It's because he only made the video because the hoyo shills were mad at his hsr one calling him a kuro bot. So he was forced to make a wuwa one too, but the video would not have enough material if he focused on wuwa specific issues
@@Redheisenberg no actually. He mentioned in his HSR video that he was working on a Wuwa video similar to this. I feel like it's just his genuine thoughts and not pressurised by any community.
I already mentioned it under Ryuuku's video but, Yangyang sounds emotionless because of her forte. Strong emotions can put her in a coma or kill her. From the game: "During the event, Resonator Yangyang experienced emotional overflow and temporary loss of Forte control. Fortunately, there were no casualties or hazards reported, though she suffered several comatose episodes due to the overstimutation. Further examination revealed that Yangyang's heightened perception was causing harm to her body through her Forte."
That's such a cool story, and is a great detail to show how the lament is impacting these characters in different ways...I wish they depicted that visually at the beginning of the game then dialogued her sharing the details to create a sense of urgency that this threat is hitting everyone hard - otherwise it's kind of like Rappa from Star Rail where she drives you crazy the whole story, then all of a sudden you learn what happened and it all makes sense and now you feel for her and see the sheer determination to do right when so much wrong was done to her....but even though it had a plot twist, it wasn't rewarding because you spent most of the time being annoyed by the cringe lol
Then that shit needs to be explained in full before she ever talks. AND it needs to be SHOWN. We need to see her actually show too much emotion and the consequences, and why she has to tone it back. Also stop pronouncing the names in actual Chinese, it messes up the flow of the English language and 90% of the EN audience cant even register those sounds (because its Pinyin pronunciation and not English). Not to mention none of the other VA's can ever match her pronunciation so it creates even more consistency issues. This is coming from a EN/CN bilingual, I cringe every time I literally hear the VA's brain switch between EN and CN.
That's not the main problem actually. The problem they all talk in 0.5 speed. Compared to the games, thats the reason i alwys skip the cutscenes. I feel sleepy though. Too many unnecessary dialogues.
He thinks the game has been getting "more" fanservicey when we had Baizhi and Taoqi at launch and Yinlin soon after. I'm actually really glad we have an open world anime RPG with fanservice that's not as overt as say, Snowbreak or Nikke. It resembles a lot of JRPGs with jiggle physics and panty shots. I legitimately DO NOT care for the "breaking into the normie barrier" take. That's just "we want a wider audience" speak. A great way to make your game bland gray slop. I also absolutely 100% disagree about the tone of the game "changing". They've always set out to make a game that was set far into the future, the apocalypse happened a long time in the past and people have rebuilt and are thriving. The threat of the lament can take far more because of this. A gritty dark apocalyptic super-serious desperate suffering-filled wasteland was NEVER EVER PROMISED People think Kuro falsely advertised their game as some kind of "Fallout, but anime." That is ENTIRELY a headcanon. And this can be proven by going to Wuthering Waves' youtube channel and scrolling down to their earliest videos. The CBT teaser and trailer showed Jinzhou and Tiger's Maw not EXACTLY like it is in the final version, but still on the same level as civilized and technologically advanced. There's greenery and structures, such as houses and other buildings. Some of the earliest concept art shown was of Black Shores. The CBT Character Teaser also showcased a happy Chixia running through Jinzhou, with Encore chasing Aalto to try to feed him some of her awful food. They STARTED OUT wanting to make a game with that kind of tone (Serious when it needs to be, silly when it wants to be). LITERALLY ENCORE WAS ONE OF THE FIRST CHARACTERS EVER SHOWN. If Encore can have her Woolies, then Lumi can have her Squeaky. The "dividing the map up" was pure insanity, and not in a good way. It stops being criticism at that point and just being bullshit. Because you're *measuring the color of the map and using it as evidence that the game's world isn't barren enough*. We've had character interactions between playable characters before. They just lowered in frequency. Yangyang and Chixia had lots, then we had Chixia shaking down Aalto, Jinhsi and Changli during Mt. Firmament, etc. I'm predicting 2.0 will be the same way where we get a decent amount of interaction during the main story quests. I also disagree with him that every female character immediately wants to jump on Rover's lap. Yinlin literally poisoned and electrocuted us lol. Zhezhi, Chixia, Verina, Encore are all friends. Jianxin and Sanhia are more like acquaintances. etc. Only Shorekeeper has an explicit romantic interest, Yangyang has a crush that's never focused on, and Camellya's... complicated. I also think that this video critique is less for Kuro to pay attention to and more for fans to pat him on the back because he crosses into insults at at least one point ( insulting Yangyang's VA for eg). Like do you think Kuro will genuinely take you seriously if you do that? I agree with some things (mostly in the first half of the video, like we need more male playable characters for one), but also think he's kinda dumb. I don't think it's good at all, which confuses me as to why people are praising his video as good critique. The latter half of his video is the ramblings of an insane madman.
Its good video, you only nitpicking his argument. Kuro false advertise the game, I like the setting but I don't like what kuro do to that setting. This a game that tell narrative, narrative without tension is just boring story, and that what kuro deliver to us right now, story without conflict. If I want to see slice of life or slow life genre than I rather see anine for that, rather getting baited into false narrative this game (hopefully not) trying to get us into. And if I want people drama than I rather play genshin for that.......I want chixia point her gun at me!!!!!!! Where's the destruction they promising with those trailer they release so far???? I don't want destruction way back before the story begin. There's a reason why warhammer 40k warhammer old world, dark soul, elden rings is succesfull within story point of view, cause high tension high risk rewarding high satisfaction within the story.........
@@lawinheritor5122 You're gonna have to show how they false advertised. Because as can be demonstrated, even when they first showed their work, the world wasn't a barren wasteland. The first teaser for their characters had slice of life elements. Changing things after CBT isn't "false advertisment" because CBTs are made to gather feedback. What's there is always subject to change.
