My Priest told me that when a Christian is switching to another denomination within Christianity it's not called converting because they are already Baptized Christians they are just changing denominations. It's only called converting when someone from a different religion or without a religion joins another religion like Christianity.
What do you call it then? Homecoming? Full immersion? The Ecclesiastical Twist? While I appreciate the (presumably) ecumenical efforts of the priest in question, I don't know how on earth a Protestant heretic, fully indoctrinated in Protestant heresy, renouncing his or her devotion to that heresy by returning to the Catholic Church wouldn't qualify as a conversion. To be clear, I'm not using these terms in order to be confrontational or uncharitable. The definition of material heresy is clearly defined, and it certainly applies to things like Sola Fide and Sola Scriptura. That said, many of our distant cousins in Protestant denominations are outstanding people who, by no fault of their own, have been misled by faulty doctrine.
I had no idea you were on TH-cam 😮😮 I just happened to look you up on Twitter X ....I left Facebook and Instagram for a while and was wondering how you were
People converting from orthodoxy just need to make a statement of faith to become catholic. Orthodox baptism, chrismation (confirmation) and confession are considered valid so you don't need to go through RCIA; although it is recommended to learn more about catholic doctrines and their differences to orthodox ones.

I wanted to respectfully put my perspective here for anyone that is interested, but I personally don't agree with praying to saints because it is not in the Bible and is actually considered to be idol worship. All prayers should go to God, in Jesus name.
There’s many many verse in the Bible instructing to involve others in our prayers and that the prayers of the righteous are incredibly powerful. No different with the saints! “Pray” just means to ask, and asking the saints for their intercession is no different than if I were to ask you to pray for me. I’m guessing you have a perspective that we pray to the saints in the same way we pray to the Lord- that’s not true at all. It’s just that we believe the members of the church are our brothers and sisters in the faith, whether their souls are here or in heaven! This is based on the belief from John 3:16 and many other verses that those who are saved “shall not perish but have everlasting life”. Those who have physically died are still alive in heaven! Jesus had physically dead saints appear to him in the garden, Moses and Elijah appeared to him and spoke with him before he was crucified. Clearly the saints are alive in heaven and interested in the happenings of Earth!
@@bluegriffin9453 I understand that not everything is mentioned in the bible, but one thing that is mentioned in the Bible is not to worship false idols. I also understand that a lot of people pray to the Virgin Mary or to archangel Michael, when you can just go straight to the Almighty
@@crystallized23 Have you ever asked friends or family to pray for you to God? The relationship we Catholics have with the saints is like that. We can also go straight to God, but why not do both? The more people praying for us to God, the better! I wanted to clarify :)
Jesus opposes religion - and his disciples - not a denomination - are the true church. HE is the way, the truth, and the life - not any other "way". That's what he said.

Catholicism does not see itsef as a denomination but that it is where all the other denominations came from. Orthodox claim a similar viewpoint.
