Haha... How are you Brian? Mentioning your name and your channel was a pleasure! Never miss any of your videos, I feel like I always learn something new here and there.. Good stuff !! I am planning on moving to Florida in the next year or so, maybe we'll do some collab work at some point down the road if you don't mind?
I don’t usually comment on TH-cam videos, but your work is great! I came from Vtuned and I am super happy I did. You have earned a subscriber please keep up your good work!!
Haha... Thanks man!! The focus of my channel is mainly on a more of a detailed explanation of the process of repair. I make sure folks always learn something new after watching my videos 😉
Bro you are SO GOOD. The presentation, the camera work, your knowledge, the calm music, explanations. Literally TOP TIER TH-camr. I really hope we keep seeing these (beyond repair) frame repairs in this quick of a fashion. Just amazing. Not many other TH-camrs are fixing the things you’re doing. Insane. The paint jobs, the laser work. Literally insane
I think all taken into account, this car really turned out really, really well. I would have no problem driving and or owning it. But a bit of positive critique. if I may? If you check your previous video at 1:26, you will see the parallel bumper gap, on the left hand side - like a good bumper / fender fitment should be. If you keep that in mind and you check this bumper / fender fitment (26:43) you will see that the fender / bumper fitment, is not level and neither parallel: end to end. And THAT, is how you catch most repairs done. And from what I can see, that is the only give away. I am using your videos (and also that of Brian and a few others) to learn, a very valuable skill and lots of valuable knowledge. I was especially impressed by the way you fixed that Rolls Royce, the building of your own spot-welder and many of the other videos you have shared with us. Thank you for sharing your videos with us.
I remember when they opened up that bumper yard and I wondered why someone would go through the effort of taking all the old bumpers off of wrecked cars and storing them. And now I see why. Looks good on this one.
Nice paint job. The spray gun is only part of the equation. The person spraying the paint is the other part. You and Junkyard Dave are the best painters I've seen on TH-cam. Of course there would be others that I haven't seen.
Having a nice spray gun definitely helps, you just don't have to work as hard to get that nice finish. And you definitely gotta know more than just the basics along with a technique acquired through practice. About 22 years ago I used to work at this shop... one time a customer came in that needed to get a side of his car painted and once he found out how much a good paint job costs, he started to complain and say something along the lines that a monkey can paint a car if you give it a paint gun. So then I asked him if he just wanted to borrow my paint gun and do the work himself to which he said: "that he did not have time" LOL There is definitely more to it than just squeezing the trigger while waving the gun side to side...
amazing work, I grabbed those plates and steering wheel holder just now, i did not know they existed! I also grabbed a tire clamp and magnetic gauge for doing camber. I also do the string technique similar to you but i run mine at 0 toe, Cars are set factory 1/8 inch toe in, that is why you have that millimeter toe in on the passenger side. I actually had taken my car to a professional alignment shop, and when i got it back it pulled and the steering wheel was not centered... Imaging having 1 job and cant even do that. After that i started doing my own alignments and it drives perfect 😂😂 and saved the 80$ etc. Please dont turn into goon squad and do Lambos etc. keep it budget and realistic. Its way more entertaining.
I visited my mom in another state a few years ago and noticed that her alignment was off. Since I didn't have any tools I went ahead and took the car in to get it realigned. Long story short, after the half assed work that they did I ended up having to go and buy a tool set so I can perform the alignment procedure myself in her garage after which everything was back to spec 👍😎
Back yard bodywork and painting requires a lot of ingenuity and care in order to turn out the quality work you produce. Your commentary and video documents all the steps and is a great teaching tool. Also, quite sometime ago you had a couple of videos on your project truck. What’s the status of that project?
There is almost an artform to painting outside. Definitely lot's to keep in mind if you want things to turn out the right way... I had to put the old school truck project on hold for now because lots' of other projects got in the way.. But I'll be getting back to it in the future
Learning so much from you thank you!! What is your hydraulic puller setup called? I have a backhoe, do you think that would work? Or does the vibration play a key part? Thanks!
Thank you! I actually did do a video on that, I built the air compressor that I'm currently using. Here is the link to that video if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/YD1dNpelSpg/w-d-xo.html
@@fix206 I actually watched that but the only thing I really don’t want to get a massive air compressor for a small Projects I want to know what specifications are minimum to get good results I want a 30 gallon air compressor? That’s the biggest I want. Also keep up the great work. Your TH-cam channel will grow and it will make you a lot. Very cool to see someone from the 206 doing this.
There are some paint guns out there that require less air to run. I personally don't have much experience with them since every gun that I've ever used I ran with a full-size 60 gallon compressor therefore air consumption was never a concern of mine. Got to represent the 206. I am more in a 253 area, but still 😎
Friend, your techniques are incredible. I have a question and if it's not too much for you can you tell me what software you use to look for chassis measurements
Best fixes on the web, thanks for showing what is possible including re-use of parts! Glad to see you made it out of the active Ukraine battle zone! 😆🤣😉

@fix206 it's real glossy that's why I asked i use good quality clear coats myself here in california I spend about 190 for a gallon of clear and 2 quart hardners I'm looking for a better clear I also fix cars to resell
USC or Upol clears are my go to clear coats. Been using them for years with good results. Nice and glossy and inexpensive. Also make sure to give your panel plenty of flash off time, otherwise you'll run a higher risk of dieback that causes clear coat to loose it shine once it dries...
You doing a great job. keep it up. this is my lifetime dream I also wanted to start this work. but don’t know where to start. I don’t know if you can help me out. Is there anyway I can communicate with you?. thank you very much
To be honest I got one of my cars sitting on the frame rack for the past eight months and I've had no time at all to work on it. I got a lot going on and I'm just not in a position to take on any more side jobs... However I might know a guy who could help you out
Cost of labor can easily become the most expensive part of the entire repair. And since I do all of the work myself my profit margin definitely goes up. I am actually looking to relocate to Florida out of state of Washington where I currently reside. And the criteria for the new place is to be larger piece of property with a shop on it or at least enough space for me to put a good size shop down on. Hoping to make that move within the next year, and since there is really not even a winter in Florida I'll be able to get soooo much more work done that I currently can
Hello, I have been watching you for several weeks, but it strikes me that you must be in a body shop given the tools and techniques that you use. Good evening
All of the work that I do is done at my house. The only tool that I have that I guess most people don't own is my frame rack. It is something that I built for one of my projects a few years ago and now I use it all the time.
That interior is so gross. I think I would have pulled all the seats out to really get all the nooks and crannies... Love your work - I used to do more of that, but not that ambitious anymore. Your alignment method is new to me. I always established a centerline, then used 4 jackstands to set a perimeter. Your way is faster. I don't like the guy didn't clean the body in the windshield area before he put the glass in though.
This interior was pretty disgusting, I've had some cars in the past where I had to tear the whole interior out and even shampooed the rug. After shampooing the seats, vacuuming the floors and wiping down all of the plastic panels the smell was gone for most part 👍
If you were here in Australia, you wouldn't get the opportunity to repair something this badly damaged. Even cars with much less damage than this are totalled as a Statutory Write-off, which equates to a Parts Title in the US.
Yeah, a hit like this would deem this vehicle as a total loss in the states as well. Most of the time I can get a rebuilt/salvage title. Luckily for me this car actually retained its clean title which was a big plus
