It's because of the critics that I actually became an SDA. I was raised Baptist and tried to follow critics logic but ultimately became an sda by trying to prove them wrong in 2016 and started doing public Evangelism the last crusade ended last Sabbath with 10 baptisms. Praise the LORD!

*The Baptist historian Orchard records:* -- *"The real Waldenses abhorred every vestige of the man of sin,* (p. 316)."
A celebrated leader among the Waldenses and Albigenses, Arder Joachim of Calabria, the year 1190, when in conversation with Richard, the Lion Hearted, said, "Certain wicked nations called 'Gog' and 'Magog' shall rise up to destroy the Church of God and shall subvert the race of Christians, and then shall be the Day of Judgment. He says John speaks of the church, that the woman fled into the wilderness where she had a place prepared of God that He should feed her there a thousand, two hundred, and sixty days." - Jones, History of the Christian Church, Vol. II, 5:1, p. 266. (Dugger, p. 145).
*President Edwards says of this people, later called Waldenses, Puritans, etc.:* -- *“Some of the popish writers themselves own that this people never submitted to the church of Rome. One of the popish writers, speaking of the Waldenses, says, ‘The heresy of the Waldenses is the oldest heresy in the world.* It is supposed that they first betook themselves to this place among the mountains, where they existed before Constantine the Great, and thus the woman fled into the wilderness, from the face of the serpent (Revelation 12:6, 14). *‘And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.’* The people being settled there, their posterity continued (there) from age to age; and being, as it were, by natural walls, as well as by God’s grace, separated from the rest of the world, they never partook of the overflowing corruption.” - Edward’s History of Redemption, period 3, part 4, sec. 2.
The following historical sketch tells of a body of believers who fled out of Judaea late in the fourth century, and who by their faith were evidently the Church of God. The Bishop of Ely names these also as a body of Sabbath-keepers whose heresy was condemned by the church. Joseph Bingham, M.A., gives the following account of them: - *“There was another sect, . . . ‘Hypsistarians,’ that is, worshipers of the most high God, whom they worshiped as the Jews only in one person. And they observed their Sabbaths, and used distinction of their meats, clean and unclean,* though they did not regard circumcision, as Gregory Nazianzen whose father was one of this sect, gives the account of them.” - Antiquities of the Christian Church, book 16, chap. 6, sec. 2.
*It is not strange that the church which fled out of Judaea at the word of Christ should long retain the Sabbath, as it appears that they did, even as late as the fourth century. Morer mentions these Sabbathkeepers in the following language:* -- *“About the same time were the Hypsistarii, who closed with these as to what concerned the Sabbath,* yet would by no means accept circumcision as too plain a testimony of ancient bondage. All these were heretics, and so adjudged to by the Catholic church. Yet their [sincerity] and industry were such as gained them a considerable footing in the Christian world.” - *Dialogues on the Lord’s Day, p. 67*
*“Gradually the first day of the week came into prominence as an added day, but finally by civil and ecclesiastical authority as a required observance.* The first legislation on the subject was the famous law of Constantine, enacted 321 AD. The acts of various councils during the fourth and fifth centuries established the observance of the first day of the week by ecclesiastical [Roman Catholic] authority, and in the great apostasy which followed, the rival day [Sunday] observed the ascendancy. *During the centuries which followed, however, there were always witnesses for the true Sabbath, although under great persecution. And thus in various lands, the knowledge of the true Sabbath has been preserved.”* - *Wharey’s Church History, p. 37, Presbyterian.*
*FIVE HUNDRED TO SIX HUNDRED AD.*
*The Flight of the True Church to the Wilderness:* -- It was between 500 and 600 AD. that the Church of God was sorely oppressed by the state religion clothed with civil power, and completely overpowered, and scattered to the valleys of the mountains in all parts of the world. We shall now insert a few facts from reliable historians to show how the true followers of Jesus were indeed driven into the wilderness, where they took refuge in the rocks, and dens, and caves of the earth, yet they rejoiced in persecution, and lived in humble obedience to the will of God, being fed by Him from His word.
*The historian Jones gives an account of the flight of the persecuted saints from the oppression of the harlot church seated upon the Roman beast. His account follows:* -- *“Multitudes however, fled like innocent and defenseless sheep from these devouring wolves. They crossed the Alps, and traveled in every direction, as Providence and the prospect of safety conducted them, into Germany, England, France, Italy, and other countries. There they trimmed their lamps, and shone with new luster. Their worth everywhere drew attention, and their doctrine formed increasing circles around them. The storm which threatened their destruction only scattered them as the precious seeds of the glorious reformation of the Christian Church.”* - Jones’ Church History, p. 208, ed. 1837.
    *Valley Dwellers - Vaudois*
The fleeing Christians who escaped from the wrath of the Roman church and state, found a haven in the mountains and valleys of the north of Italy, and the south of France, in main, although they fled into all nations wherein they could find an entrance and protection from the persecutions of the papacy. Though these Christians were known by many names for various reasons in their new homes, yet the predominating name for them seems to have been “Vaudois,” which means “Valley Dwellers.” From the fact they dwelt in the valleys of the mountains they received the name “Valley Dwellers,” or, in the native tongue, “Vaudois.” The Vaudois, known as such by the world, but holding to the true Bible name, were persecuted for the true faith. *They observed the seventh day of the week, according to the commandment, immersed for believers baptism, and kept the Passover, or the Lord’s Supper, once a year, in the first month.* - *See pages 348, 349, Persecutions and Atrocities on the Vaudois.*
*Gilly says of these ancient “Valley Dwellers,” who had fled from the wrath of the papal church in its early centuries, and were still found abiding under the protection of the Almighty in the Waldensian wilderness in the thirteenth century:*
“They occupy a mountain district . . . and yet from this secluded spot, have they disseminated doctrines, whose influence is felt over the most refined and civilized part of Europe. They . . . speak the same language, have the same patriarchal habits, and simple virtues, and retain the same religion, which was known to exist there more than a thousand years ago. *They profess to constitute the remains of the pure and primitive Christian church, and those who would question their claims cannot show either by history or tradition that they were subscribed to the popish rituals, or bowed down before any of the idols of the Roman church* . . . . In short, there is no other way of explaining the political, moral, and religious phenomenon, which the Vaudois have continued to display for so many centuries, than by ascribing it to the manifest interposition of Providence, which has chosen in them the weak things of this world to confound the things that are mighty.’“ - *Gilly, Excursions to Piedmont, pp. 259.*
From the above testimony we gather that the Vaudois had inhabited these same valleys for over one thousand years, and that they made the claim, which could not be disputed, that they were the remains, the remnant, of the true Church of God, who had fled into the wilderness. It should be noted also that no history can show these saints of God to ever have been within the fold of the Catholic Church, but had remained separate, letting their light shine, through the darkest hours of the Dark Ages.