Do not let tourists like Ryuku and Cabinetz into the game. They ruin something and move on. And yes, the guy who speaks JP and has 2 accounts is somehow a tourist. No idea how that happened
Keep in mind that Jinzhou is the literal frontier land in the game. It's the part most dramatically affected by the lament we've seen, the Midnight Rangers are CONSTANTLY patrolling and fighting Tacet discords and exiles, and has repeatedly weathered hordes of tacet discords and the Threnodian (which we're told is stronger than both Crownless and Dreamless) which is a constant existential threat. People don't quite get that post-apocalyptic settings aren't all mad max, that's the mistake fallout made with 3 onwards where it was about rebuilding civilization from what remained (see Mr. House in New Vegas) and not 'everything is shit, and it'll stay that way'. WuWa was never falsely advertised. It was always post-apocalyptic with advanced technology and cities present.
4:07 as a Chinese, I have to say this, if you are complaining about names ( either the game, the character or other ), just so that you know, the feeling is mutual when other( or us) playing your game( or games in your language). It is pretty silly or foolish to whine about that, and not to mention that if you learn Chinese characters from the Japanese, that’s not the game’s fault or problem, that’s your own problem. And last but not least, Japanese game and anime got many places and characters’ name that is weird or hard to read too, many looks like a English name but isn’t exactly your usual English name ( a bit of European), the same goes with the western game! 🤷♂️
It's called transliteration and both languages do this so where are you even coming from? English words are transliterated into Chinese characters, which is how most non-biligual Chinese pronounce them while speaking Chinese, and the same goes goes for Chinese words in English (well English doesn't change the spelling anymore, but we do change the pronunciation). It is completely unnatural for a non-bilingual to hear words spoken in another language inserted in the middle of their own language. If you can't tell why it sounds bad, you might be deaf. Japanese is FAR easier to pronounce correctly in English than Chinese.
from non native english perspective when I statered the game all names sounded the same cos you know english dont have 4 intonations and kanji for distinction. Jinjjo, Jue, Jeshi, JheJi... man, we can and we have different names in chineese and english. Jhinjou could be jintown or whatever. Camelia can have chineese sounding name like Cha me li a :)
Agreed. Particularly I really hate when Japanese VA pronounced English name or word with Japanese letter. It's better to use Japanese word for it or just say it in English.
@@lesath7883 i hv her lol. Ez. But since i only use 4 star weapon and alr max all the levels until 10, 0 resonance chain. Pretty hard to produce big dmg. Only takes hours to win and i even dodge and parry all the enemy attack
Calcharo from New Federation, an unknown region. Why they should add Calcharo story quest in Huanglong? Same with Danjin. Yes, she from Huanglong, but she left this place to find her parents' killer before Rover arrived.
When you actually think about it, almost every point Ryuku made are basically every problem in most gacha games in the same genre. It sounds nitpicky most of the time because his points come off as subjective opinions. Still, they are points need to be put in consideration, so imma just wait for KuroG to deliver, like they always do.
Even if everyone does one thing wrong, it still doesn’t mean it’s right. But what makes it different for me this time is I have hope for these devs. They have been able to respond to our demands and actually make the adjustments we need. So yeah, I’ll let Kuro cook
38:34 The only reason I don't agree with this is because Rover is basically Jesus in the story. And if Jesus came back today most people wouldn't antagonize him. But I agree with the echo xp stuff let us use shit echos to level up other. There is literally no down side to getting that feature. Saintontos is just disagreeing because it's a critique
if that what you think, than people have some doubt or trust issue of rover is more make sense, cus when the choosen one everyone waiting came up i think almost all people will doubt it and ask rover to prove it cus when someone have the power of choosen one show up, its either bring chaos or be the real choosen one sorry for my english btw
@@Neiru_32 Yes and the smartest thing to do would be is act friendly to that person who might be the chosen one or the decadent of the chosen one so you can win him/her over to your side. What would've happened if Scar found us first? But I get where your coming from.(and your english wasn't bad don't worry too much about it)
@@Shadow950hun act friendly is one thing non stop praising and glazing is another. even when you switch to SK she speaks like the maidservant. what are those lines? isnt she a mf timeless being with imense power?
More like "cater to more players than just gacha players", but yeah- I totally agree, I don't think they should appeal to EVERYONE. That would be stupid.
But catering to players SAVED Monster Hunter. MH1-Dos-MHFU-Tri-MHGU weren't popular at all compared to World, which brought the series beyond its roots. Idk what you mean by newer MH being ruined. If any, the series would be dead if it didn't innovate via catering to modern audiences.
Agreed. The very concept of "appealing to wider audiences" is corporate speech for "add different skib tones and sexuality", and those characters end being shallow and plain, in the best cases. 1.x had us explore a China-inspired location and culture. 2.x seems to be inspired in Venice. That is diversity well done.
Anyone who says WuWa's fanservice is "too much for most people" has not played the REALLY horny gachas. And since he supposedly HAS played them, idk wtf he's talking about. Aside from the physics, 99% of the characters are pretty tame. It's nothing you can't easily shrug off unless you're like 12... in which case you shouldn't be playing gacha games, period. Edit: "I don't like guns in my face." Well it's a good thing you're not LITERALLY the character. He's 100% right that the original lack of trust was more interesting. OK sure we could tone it down from the gun in the MC's face, that might be a little extreme even from a story telling standpoint, but otherwise I agree with him. It's just more compelling than "everyone we meet already likes us." Also would've made a great contrast with all the people being wary, but then the Black Shores people totally liking us. He did go a bit off the rails after that, though... Edit 2: Regardless of optimization, I'll never agree with anyone who argues for this type of obnoxious multilayered RNG gear system. He might be interacting with it poorly, but that doesn't make the system itself good. It's at best slightly less sh!t than it was in Genshin.
Yeah, I also think that to understand the importance of the Black Shores' characters in Rover's life, it would be much better if all the previous characters treated him at least with less adoration. This would create a contrast that would make all the other facts about Black Shores (such as Shorekeeper and Camellya being close to Rover for hundreds of years) even more understandable and relevant.
