We sailed on the meraviglia for the first time Feb 2022 during the Superbowl. Had a fantastic time! We are sailing the Superbowl again Feb 2023 with a group of 9 friends. GO BILLS!! Hoping the bills are in it. Your video is well balanced and painted an accurate picture of the ship and you both did well as not focusing on yourselves as other vloggers have done. Great Job.

Great video. I'm on the Meraviglia's 23rd December sailing and looking forward to it. Thank you for providing a comprehensive video. Was also on the Seashore 3 weeks ago which was absolutely packed and made for a great atmosphere. I'm a huge fan of MSC and sail them exclusively over here in Europe.

Good to run into you both on this cruise. I have always enjoyed your videos and this review is well done. I really enjoyed this ship and the overall cruise. I can see how some reviews are negative about the quality and variety of food but for the price I found it to be fine. The stage productions in the Carousel Lounge were excellent!! I would definitely cruise on this ship again.
Thanks for posting this! My work is taking us all in December and I've never been on a cruise before so this really takes some of the anxiety off of what to expect.

MSC seems like a neat option for cruising that's more affordable than Virgin. As a young person I really like the stylings of these MSC ships and I like how they keep things active on board.

You have the first review of MSC that was actually a good balance off Positives and Negatives. A lot of the reviews Ive seen for MSC is terrible, cruisers are not a fan of this company to where I actually canceled my cruise trip for this ship. Ill have to give it another shot to see if anything changes for next year.
It actually looks nice. I am a travel agent and deal with MSC all the time... they are a nightmare! Hope you never need a refund of them because i am about to tear my hair one. 2 clients got the wrong checks sent to them from MSC, 1 client had a check bounce from MSC.

Sailing Nov. 20th and I was a little skeptical on MSC however, I really enjoyed your video and insight. Makes me feel a bit more comfortable. Now, if I can just figure out their requirement for un-vaxed testing...

This would be our first cruise experience and read a couple reviews that said something about gratuity surprise charges and other unexpected charges for other things. Did you experience that and where are they included? Are those for the upcharge restaurants? Housekeeping? Can you opt out of housekeeping?

Every cruise line charges guest gratuities per night, I believe they cover stateroom attendants & dining room servers. On MSC the gratuity is $14.50 per adult per day. (Not sure if you can opt out of cabin cleaning or not, but you’ll still probably be charged the gratuity).
There is also a gratuity on any drink ordered from any bar.
How full was the ship? This will be my 2nd time on mera, i love it. So clean, no nonsense.
Mine was probably 60-70% full, the cruise after mine was 100% full.
Is the bowling alley included or is that an additional fee on the ship?

Embarkation was a bit on the slower side, but nothing too bad. Didn’t have any lines for security or check in, but probably waited 45 minutes for our boarding group to be called

I don’t believe MSC let’s you bring either a bottle of wine or water onboard.
How long was this cruise. Going on a 3 night Meravigila cruise soon and wonder what entertainment will be offered.

It worked fine. While not as easy as most North American cruise lines, at muster drill time you have to go to your room, listen to the announcement and the they call all cabins deck by deck to their muster stations
Do you know if i can add upcharge restaurants for a full package deal?
I don’t think they have a bundle that includes the upcharge restaurants

They don’t really have a nightclub on the ship, they turn the back pool area into a nightclub area.
Is Indian restaurant is here in this cruise
There is not, but there is normally Indian food on the buffet

I was sitting next to you at the bar and had MSC talk when we realized we were on Kristin and Scott’s same cruise. We are waiting to disembark right now.
I am so scared to cruise on MSC. I leave out next week and I have heard mixed reviews. It maybe perfectly fine but I guess I have to experience myself.

On our cruise it was included with the package we purchased.

There is not, but they turn the adult pool area in the back of the lido to a nightclub every night.

There is no nightclub on the ship, they do turn the aft pool area into a nightclub type area on most nights.

It feels more like a watered down nightclub with older music, but they do different themed nights.
@@IntheLoopPodcast just returned from this cruise yesterday and wanted to come back with my overall opinion . Ship was beautiful but everything else especially the nightlife and food BORING AND BLAND. No nightlife and buffet lacked options and seasoning

I've been there before the pool does not look like that especially in the Miami Boat I've been in the Miami Boat and the bull does not look like that

Pull down self serve is free, gelato is a charge.

I was just on there is no self serve ice cream. Must get free ice cream from the pool area bar and grill. It is served to you from 11a-7 pm. Different flavors everyday. The gelato is a charge, but a must not miss. The gelato is superb.
How menacing are the children on these kinds of cruises? On a scale of 1=adults only to 10=screaming on a plane kicking your seat, where does MSC cruises fit?
There weren’t too many on this cruise, but that can vary a lot from cruise to cruise and time of year.
MSC has one of the worst customer service departments. They are completely clueless, very poorly trained and just have no experience serving US passengers. No 2 agents will give the same information. Even worse neither of them will give you the correct information. Even travel agents simply dread dealing with the MSC agents. Their set-up, forcing passengers to link up credit cards after boarding the ship, nickel and diming mentality for everything, limiting interest package to each device you use individually, mandatory automatic tips etc. are all geared for the non-US market and are just being carried over to the US. The only reason why most US passengers are even sailing MSC is because of their competitive pricing and newer ships. However as soon as the cruising industry fully rebounds I can see them shaping up for the US market or going back to their European Markets. They ae simply horrible with customer service, refunds, etc.