GOD BLESS THE adventist defense league. I love your presentation of God 's trutt. The truth that sets people free from delusive and deceptive doctrines of devils .Jesus is = truth (john14:6).God the Father=truth (john4:24).The Holy spirit =truth (1john5:6).The LAW(ten commandments)=Truth. Conclusion:Jesus, God the Father, the Holy spirit do not contradict nor undermine the law of the ten commandments in any wise.so,let us go ahead and defend the truth of God vehemently without fear of death (Rev2:10).Any teacher or teaching that deviates from the standard of truth is to be recognised as stemming from a realm of darkness rather than light .Jesus christ is the true sabbath (colossians 2:16).He (Jesus)provides divine rest for human restlessness.God is in harmony with his law.it is the transcript of His character).the law of God is from infinite past to infinite future. The law is as eternal as God himself. Those who think the law ended on the cross are totally deceived. The law survives in the person of Jesus who became the law (sabbath).Hate the sabbath, you hate Jesus because the sabbath, the entire law is one with Jesus christ. No contradiction. Those who make void the law of God in anyway are making God to contradict Himself (see psalm 119:126).God will throw into the lake of fire all those who negate and make void the law of God. Notice Jesus 's remarks on those who subtract the minutest detail of God law in mathew5:17-19.).While we agree that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus christ. True faith establishes the whole law of God. Embrace and affirm 10 out 10 commandments of God in true faith. Why hate only one law(the fourth commandment)and think you can enter God's Holy Heaven with only nine commandments. The nine commandments are not equal to God's character without including the fourth commandment).by pastor Austin moonga, DIRECTOR, THE FUTURE IS PERFERCT MINISTRY, CHOMA, ZAMBIA, CENTRAL AFRICA.

