I’m happy that everything before chapter 1 is considered iconic. These clips bring me so must nostalgia that no other game has came close to it.

i had fun and the game was amazing before season 4, then too much things started happening. I loved how the game was simple, simple dances simple gameplay, happy childhood :D

Many people say that they wanted to play back then or that that time was better and more fun, but it turns out that nowadays there are also many funny moments, but in 2018/2019 were our first experiences with the game, and that's why that we consider the game in the past so special, so the game today is not boring, it's us OLDS who don't feel the same emotion because we are already very used to the game.
I started in season 4 when i got my PS4, while the core gameplay of fortnite still fun everything else now is either ruined or completely changed, the map sucks (excluding the old locations), the guns play and feel the same, you dont have SMG's like the supressed and the unsupressed in the game anymore, the SMG's where different from each other, for example, with the supressed SMG you could be very accurate, deal high damage, it fired more slowly and reloaded faster, with the unsupressed SMG you could fire faster, deal less damage per shot and be less accurate, see how most of the guns felt different and unique? but now the meta is basically pressing R2 with SMG's that look and play the same only changing some stats slightly, it doesnt take any skill and they dont feel different enough, its just copy and paste with slight differences, and i hate how this game tries to be realistic but that is not the point, fortnite was never meant to be realistic and i hate how epic puts so much enphasis on realism when you can play with spider-man use a kamehameha to kill ariana grande and build 5 star hotels, in what world does this makes sense? It seems like epic only maintains this game alive because they didnt get enough money from it already
it's just not true. It's also partly due to players being too good and that's a real reason

I understand nostalgia. Had some great times in those days too. But just because a game has evolved into something a lot different than it began doesn’t mean it’s bad or lost its simplicity. I would have never started playing Fortnite again if it wasn’t for zero build. And I think the Colabs have brought many new players to the game as well as brought a lot of cool content such as the doom guy, Spider-Man, Goku, master chief, and Nathan drake all in the same title cosmetically. You gotta acknowledge how ambitious this really is.
i agree. u have to consider that most of these comments are made from people below the age of 18 that started playing this game when they were kids. of course their view will be to say that the stuff they played in their childhood isnt cool anymore. thats just how teenagers work. the game is in a great state :)

Personally, I never wanted the collaborations, or any of the wacky things done to the game, and I think a lot of people also feel that way. The game (to me and a few others I’ve talked to) feels like a corporate sellout, and feels like it’s lost a lot of its soul and identity; in addition I feel that it caters heavily towards children, with the higher saturation than before, all the childish skins, and some of the collaborations; and it feels like that has pushed away so many adults from the game that, the majority of players are now just children. They also feel like they’re lacking creativity because they basically keep releasing “new” items by reskinning them and having a function that’s barely different. Also, the chapter system has made no sense, there is no consistency to how long they are.
I honestly think the best seasons were the first 6 of chapter one, although there have been some really nice features added throughout the years!
Oh and SBMM, the removal of siphon, the addition of bots, and a plethora of other things, has ruined the game; SBMM should have stayed in ranked, siphon should have been in both standard BR and Comp, and bots are just a damaging confidence booster.