@@Corteslatinodude Because it's popular among those who like to "criticize" Wuwa to complain about it. Just like criticizing the plot (without delving into it) and complaining about the "harem" (which doesn't exist)
The problem isn't about it being more or less fanservice or harem like than any other gacha. The problem is it was advertised as a post apocalyptic journey in a world healing from a massive disaster. But it ended up being.... not that basically. The perfect example is literally PGR. That's the type of story people were expecting Wuthering Waves to have. As for the vibe of the environment heck I'd say Arknights Endfield so far is doing it right. But since we only saw a fraction of the actual game I can't say that the game as a whole is doing it right. I wouldn't say I hate the current Wuwa. I still play and enjoy Wuwa. But it's definitely not the direction I'd have preferred.
Regarding the edit 2... I don't particularly like rng gear system but that's part of the core of the game, you can complain and say its bad, i'm pretty sure most people will agree, but at the same time also everyone know that it will probably never disapear because its a core part of the game. Here its not about the rng part of the system, its about the exp for it. The problem that i have is that if people complain about the exp pods and the lack of them they will do exactly like in 1.3 and have a bunch of events with big exp pod reward and realy little tunners, when if used correctly you end up having a lack of tunner and not exp pod and you have this type of event, its frustrating because you don't need them at all.
@38:30 I agree with Ryuuku here, take the story seriously, do meaningful writing, when no other gacha is doing that. Rover's backstory is already a true masculine founder of Solaris kinda thing and His/Her Amnesia is already perfect setting for a hero's journey. also Masculine story is lacking in the West (cuz culture war) and would fit in perfectly in the market.
@@lSeKToRl yeah a few characters do it...this is coming from someone who has that accent for real (raised with a Peaky Blinders accent and now mixed with an American one)....I sound like an identity crisis and annoy myself even more😆 I don't blame the VAs tho, whoever told them to put on an American accent apparently couldn't tell enough themselves to help fix it!
Breaking the normie barrier? Listen man, at the end of the day, I would have a game that the devs love and WANT to make, which is what Kuro is doing, rather than making a game they don't want to make just to break normie barrier and get more players. They have clearly said that they want to make a game they themselves love and the players love and as long as the company stays afloat, it doesnt matter much. If Kuro wanted to break the normie barrier they wouldn't have so many intricate combat mechanics which are difficult to learn and even harder to master like rotations, intro / outro skills, concerto, etc on top of a combat system which also demands a lot more player skill to dodge, parry, etc than your average gacha game. Even character kits like Camellya can be quite hard to master because of multiple form, unique mechanics, etc. And I am for one glad that we have a combat system which makes us to learn to get good and then makes us feel rewarding when we clear ToA or beat hollograms. Ryuuku sensei is a fraud imo, he says MC glazing is okay in other games but not okay in WuWa cuz he plays other games so he doesnt want it in WuWa, pure hypocrisy imo. Don't get me wrong, people are completely free to like or dislike the romance aspects of the story, but saying you dont want it here cuz you already get your fix on other games, its very hypocrite. Also notice how his entire Honkai Star Rail video was complaining how the story is not cinematic and doesnt have dynamic camera and animations, but hey, in WuWa we have great cinematics, and even normal dialogue is so well animated, but somehow that barely gets taken into consideration here. More hypocrisy. Also, CCs need to focus more on actual issues. Story we play for 2 hrs once in 45-60 days, what we play everyday is the events, open world grind and endgame. The only good point in entire video from Ryuuku was the echo system being horrible, which they need to fix asap cuz its just so bad. I have been trying to get Dreamless for Rover and I have basically been farming Dreamless for 1 month+ now, have spent millions of echo XP, and got only one actual dual crit which I use on Camellya and have not gotten anything good for Rover yet. Also people need to address the lack of events and how there are so few of them, and some like Pincer which are biased towards on-banner characters are just awful... We need some feedback about the open world grind, which is quite bad and repetitive. Why doesnt Mt Firmament and Black Shores have tacet fields? They have much better vibe, music and exploration than Jinzhou and I know many people including me would rather hang out at Black Shores than Jinzhou. Also we need more local smaller bosses on the map like the level 120 ones, we need a lot more of them which gives us more asterites and adds thrill to the exploration of the open world, I am hoping Rinascita exploration is a lot better (pray)
they'll definitely add more red bosses since 32 ish new monsters are gonna get added to 2.0 heck maybe I wish they'll add lvl 250 bosses so they can add more complexity to the game
>I would have a game that the devs love and WANT to make, which is what Kuro is doing The story in CBT 1 had a different tone, a clear indication of what Kuro wanted, but now every character trusts Rover right off the bat because some people were complaining about it. Encore's phrase "Help me, Aalto!" was deleted from the game because some sick people were complaining (NTR). I wouldn't be so sure that Kuro are doing what they want
@@windrosea4628 The developers have stated multiple times on stream that they took the wrong turn with the original story and even they agree that the new one is better and they like it more. You can watch any of the livestreams or dev interviews. Idk if you even played the CBT but I did and it was godawful and did not make any sense. Sanhua attacking Rover while he is standing beside Jiyan, their general, it made no sense and was more comedy than serious lol.
@@TheSupremeMedjay I don't argue about the quality of the original writing, the tone only. And honestly, I don't think they'd admit they didn't like the story after they completely rewrote it which cost them a lot.
@@windrosea4628 You can watch the 1.0 pre launch livestream they clearly say they took a wrong turn with the story and love the new one a lot more and hope the players like it too. Kuro is very frank with its fanbase and it's a good thing. Like in the Shorekeeper and 1.3 livestream they were joking about how their game only had one 5 star support which was Verina so release of Shorekeeper should help. In any of the livestream I have never seen Kuro not admit or talk about their flaws. They are a great dev.
42:00 i guess he want wuwa story to be darker and more serious unlike genshin feel like story for kids, i think it just preference issues, i feel like there's many dark moment when you meet red dude that told horrible tale about village, in the end 1.0-present it still build up phase you can't go that far with lack of material anyway
I agree with him on the echo exp thing. I think the example he gave is exaggerated, and I think you sort of brushed it off as "oh, you're just out of exp because you waste it" but speaking from personal experience, I'm ALWAYS out of echo experience, and I'm very careful to only +5. You said you have well built echo sets on every character you play plus plenty of exp spare- how the hell did you do that?? I've never missed an event since launch, and I craft as much exp as possible every week. I'm constantly running out of this crap, and it's easily the most frustrating part of the game.