    James Bowen says (time-code: 29:29-31:00):
“But let's take a look in the 12th century: what the hot topic was. Moneta of Cremona was one of the inquisitors in the 12th century who opposed the Waldenses, specifically for Sabbath keeping. And his argument was “De sabbato and de die Dominico”. He makes a distinction there in between the Sunday and the Sabbath. And he specifically uses second, uh, Colossians 2:16. You can see it right down here for yourself. This is the “Venerabilis Patris”. And Dr. [?] commented on this as well. You can see where he tries to use Galatians 4:10 to argue against them as well. Now we did a video on this earlier and we commented how Galatians was referring to, uh, to to the Galatians who were not Jews originally. And returning back to their previous practices had nothing with going back to the seventh day Sabbath that had everything to do with going back to Pagan, uh, celebration of days that, you know, so. It's interesting that this Inquisitor is trying to use Galatians 4:10 but it was not something that that had anything to do with the seventh day Sabbath. And he was also trying to use Colossians 2:16 as well. But he says here against these heretics namely the Cathari and the Waldenses it is that we what we find is written in Galatians 4:10 etc. He doesn't understand the distinction between ceremonial sabbaths and moral sabbaths, okay. and that was that was one of the arguments.”
The listener can draw a conclusion from this Bowen’s statement that Moneta himself objected against Waldenses and used as an argument Galatians 4:10 and Colossians 2:16. Is it so? I’ve checked up the book of Moneta (archive.org/download/venerabilispatri00mone/venerabilispatri00mone.pdf). On the page 475 we find chapter 10 of the fifth book: “De illo Mandato : Memento ut diem Sabbati sanctifices” (About that Commandment: Remember to sanctify the Sabbath day). The 1st (and only) section is titled “De Sabbato, et die Dominico” (About Sabbath and the Lord’s day”). Moneta discusses that Jews observe Sabbath: “Istud mandatum ad literam servabant Judaei …” (The Jews kept this commandment to the letter) [paragraph 1]. In the 2nd paragraph [p. 476] he says: “Antequam ulterius procedamus , respondendum est cuidam objectioni Judaeorum qui dicunt nos esse transgressores illius mandati; cum dicatur Exod.31. v. 16. & 17. quod sempiternum sit atque perpetuum” (Before we proceed further, we must answer a certain objection of the Jews, who say that we are transgressors of that commandment; because it is said in Exod. 31. v. 16. & 17. which is eternal and everlasting). Then, he gives his apology for Sunday observance. At the end of the 5th paragraph he says: “alias etiam festivitates servamus ex constitutione Ecclesiae , idest veneratione sanctorum & in memoriam ipsorum , idest ut memores simus operum eorum ad faciendum ea. Ecce quam rationabilis causa institutionis Ecclesiae ; quod autem ipsa constituere possit , patet supra cap. 6. hujus partis.” (We also observe other festivals from the constitution of the Church, that is, veneration of the saints and in their memory, that is, that we may be mindful of their works in order to do them. Behold, what a reasonable cause for the institution of the Church; but that she can establish is clear above ch. 6. of this part.) And after this follows that [6th] paragraph which is quoted by Bowen: “Contra istud objicit haereticus, scilicet Catharus et Valdensis …” (Against this the heretic, namely the Cathar and the Waldensian, objects…). Who does object? Moneta [as Bowen himself claims]? NO! Moneta says that it is the heretic who objects. NOT Moneta! Against what does the heretic object? Against the observance of festivals of the Roman Catholic Church. So, it is Waldenses and Cathars who used Gal.4:10,11 and Col.2:16 against Catholic Church. According to Moneta, they claimed that it is a sin to observe the days. And then he gives his answer to these objections [paragraph 8, the last]: “Solutio : Apostolus arguebat eos qui Judaizabant, idest: more Judaeorum illa observabant, quae praecepta erant in lege Domini, propter quod etiam observabant circumcisionem ; … Die ergo festi Judaici non sunt observandi, sed dies ab Ecclesia instituti , ut dictum est.” (Solution: The apostle was accusing those who were Judaizers, that is, they observed the custom of the Jews, which were precepts in the law of the Lord, for which reason they also observed circumcision. ... There are therefore no Jewish holidays to be observed, but days appointed by the Church, as has been said.). Moneta never mentions in this chapter whether Waldenses kept the Sabbath. So, Bowen’s statement that Moneta used Gal.4:10,11 and Col.2:16 against Waldenses is not true.
[To be continued in my next comment…]

That's why I check whether my own or someone's else interpretation is biased. I do not pretend that I know everything perfectely right. I can err. But, to prove that I am wrong in my interpretation and Damsteegt is right you should address those points which I have touched in my argument, namely: 1) Moneta wrote nothing about Waldenses keeping the Sabbath [show me from the Latin text itself that he did it]; 2) before the paragraph quoted by you Moneta defended himself against Jews, not against heretics [show from the Latin text itself that he defended himself heretics, not Jews]; 3) in the paragraphs quoted by you Moneta uses Latin words which, according to their Grammatical forms, refer to the heretics and show that the heretics were objecting against the practices of the Catholic Church: istud, haereticus and objecit are Singular; 4) after the paragraphs Moneta defends the position of his Church giving solution as he calls his defense, he don't attack the heretics.
Moneta's treatise supports nor SDA's position, nor Myles'. Both theological camps can not use it.

