with flappy gear will it work

Yeah they are pretty rare. They where fitted on manual cars and AMG cars.

I have bought.the facelift amg look steeringwheel for my mercedes w207 2011 , now the airbag from the new steeringwheel does not fit 100% in the steeringwheel and the buttons dont work to and shift padles , i did not change the colom its stil the original one should that be the problem then why the buttons ext does not work ?

Hi CKM, in the first part of the video the new steering column has a gear selector and in the fitment part it is gone, did you remove this?