It will be okay soon. 2.0 will release new terminal bank level max of 24 and once you hit that all echoes you absorb will immediately jump to lvl 5 can be use as fodder or if lucky and the echo is nice you can save exp and just roll immediately.
I think Ryukuu's point about the echoes was the over-abundance of unused echoes. And not just about the echo exp material. I mean, instead of the unused echoes remaining useless, why not let us convert them to echo exp for the ones that we want to use.
even if you have better ways to save echo exp, it does not remove the problem of not having enough echo exp. the echo exp problem is a valid criticism and should be redesigned.
24:50 they should make the structure of music in open world similar with Illusive Realm, each region has it's own theme and when we get in combat it switches seamlessly to another variant of the same ost. When you upgrade your symphony rank in illusive realm and ost intensifies it feels so good, this in open world would be cool af
55:40 hot take but: I have the materials to level up echoes, but also a full bag of echoes that "waiting to be rolled" but didnt. The problem of this is not about how little exp you get, but how much echoes you get in ratio to how much lvl materials. Just let us dispose echoes for something else, be it anything : shell credits, enemies drops, a build-up to a guarantee substats, ANYTHING BUT NEW ECHOES.
The gathering wives criticism is dumb. Its not a gender thing, its just a typical power fantasy story aspect. The male characters glaze mc too such as during jiyan's quest
Also, not all characters have romantic interest in Rover, lol. And if players delve into the essence of the characters and their stories, they can easily understand the reasons for such attitude towards Rover. But most players simply don’t need this, because it’s much easier to repeat the popular take about the “harem”
Man just reading the title and nothing else it would be a hell of a plot twist after all the stuff Saint as done for him to go "Nah I actually hate Wuthering Waves"
Having "choices that aren't choices" is actually a sin that every Gacha game does. Yes, some of the dialogue changes depending on your "choice" but most of the time is irrelevant, to the point that you can just spam clic on wherever you know the options are going to appear on the screen and you won't miss anything important or make your run harder, get more or less rewards at the end, save an npc or cause their end. There are instances were the choice does change the way we experience the progression of the story, in HSR at the beginning you can say you don't want to join the Express and the game will end there (hilarious lol) or if you reject helping Kafka at some point, you will skip that whole quest line and receive the rewards right away instead. Bottom line is, when the choice of the player doesn't matter, why even make me pick? Just let me watch and listen the conversation as I eat breakfast or give me a skip button y my choices won't matter.
in 1.0 the dialogs between us and Scars may affect the quest badly. If you choose to follow the quest it just keep going and the Scars will yapping about the sheep story (you only have 1 fight with him). But if you choose to fight, all the progress will be skip and you go straight to fight him (in this case you will fight him 2 times)
@Saintontas When He mentioned having two accs at 74 and 75, please remember many CC's have usually a friend or mod to play an account for them for content so they can use later. FYI
Nah, totally possible, got a 78 p2w and 72 f2p acc. Just for dailies consistensies and do events can reach that UL rank not that hard and didn't even 100% the map on both. But doesn't mean it can solely validate his takes about the game tho
Brp ryuuku sensei has probably played more than all the people commenting here. Stop thinking that when someones says some critique he's immediately a hater
20:44 Whenever the topic of gathering wives is brought up, there's always the argument that there's no Rover glazing/fanservice from the males. As a fujoshi, the fanservice is blatantly there in my eyes, so thank you for pointing that out. However, the community (both pro and contra fanservice) always puts it down by saying that Jiyan and Xiangli Yao only respect Rover. We had a date with Jiyan and were given his seed *cough* while Xiangli Yao booked us a date for the whole festival a year in advance. Come on nooow
The Yao one is fair, saying that section with Jiyan is a date is kind of a reach cause if that's what you got from the whole flower thing..idk what to tell you man, lol. I mean It had literally nothing to do with a Rover, and while it was wholesome, they were there just cause they saw what Jiyan went through in that sonhoro sphere. It was about Jiyan's hard role of witnessing the soldiers leave one by one and how he expresses his appreciation of them through that flower. Yall only got the seed part lmao Scar instead of Jiyan makes more sense 😂
@TopTOBiiiii I'm a shipper, it's a date to my eyes idc lol 😆 Scar goes without saying, that dude is so blunt and flirty, it's hilarious. Esp when they kept it same between male and female rover
30:04 tacet abilities are the ability to sense waves of strong emotions, emphasis on “sensing emotions”. This can be seen in real life too where women are better at reading others emotions through someone’s face. For example, you came home feeling sad or disappointed from school and tried to hide it but second your mother sees you she can tell something is off and asked you about it, but men are better at hiding it rather than sensing it so when you try to be emotional to men you got no reaction. And this can be proven through out the story line where Jiyan sensing the desperation of his men in the battlefield making him manifest his tacet abilities that is tied to the emotion hope because he brings hope to his men when they really need it.
How dare this kuro dev smilling and having fun at game awards, taking selfie and chilling when they not winning single awards? Im about to buy battle pass to teach them a lesson
Genshin became as successful as it is now, because they broke away from the "typical" gacha formula. It was open world, had direct combat, and a noticeable amount of male playable characters. And now, that Wei, the CEO has turned things around because he listened too much to the original niche audience, the satisfactory with the game and thusly the revenue from the larger "normie" audience has gone down noticeably.
Agreed, WuWa has extremely mild and tasteful fan service anyway. The idea of chasing "normie crowd" is insane. There's no such thing and the desire to appeal to "broader audience" was one of the biggest reasons of a lot of popular titles and franchises in the west.
@@B0b-k3r yeah, this is exactly what I mean. Hoyo exposed huge amount of people to pretty anime characters and got them accustomed to fan service. It is the norm now. Toning down the appeal of characters will make wuwa lose people, not gain.
to be fair wuwa biggest problem that everyone can see and experience without having to go too deep into technicalities of the game is the story and how weird the pacing is, ever since 1.1 final quest the story direction is all over the place and it lacks direction, ngl kuro need to figure out how to properly write their story because wuwa has so so much potential in their story
Yeah the treasure hunt was very very rough for a casual player. It shut my brain off, Ryuuku Sensei makes sense there. I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed.