It’s everything to us to understand this message as a people. You learned the trinity from man, God the Father never ever told us to rename him and call him a 1 god in three. The trinity removes the true Sonship of Jesus to his Father, and his God. We need to unlearn quickly and relearn truth.
      God the Father is biblical.
Son of God is biblical, God the Son is not.
The Holy Spirit of God is biblical, God the Holy Spirit is not.

the Son is not the natural Son of the Father, they are just masquerading a Father and Son relationship. So when God the Father sent his Son, he really didn’t have a literal Son to send. It was only through creating a woman that God the Father could have a literal begotten Son. So Jesus is a Son of himself. It gets very disturbing. It is in bed with Sunday worship. It’s all about who you know and obey and worship.

Easy, if you understand that the years don't follow a number line with zero in it. Eg from Feb 10th 2BC to Feb 10th 2AD is three years. (10th Feb 2BC to 10th Feb 1BC is one year. Then to 10th Feb 1AD is 2 years, and to 20th Feb 2AD is three years).
Using Math, which includes Zero, 2 minus -2 is 4, so subtract 1 for the digit zero to get the alignment with years for the correct answer of 3 years.
1844 minus -457 is 2301 subtract 1 (as above) to get 2300 years.
I know this is hard for some to understand because the years around 1BC to 1AD do not follow a number line -1, 0, 1, so an adjustment is necessary.
I hope readers of this post can understand, ok? I have tried to explain this to Jamie before, but somehow to no avail.

    Bowen said:
“This is Bonacurus who said of these French Waldenses, the Pasagini: “Not a few, but many know what are the errors of those who are called pasagaini. First, they teach that we should obey the Sabbath … furthermore so increase their error, they condemn and reject all the church fathers, and the whole Roman Church.””
What Latin sentence did Bowen translate as “Not a few, but many know what are the errors of those who are called pasagaini” ? In the passage (from the page 212) on the screen there is no such sentence. The first sentence is “Adverte ergo tu qui nescis, quam perversa sit illorum fides et doctrina” (Therefore, you who do not know, Take notice how perverted their faith and doctrine are). After it follows the sentence which quoted next by Bowen (“First, they …). If the preceding sentence is actually taken from the preceding first paragraph (from the first sentence), the translation given by Bowen is incorrect. The Lattin sentence (page 211) is “Qualis sit eorum error, qui Pasagii vocantur, et quam illorum sit nefanda fides et doctrina, non jam paucis, sed quam pluribus apparet.” (What is the error of those who are called the Passages, and what is their wicked faith and doctrine, is no longer evident to a few, but to the many.) Why Bowen didn’t translated it fully? And why he didn’t put three dots after it to mark elipsis? You may say, that I am so meticulous, but the way how Bowen gives the quote is not so accurate. And the next sentence also has not been translated quite accurately. The Latin: “In primus enim dicunt, quod Mosaica lex sit ad litteram observanda, et quod Sabbatum et Circumcisio et aliae legales observantiae adhuc habere statum debeant”. In English: “For in the first place they say that the Mosaic law is to be observed literally, and that the Sabbath and Circumcision and other legal observances should still have a status”. But Bowen simply translates as “First, they teach that we should obey the Sabbath …”. Quite frankly, it is not very accurate translation at all. It is not good job for a translator. The words of Bonacursus are possiblely misinformation, but, however, we should translate his words correctly.
And the last sentence in Latin is “Praeterea ad augmentum sui erroris, omnes Ecclesiam Doctores, et universaliter totam Ecclesiam Romanam judicant et condemnant.” In English: “Moreover, to increase their error, they judge and condemn all the Doctors of the Church and universally the whole Roman Church”. Not Fathers, but Doctors. Not reject, but condemn…

