That's alot stuff Shawn! I don't have my old game systems anymore, nes and up. So I emulate my past games. It's easier to scan through your games than switching CD's or Carts and saves you a lot of space.
I have absolutely NO problem with how/what people collect. If you want your game collection for shelf art, okay. If you want to play it everyday, that's awesome. If you want to horde all those games because it makes you feel good, then do it! There's no right or wrong with this sh!t and we have to knock gatekeepers off their high horses. I have a very modest retro game collection and I dont play these games every day. And I'm fine with that. I started collecting, again, because I was feeling nostalgia for those great days growing up in the 90s and I wanted to go back. It's all good, do what makes you happy.
I hate that people are giving him shit. He’s absolutely right. Selling individual items on eBay can make you tons of money but once you have a huge collection good luck trying to sell it. They struck a fair deal and I’m sure he didn’t get full market value for it all but I’d take the $40,000 to just be done with the hassle.
Yeah if he wanna sell each item one-by-one would be a full time job for years and then he will have no time to continue as a youtuber. I think he did the right thing. He saved YEARS, and that's a huge profit. Just imagine trying to sell each item one by one! Write down all items as a list, try to come up with a fair price tag, and keep track on each "customer" that wanna buy something. And make sure that the customer will transfer the money to him. And also to ship all items to all customers. Only a few people might live close enough to come and visit and pick the item at his place or outside. RGT did the right thing! I'm happy for him! And also happy for the buyer! And I enjoy the videos related to this deal!
@@cjeelde yeah it made good content lol, people don’t understand bulk pricing concepts I guess. I’ve seen these types of hate comments on a lot of videos, saying people like him cause price hikes for games. But if you can’t afford a retro game, emulate.

Bc you know you have to work with flipping things to make money to buy what you want, yet he could have had a single whatnot auction and got double if not triple his price in one single night and would have known that he was helping the collector community instead of this.... an no matter how much he wants to be Mr Crabbs he will always look like Squidwards angry sister with that dusty squirrel lip.
No hate on RGT. It’s his collection to do with as he pleases. And if there is a value to a reseller, it’s taking a bulk collection of your hands. That said, I am not a big fan of TH-cam resellers.
Reminder: you're not getting scammed if you're the one who sets the price. RGT knew exactly what he had and settled on the price himself. Just like I knew I was basically donating my collection to a local retro game store years ago rather than getting anywhere close to it's real value, but I just wanted it gone due to life changes. Sometimes being able to get rid of a large collection at once instead of trying to piece it out for months is a better option if money doesn't matter to you.

I did exactly the same thing and it was one of the most liberating experiences ever. My place was starting to look like a junk shop. The only physical media I buy now is first party Switch games so I can trade them as soon as I'm finished because they hold more value than PS5 or Xbox games. I have a laptop that I run emulation (Arcade/PS1/PS2/DC/GC/PCE/MSX) with my Series S controller and a PS5 and Series S where everything is digital. People talk a lot about physical games, but I've been through that phase and come out the other side. You think you're going to play it all, but you don't. It just takes up space. Then there's the remakes. RE4, Ikaruga Remastered, Mario Sunshine and Metroid Prime have been fantastic and 4 games I've taken out of my GC emulation collection. I hope to see more. Even though I emulate, I also have 101 Arcade Archives games, 30 ACA NEOGEO games, all of the M2 Shot Triggers, Darius and Ray Force games on PS5, my 360 collection on Series S and all of the Sega Ages games on Switch with all the Live Wire Cave shmups and a whole bunch of arcade style games. I love that M2 and Hamster exist and take emulation so seriously and eliminate latency where others just don't bother. I love the convenience of it all. I can just start a game with a controller.

All the work that goes into trying to resell a collection this big is crazy. I get overwhelmed when i have a couple boxes of stuff to list. Great buy thou awesome collection.
Seeing the whole collection was really satisfying. I also loved hearing some of the background on certain items and games, gives them some real sentimental value. Love to see it, keep up the good work bros 👍
After watching RGTs video of this I finally figured it out. Caleb reminds me of Flanders from the Simpsons. I can’t believe I missed it. Okelie Dokelie!
@RGT85 wow can't believe you decided to Sell your Collection. But, Seeing who bought all your stuff is AMAZING. Congrats to you Phoenix for acquiring this collection .
My 32X finds have been very odd. in my 20+ years of game hunting, I have found very few 32X games, but I found 3 CIB copes of Knuckes Chaotix between 2011-2012. they were just randomly mixed into random lots I got at garage sales.
I've been watching RGT, its a really nice guy, and he said he was selling his collection a while back, because of several reasons. Must have been a though decision, but i know several collectors who have done this, and selling is not the end of the world. Whatever makes you happy its just fine. And as a collector pushing 39 , i understand that sometimes you have to let go, even some items you have fond memories with it. And as someone said, he's happy with this. Also, it was a nice gift Caleb, he love baseball! Awesome video as usual Caleb, keep it up!
Not gonna lie, I'm always going to be somewhat jealous of the RGT85's/Brittney Brombacher's/Pat Contri's/Metal Jesus Rocks/John Hancock's, etc. to be able to own such a nice, large home to house their collections. The vast majority of the high end of my collection is Tetris'd in my living room closet or in the new storage locker I just had to start renting last week. Great colab with you and RGT 85. That had to be somewhat scary driving that collection from Connecticut to Kentucky.
This dude is SO me! I rely so heavily on emulation and an overall digital collection of games and became obsessed with collecting boxed toys. Glad to know I'm not the only one LOL.
That was incredibly brave of RGT85 to take the steps to reduce the things out his life that were weighing him down and not bringing joy. I love the arcade room. And holy heck is that Panasonic cube sweet!