On Jiyan asking Rover for advice, that particular one wasn't a choice, but an internal dialogue within Rover. Rover already knows the best answer. Players got no choice. As for branching story missions, they can do this by letting player select teams instead. So like 3 branches (easy, normal, hard) right? Instead of selecting 1 out of 3, say all 3 needs to be done. Player get to select which members joins the 3 teams needed. Player only need to finish ONE of the 3 to continue the story. But after the story ends, the player get to talk with his other NPC teamates and ask "How was your mission?" And NPC tells their story, which allow the players to play that mission to experience it.
I came to Gathering Wives due to the character design. I have been Gathering Wives for 6 months. I love each and all of the Wives I have Gathered. Male wives too. All gacha games are games about Gathering Wives. And anyone complaining about it should go play a different kind of game. Complaining about the Gathering of Wives in gacha games is like complaining about guns and explosions in military shooters.
To me, the Treasure Hunt was a way for Rover to learn about the culture and the people they needed to meet. If Rover hadn't gotten the Sundial fixed, would Mortefi have had so much trust in her? Would we have felt so compelled to feel bad about the village when meeting Scar?
Funny thing I do like harem scene but with content or proper building, Changli and Encore had no reason to be included their scenes felt copy pasted from their character quests it would have been better to add new electro guy (since he was released with Zhezhi and is very popular) and maybe Verina since we barely know her, about everyone liking Rover problem I do agree that gun girl beta reaction was better but sadly many dumb Asian players hated it for reasons so they changed it although i watched Yinlin story and technically she manipulated him and didn’t trust him much until he help her with family issues so that was nice change.
I've been playing WuWa without even caring about those details. I just thought it was normal for some people to talk like that. A problem is only a problem when you think it is a problem, said a wise man
11:54 that's the example he is saying it's fine saint, what he pointed out is the dialogues that are only 1 option, which I agree, at the end of shorekeeper''s quest in 1.3, that chat with SK could have been a fully voiced sequence between Rover and SK without it having to stop for us to choose a single option dialogue.
It's honestly so funny watching all these videos talking about "problems", and I'm here chilling enjoying the game with basically almost no issue lol. I understand criticism and discussion for better future, but like, I honestly stop thinking about any of this as soon as I click off the video and do something else 😂 Also, I just wanna say, having an in game music selection would be an absolute banger. I'd pay for it.
53:16 well im still losing echoes exp more by doing this and time as well its better to just max role all of them then to just do 1 at a time plus I HAVE TO MANY OF THE GOLD DUST THEN echo exp, its to inconvenient to do that then to just max it out level and the substate
(Edit: my wording makes it sound accusatory instead of conveying I'm just thinking out loud and agree with most of what they both said....also sorry I am still sedated from hospital so I waffled really bad lol) Personally I think it is impossible for Wuwa to have a broader appeal without changes and I don't know if that is or should be their goal....but....I think the Genshin killer argument he was making, is that Wuwa is such a great game that the community wants it to have more players enjoy it because they see that it puts in the same (some would argue more) effort than Genshin, but in order for it to have the same broad appeal, going towards the fan service tactics of other gacha games will not attract that broad fanbase. It's not an issue of if Wuwa is good as it is, but thinking like the audience you'd need to attract to draw a crowd big/broad enough to "kill" Genshin. For ppl used to seeing the more blatant fan service stuff, Wuwa seems tame, and although those fan service games are big, they are niche enough that the larger population of people who play games, don't want to look at it and find it off putting. You see it in games of all genres, the more towards adult content you get in games, the less of a global phenomenon it will be and you have to be ok with that reality if thats the direction you take (you can still be big and popular, but you won't be AS big as a game that bridges ages/genders/ease of use). It doesn't matter if you agree with differing views or if you sit somewhere in the middle, because the problem isn't whether Wuwa is great as it is or if YOU like it as it is - the issue is if you want the game to appeal to a bigger audience like Genshin does then those are the the preferences of a large portion of the player base that help make games like Genshin so popular. The reality is, Wuwa chose to also place a lot of importance on open world building and story and most combat-only focus players want the skip button for a reason...they don't care lol. But if you present yourself as an open world / story game as well as the combat, then the kind of players who like World/Story/Combat as a more cohesive whole experience, will want each of them to be great - otherwise just be a combat only game or keep it the way it is, which is absolutely fine, but you won't expand playerbase as much (if that's a goal at all). From what I've noticed, in my opinion - Wuwa is combat first and because the combat is more intense and intricate, it is very intense for the majority of Genshin players (most players don't do Spiral Abyss), so even if the story/character design of Wuwa appealed to that audience - the combat is too much for the most casual Genshin players (and that's ok, games are meant to appeal to what you find fun), so the story/characters need to be SO GOOD as a stand-alone to those players ,that it's worth avoiding combat altogether, or the combat needs to be more approachable and if Genshin combat already fails to do that, then I don't know how Wuwa could bridge that gap (considering you have to fight to build characters and progress story). but likewise, those who love the combat often don.t care equally about story/easy overworld puzzles/collecting items....and yet, Wuwa offers both so they are in a tricky position because the story and world is not appealing enough to grip those who predominantly love that to the same degree as Genshin (not saying Genshin does it perfectly at all). So many Genshin players log in JUST for story and running around the world to relax - people might find that silly, but that's why all those details about music, visuals, adventure feel, story depth expectations for them are approached with the same level of of excitement/expectation as players who are enthralled by the kit and combat playfeel of the characters/bosses. So yeah, to combat focused players, the story is deep enough, the music isn't a big enough deal and there's nothing else needed.....but to them, that is akin to saying that the Genshin combat is challenging enough.....both extremes sound bizzarre to each other, and yet, they are both valid if a game is trying to appeal to both. His idea about respawning the chests and your reaction Saint is a great highlight of the contrast of what draws people in. Some of use weirdos love to have a reason to revisit areas and we love collecting things....I can't explain it, I just love