Greetings, if you will examine closer to the citation given at the bottom, it did acknowledge that the start for the quote is on page 211. I fully know that the passage from 212 does not contain all of the quote but that it came from page 211 as well. However, I was highlighting the relevant part in the screenshot to the part about the sabbath. Second, Regarding the translation "in primus enim dicunt".....are we really arguing over the translation dicunt? Anyone can go and do their homework for dicunt and see the history of the word dicunt right back to the word deacon....δείκνυμι (deíknumi). "deíkum, “to show, point out”"..... and it is not just myself but many others who have translated the passage in such a manner. The argument over circumcision is a separate point, though one we can respond to. The point about the ten commandments was the intent to highlight. The inquisitors often attacked with slurs of judaism those who actually believed in Christ and so part of their attacks were to conflate the sabbath with circumcision (as was done at the council of trent January 18th 1562). But as we provided from other sources....it was not because of circumcision but because of keeping the jewish sabbath were the waldenses called insabbatati.
Second, if you really want to make a distinction over doctors vs fathers.....lets take a look at EWTN's website where they state "Initially, the Doctors were considered the Church Fathers Augustine, Ambrose, Jerome, and Gregory I the Great, but the Church added others to the list over the centuries." If you wish to argue over condemnant....as to condemn vs to reject....I would ask, how does that help your case?
But all of this is to distract and avoid from the original point that.....there were Sabbath keepers there.

@@Biblicalhope Hello! Maybe, it seems to the reader of my comments that I'm picky, that I am nitpicking and missing the main point. In reality, I criticize minor points not because I do it for the sake of criticizing itself. It comes natuarally. I have developed a habit of checking up provided information. I have experienced that many persons, even unbiased and fair ones, provide incorrect information. And incorrectness lied in minor details, but they were crucial, because the presenter of that information builded his position on that details. Also, while I am not a prophessional translator, I have some experience in this field and I am interested in linguistics. I nave no intention to distract from the main point of your presentation. I understand why you quoted Bonacursus’ words: to give an evidence for the fact that the Waldenses kept the Sabbath. And I appreciate that you have done a good work in searching in original sources. However, I, personally, need a correct translation and more broad context than it is usually provided. While I understand that in a such kind of presentation the presenter should not crowd it with many details which will obscure the main point, I think, we still shouldn’t engage in “applique” while quoting the original text. And I think that your translation “First, they teach that we should obey the Sabbath ...“ is an example of such “applique”: you cut off the phrases “the Mosaic law is to be observed literally” and “other legal observances should still have a status”, then you glued together remaining “For in the first place they say that” and “the Sabbath”. I think, even if we perfectly understand the Bonacursus’point of accusing the heretics for their keeping the Sabbath, he didn’t write verbatim that “they teach that we should obey the Sabbath”. I prefer more correct approach to the original text: I woud give the exact words and then give brief explanation of the genuine words, but not the “boiled down” essence of the original text. Because we can err in our understanding of that essence it is wiser, I think, to give both the original words and our explanation (interpretation) of them, and the reader will make his own conclusion whether we gave correct interpretation.

It is minor point and it is not so important for the main discussion. But if we will consider it from the point of view of a translator, we should give correct translation of the Latin verb ‘dicunt’. And, please, explain, how the word ‘deacon’ is related to the Latin verb dico (to say, to speak)? The Latin word diaconus is from the Greek word διάκονος (servant). @@AnatoliusAquilianus Ok I see the difference of translation on Bonacursus between J N Andrews and some of the more modern paraphrases such as Derrick's book in 2018, or Knutson, or Hullquist, or Tourniaire (on google books).

One of the translations I see for "deacon" is messenger. If one wishes to argue over whether they said vs teach....I don't find such a distinction substantive to the point. I will readily admit, I have no formal training in Latin and am fully capable of making a mistake. But it is what I have found others say who have such experience. I invite the reader to check it out for themselves. See if it is correct or not. Decide for yourself if the arguing over teach vs say, makes a difference in the point.

Does the Seventh day Adventist Church believe that Ellen White’s writings hold the same authority as canonical Scriptures? I realize many SDAs consider her to be a non-canonical prophet. But my question is, does the church teach that she holds the same authority as biblical writers? Apparently, Myles believes that Adventists elevate her in the same way as Catholics elevate the pope. Which is why he depicts her with a papal tiara on her head.

1:07:17 From a Protestant point of view, that is no different than the grace period before judgment comes. In other words, investigative judgment is an event typology, so recognizing the same event typology in the end times is it necessary to understand the concept of the "investigative judgment" before every major judgment occurs in the bible.... it's such a horrible name... lol

When all is said and done what matters is Jesus Christ who is our example in all things kept the Sabbath as was his custom or else Jesus would have sinned.
And Jesus as the Son of God gave us the 10 commandments and the 4th commandment says: Remember to keep the Sabbath Day Holy.
And Sin is the breaking of any of the commandments and the wages for unforgiven sin is death and the soul that sinneth shall surely die and cease to exist after being thrown into the lake of fire in the end as part of the final sentencing of the lost.
And again the 4th commandment says:
Remember to keep the Sabbath Day Holy.
Exodus 20:8-11 “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
and in Luke 4:16 Jesus went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read,