the adventure of running around gathering stuff just as much as I like the fighting. Similarly, the music issue seems nit picky - but people who love music can see huge differences where you might think "close enough" - One of the biggest draws for ppl in Genshin is the music and the emotions it can powerfully evoke enough that they just want to linger there and enjoy it, even with nothing else to do. And, well, Wuwa chose to create an open world with thematic music that changes through region...and if you are going to appeal to players who want to be immersed in a world you run around in, instead of sticking to the domain format of a lot of combat focused games.....then you have to do it well else its a chore to those who just want combat, or its lack luster to those who want the adventure of open world. And it's ok if their goal isn't to do both equally - players who enjoy what it is now can continue to do so, it just won't appeal beyond that. Just like you Saint, can see the HUGE difference it makes to combat when people generalize/overlook mechanics and fail to see kit details that are obvious to you...those details matter and you see it, just like they see the details that matter to story/world-feel that might seem overly critical. Both extremes have solid points, we just all are engaged by different aspects of the game and a broad audience of players means that all those aspects need the same level of investment otherwise you will only maintain players for whatever you do best (and that's ok too). Sorry I wrote a novel. The real question is......does Wuwa need to appeal to a broader audience or should it just stick to a more niche (but still big) audience? But that's where the middle road issue becomes apparent - do most combat-centric players like long story quests? because if you don't make the story more appealing to story lovers, then you just end up torturing the combat players who came just for the combat and the skip button (because players who like both might not make up enough of the majority). I dunno just my take End of the day, it's what appeals to the culture that makes them the most money anyway ha
I like yangyang voice and i think it suits her pretty well. She is gentle, caring and sensitive person, her voice is literally telling you this i and adore her so much. Same goes to chixia, i love them both
in the echo system, i think they can add the substats information in the moment you get the echoes, then you can choose if upgrade or not, in that way they don't need to work on how to give us more materials, Like NTE
55:38 genshin artifacts system is the 1 thing that's way better than wuwa echo system. No matter how efficient you wanna be at echo leveling. The fact that they are not usable as fodder at level 0 and need 2 different resources to be useful is trash. I rather trade the ability to farm echos for free in overworld for a copy paste genshin artifact system. Atleast the artifacts substats unlock alongside the artifact leveling up and I can also use all the Grey green blue and purple rarity artifacts to level up my gold rarity ones even if they are level 0.
Having an "optimal" way to try to save some echo experience doesn't mean they are giving you enough experience. 2 days of farming for 1 max level echo that isn't trash is wild. And you need at least 45 for 3 teams.
His point on 16:25 has described one game and it didn't sit well with me since that specific game didnt make the story interesting i mean you could find it interesting but the idea of a dialogue and menu in choosing it would kinda suck if it spoils which difficulty you had to choose i mean if they applied that specific southpark option/interaction with said slider but with dialogue choices in difficulty it would kinda work.(I mean wuwa has a lot of references towards memes, why stop there yah know?)
We already have to deal with 4+ layers or rng per echo. So why do we have to deal with the echo tuners or at least I hope they make the echo level up process less tedious.
Gathering wives issue is that people that see the harem will completely invalidate any character or story and reduce it to "she just horny for rover duuh". Best example being camellya
I used the method. And it still feels like trash. It really doesn't give enough exp. And its something that we were warned about from the start. So I do feel like a dragon hoarding gold when It comes to exp.
not sure if it was already mentioned but using rover against scar and I think crownless when their stagger bar is broken will allow an execution animation.
35:33 "Waaah waaah normies don't like fanservice! We need to tone down the fanservice so that the normies won't be turned off by Wuwa! I want more insufferable normies in my community!" This guy is a complete idiot lol. No thanks, I don't want Wuwa to change for the sake of mainstream appeal. It's perfectly fine as it is right now.
THANK YOU. This is what's been happening to hoyo nack when it's still mihoyo. HI3rd had such a nice community back then before the genshin tards start pouring in
I totally support this. Anyone who complains about characters showing too much skin need a trip to the beach. Or the mall. Some people show a lot of skin in daily life.
In reality normies do like fanservice, they are just too scared to be called "gooner" by other normies or puritans. fanservice sells no matter how much the majority of people says that it doesn't.
i'd agree if the they said the game lacks male, but to down the fanservice? hell no the game already too safe in fact, what else they want to tone it down? to mihoyo with bubble diaper level? 😅
one cool addiction would be that monster drops lower tier echo exp materials when you kill them, at a 50% rate. So that farm get rewarded , you farm more echoes and can slowly level them up. Let's be honest, even tho "echo exp" its okish, we all would like to have a bit more and more stuff to do to play more. and farming monsters for echo exp would be just perfect in my opinion. Or even better, Eschos that are equipped, get EXP when we kill monsters slowly leveling up, so we can just exterminate the whole map if we wish too, with lower stats making the fights harder AND having a feeling of building up something. wouldn't that solve many problems? XD
22:44 I disagree. You can categorize these past missions/quests in a certain part of the UI and not distract the player in any way, like how the language selector is. Clicking/Scrolling through wouldn't make much of a difference anyway. Sure you can make some exceptions, like quests related to specific events. Edit: It would be better to finish one of his points before reacting, that way, you can fully understand the point before making your argument. You keep pausing while he's still in the middle of his argument and that results in you not getting the full context of where he is coming from.
tbh i also have a problem with the echo system, i am UL77 and i have 30-40 double crit echoes 1800 locked echoes with potential and over 600 golden tuners and 500 epic ones and no reason to ever use them cuz i destroy the TOA with my current stuff (and yes i also use xiangli yao on lingering had a good set on the calculator so just moved it on)
The problem I have in this game is that it seems like I'm the only player who has problem with weekly boss mats. Seriously, they need to remove the limit of that, I want all my 4 star characters to have level 10 skills across the boards lol. The limited run is nonsense anyway because of the high cost of upgrading. No player can abuse that except me who won't run tacet fields if they do not limit it lol.
Something must be done about the echo system. I have PTSD from Genshin farming artifacts domains for months... I dont know what can be done. But definitely needs some improvement
I wouldn't think much about New Federation cuz even Verina and Mortefi are from there, and a few others too Feels more like an organization or just a small town than a whole nation
38:46 - DAMM this makes me so salty. While I was always leaning WAY more to Saintontas' side for most of the points, for this I'm 1000% with Ryuuku! I agree with this ENTIRE point. Getting a gun shoved in ur face min 1 is an IMMEDIATE ask for investment and imo it woulda been SOOO good for me personally if they kept the tension high in the first half of the 1.0 story. In fact, I just died a little inside knowing that we COULD have had that but then it was changed later... I already like Chixia, and I DON'T think it's out of character for her to take her job seriously and be extra wary of outsiders. Chixia's character trait, if done right, can be called "upbeat" with a positive connotation rather than "childish" - which I'm not a fan of at all. I really like this character type but too many times it either starts off as or devolves into the later which is very disappointing.
How is Calcharo the hardest character in the game? I often hear this, but to me, he is my favorite button smash kill everything character. I hardly use any strategy when fighting (I'm not much of a fighter), but even I notice if a kit is complicated to use and his isn't one. For example, I still haven't figured out how to work with Mortefi's kit.
When I had to get those 3 trinkets and I started using that skip button. You going to hit me with one of those Destiny 1 lines? Naw I'm skipping. "I don't have time to explain about not having time to explain"
Idk man that take on the options you made was bad you @13:47 you said if you chose the wrong one you wont advance the quest with that being said why even give us options to pick? Our choice quite literally didn't matter we had to pick the one they wanted that means the choices was a waste of time and could of been skipped. And the Encore one doesn't change anything but a name being the leader or not doesn't change the outcome of anything but what they call you the quest plays the same. I'm glad this community is able to have these critiques about things and it doesn't lead to war.
imo I actually quite liked that part of the story. While I would like to have more branching options, the way I understood the story was that Rover recently woke up with a loss of memory and was given the option to decide how the battle would be done. However some options would not be a good choice and the story explains some of the reasons as to why that option is a bad choice. I would have not liked that part as much if they just told Rover that they were wrong and continued until the right option was selected.
about the music wen battlin maybe they can do it like in zelda when fighting the giant robot they play a music too and its actually a fast fight too but they play a outro music after defeating it and a exxplotion sound at the end maybe they can do it like that too?
maybe try minmaxing your crit a bit? my XLY can crit up to 180k if I did rotation right (my team is XLY - Yinlin no signature with tutel echo - SK no signature with Fallacy)

70% of critiques were just Gacha problems in general. I wish Ryuku addressed specifically WuWa related issues more. Great video regardless
It's because he only made the video because the hoyo shills were mad at his hsr one calling him a kuro bot. So he was forced to make a wuwa one too, but the video would not have enough material if he focused on wuwa specific issues
I’d say 50% not 70%
Honestly very true
@@Redheisenberg no actually. He mentioned in his HSR video that he was working on a Wuwa video similar to this. I feel like it's just his genuine thoughts and not pressurised by any community.
Gathering wives allegation, kuro marketing this game to be not normie game you know......
I already mentioned it under Ryuuku's video but, Yangyang sounds emotionless because of her forte. Strong emotions can put her in a coma or kill her.
From the game:
"During the event, Resonator Yangyang experienced emotional overflow and temporary loss of Forte control. Fortunately, there were no casualties or hazards reported, though she suffered several comatose episodes due to the overstimutation. Further examination revealed that Yangyang's heightened perception was causing harm to her body through her Forte."
kuro need explain that from begining like MC ask her why she talk like that or something then she explain why
I bet both my balls that they can make her sound significantly better without messing with her lore. Sounding bad doesn't equate to speaking softly.
Thanks for the react Saintontas! Even though we disagree on a few things, it's great to have these conversations😁
oh hi there mate...didnt expext you to be hidden in the comments
WUWA's Problems are clear... But at least they're trying To fix everything and as fast as possible unlike its predecessors... 😅💀

A gritty dark apocalyptic super-serious desperate suffering-filled wasteland was
NEVER
EVER
PROMISED
People think Kuro falsely advertised their game as some kind of "Fallout, but anime."
That is ENTIRELY a headcanon.
I ain’t reading all that lil bro 😭🙏
@ 🤣 don’t be that 🤡, seriously! 😒
from non native english perspective when I statered the game all names sounded the same cos you know english dont have 4 intonations and kanji for distinction.

I agreed on everything except the "catering to as many players as possible"
Like that hasn't ruined franchises (Persona, Monster Hunter)
More like "cater to more players than just gacha players", but yeah- I totally agree, I don't think they should appeal to EVERYONE. That would be stupid.
But catering to players SAVED Monster Hunter. MH1-Dos-MHFU-Tri-MHGU weren't popular at all compared to World, which brought the series beyond its roots.
Idk what you mean by newer MH being ruined. If any, the series would be dead if it didn't innovate via catering to modern audiences.
How has catering to a plethora of audiences ruined Persona? Genuinely curious
Agreed.
The very concept of "appealing to wider audiences" is corporate speech for "add different skib tones and sexuality", and those characters end being shallow and plain, in the best cases.
1.x had us explore a China-inspired location and culture.
2.x seems to be inspired in Venice.

@@lesath7883 Just throw words in my mouth why don't you?
This would create a contrast that would make all the other facts about Black Shores (such as Shorekeeper and Camellya being close to Rover for hundreds of years) even more understandable and relevant.
compared to ZZZ, Wuwa is very tame. Nothing like Nikkie and such. I don't why he even complain about that.
Rover's backstory is already a true masculine founder of Solaris kinda thing and His/Her Amnesia is already perfect setting for a hero's journey. also Masculine story is lacking in the West (cuz culture war) and would fit in perfectly in the market.
fun fact, during the moon something festival, you can see danjin there and can get a selfie with her
I love yang yang's voice. Shifting back and forth between British accent is what killed it for me.
@@lSeKToRl yeah a few characters do it...this is coming from someone who has that accent for real (raised with a Peaky Blinders accent and now mixed with an American one)....I sound like an identity crisis and annoy myself even more😆
I don't blame the VAs tho, whoever told them to put on an American accent apparently couldn't tell enough themselves to help fix it!
>I would have a game that the devs love and WANT to make, which is what Kuro is doing
The story in CBT 1 had a different tone, a clear indication of what Kuro wanted, but now every character trusts Rover right off the bat because some people were complaining about it.
Keep going Saint!!! I’m cheering for you!
I mean, instead of the unused echoes remaining useless, why not let us convert them to echo exp for the ones that we want to use.
not even getting enough EXP to level 1 echo a day is diabolical
even if you have better ways to save echo exp, it does not remove the problem of not having enough echo exp. the echo exp problem is a valid criticism and should be redesigned.

15:32 bro its the same in elden ring people cuss mage build because they view it as easy mode even thou the difficulty are the same
Nah wuwa community is not mad about it actually kurobot appreciate it because it can make the game better because dev listens.
in 1.0 the dialogs between us and Scars may affect the quest badly.
Yall only got the seed part lmao
Scar instead of Jiyan makes more sense 😂

Genshin became as successful as it is now, because they broke away from the "typical" gacha formula. It was open world, had direct combat, and a noticeable amount of male playable characters. And now, that Wei, the CEO has turned things around because he listened too much to the original niche audience, the satisfactory with the game and thusly the revenue from the larger "normie" audience has gone down noticeably.
The latter half of the video makes no sense tbh. Ranting about WuWa's fan service is just odd.
Zzz fan service puts us to shame
Agreed, WuWa has extremely mild and tasteful fan service anyway. The idea of chasing "normie crowd" is insane. There's no such thing and the desire to appeal to "broader audience" was one of the biggest reasons of a lot of popular titles and franchises in the west.
@@FeroxV genshin totally got the normie crowd now if that was good for the fanbase is another discussion
@@B0b-k3r Yup, if RS wants normie so much he can go back to Genshin lol

to be fair wuwa biggest problem that everyone can see and experience without having to go too deep into technicalities of the game is the story and how weird the pacing is, ever since 1.1 final quest the story direction is all over the place and it lacks direction, ngl kuro need to figure out how to properly write their story because wuwa has so so much potential in their story

Like Ryuuku said, gacha originally had nothing to do with fanservice. So I'll complain idc lol
30:05 we got a lore of a secret fire squad thing in the story of xiangli yao father
I loved how you can use the dialog options to skip the sheep story. But I'm guessing that was skipped over on his playthroughs o.O
All modern game dialogue systems are like that.
The illusion of choice.
But coding the different outcomes takes too much writing and coding.
It's honestly so funny watching all these videos talking about "problems", and I'm here chilling enjoying the game with basically almost no issue lol. I understand criticism and discussion for better future, but like, I honestly stop thinking about any of this as soon as I click off the video and do something else 😂
Also, I just wanna say, having an in game music selection would be an absolute banger.
(Edit: my wording makes it sound accusatory instead of conveying I'm just thinking out loud and agree with most of what they both said....also sorry I am still sedated from hospital so I waffled really bad lol)
Personally I think it is impossible for Wuwa to have a broader appeal without changes and I don't know if that is or should be their goal....but....I think the Genshin killer argument he was making, is that Wuwa is such a great game that the community wants it to have more players enjoy it because they see that it puts in the same (some would argue more) effort than Genshin, but in order for it to have the same broad appeal, going towards the fan service tactics of other gacha games will not attract that broad fanbase.
I dunno just my take
End of the day, it's what appeals to the culture that makes them the most money anyway ha

in the echo system, i think they can add the substats information in the moment you get the echoes, then you can choose if upgrade or not, in that way they don't need to work on how to give us more materials, Like NTE
Saint I'm sorry but I think Ryuuku Sensei has now outranked you in the Kurobot leaderboards those excel spreadsheets were legit lol
I only have Echo Leveling up problems and everything else is bearable and even enjoyable
Ngl I muted the music for WuWa after a hour. Forgot it had oat till this video lol
I used the method. And it still feels like trash. It really doesn't give enough exp. And its something that we were warned about from the start. So I do feel like a dragon hoarding gold when It comes to exp.

one cool addiction would be that monster drops lower tier echo exp materials when you kill them, at a 50% rate.
XD
Bruh where's Lumi guide? Miss the time you did Character guide. I hope you will still continue that 🤧
22:44 I disagree.

Something must be done about the echo system. I have PTSD from Genshin farming artifacts domains for months...
I dont know what can be done. But definitely needs some improvement
I wouldn't think much about New Federation cuz even Verina and Mortefi are from there, and a few others too
Feels more like an organization or just a small town than a whole nation
38:56 ask people who like Inazuma because we nearly got murder by Raiden shogun.
jajajajajajajaja
Ryuku just called me a troglodyte for disagreeing with him.
Is that the authority people look up to?
What a joke.
I would have not liked that part as much if they just told Rover that they were wrong and continued until the right option was selected.
about the music wen battlin maybe they can do it like in zelda when fighting the giant robot they play a music too and its actually a fast fight too but they play a outro music after defeating it and a exxplotion sound at the end maybe they can do it like that too?
jack in the box
Wouldn't say the re:zero part is spoilers, since its something that is on the internet for basically 8 years.
ngl the PGR soundtrack rofl stomps pretty much all other ost's out there
23:21 I tried my best with XLY but he only does 100k lib damage
maybe try minmaxing your crit a bit? my XLY can crit up to 180k if I did rotation right (my team is XLY - Yinlin no signature with tutel echo - SK no signature with Fallacy)
27:23 Many people on forums give exactly the same advice while laughing. Then cry cry out loud if anything else breaks their immersion in game.
So now the wuwa community wants kuro games to tighten up a bit ?????
Don't you think the game dev is gonna get confused ?
Saint bro, you were a bit too defensive. Most of his picks were quite impactful and valid
48:30 uhmmm... spoiler alert, Rinascita isnt always bright and fun...
Yeah, like saint said. I disagree all of this but i get his point tho.
