Since Dexter‘s birthday was awhile ago:I feel I can write to you now. Last year you both celebrated Dexter‘s birthday and we all were watching with excitement . This year I was waiting excitingly and nothing happened. I know he’s not my dog but I feel like he is my Narrowboat dog. My dog passed away couple years ago so Dexter fills my heart with joy. Just wanted you both to know this.
Hey Pamela. His birthday is 31st October so he hasn’t had it yet this year. Sorry to hear about your loss. They fill a massive part of our lives and leave such a huge void. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤️
Hey Guys- I SO admire your positivity in the face of life's challenges! The boat tours were interesting, but I much prefer Morning Star. It is your home & where our hearts are. Big hugs to you both & a special hug for our sweet Dexter. ❤️🐾❤️
Thanks Kathy. We were just relived to get home. The show was great. Good to be able to speak to other owners. Thank you for hugs. Have a lovely weekend ♥️
Really interesting guys but I’m still not convinced we’re far enough into the knowledge for fully electric, but hell I’ve no experience I’m just going on what I watch. I think you two are very brave. Love to the three of you, cuddles for Dex. 🥰
Hey Pauline. Glad you enjoyed. Having talked to some of the owners at the show, some are getting amazing results, quartering their diesel consumption compared to their diesel counterparts. It is a trailblazing tech and someone has to be the first I guess. Hope you have a lovely weekend , love from all three of us.♥️
Nice to see Pink Hat Man and Elektra. Such a lovely community you are part of. I’m so sorry the weekend started and finished so stressfully for you both. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 that’s it for 2024 now!🥰🥰
Hey Lesley. We do feel lucky to be part of this amazing community. The show was fab. Really enjoyed. Always good to get back home though. Have a lovely week ❤️
Oh what a day you had, you must have thought when Anthony came in the hire car nothing else can happen and then it did. Thanks to the three of you for making this week's vlog. Dexter is such a sweet boy but he's been very lucky to have such kindly owners. Have a good weekend my friends ❤Stephen.
It was quite the weekend Stephen. Hopefully that is our streak of bad luck over with. Glad you enjoyed the vlog. Dexter is amazing for his age. His aging breaks my heart. Hope you have a lovely weekend ♥️
Hi, gentlemen! What an adventure you had with the camper van. Not surprising how many of your friends offered to help. Your community is primo. The future of electric boats seems solid. Have a fantastic week! 💚💚💚
Hey Julia. We are really blessed to be part of such a wonderful community. The troubles that weekend just seemed never ending. Glad we made it to the show though. It was great. Have a fab week too ♥️
Hey Marilyn. It was quite the weekend, fingers crossed that is our streak of bad luck over. The gas bubble in Paul’s eye has completely gone now, which is fabulous. It is always nice to get home. Nothing like your own bed. Have a lovely week ❤️ .
0MG! Thank goodness for the boating community, so many lovely people willing to pitch in and help. Enjoyed the electric boat show; thanks for taking us along. Hope your lives are settling down a bit! 🤩
Absolutely. We have amazing people around us. The boat show was good for us. We were able to chat to other electric boat owners. Glad you enjoyed. Have a lovely week ❤️
Hey Terence. There were some incredible features on the boats. Love looking around other people’s boats. The electric boat set up does mean a lot of normal household appliances are possible. Hope you have a lovely weekend ♥️
Hey James. Pink Hat Man is so enthusiastic. His boat is lovely inside. Josh gave a great interview on his product. Such a nice guy too. Have a lovely weekend ♥️
Sorry for the flat and getting home so late. You guys always seem to just get with it and carry on, keeping a positive attitude. I keep sweet, little Dexter in my thoughts.
Hi guys and Dexter. What an anxious time you had, and what a wonderful kind people the boat community are. When paul was explaining at the beginning just wished i could give him a hug. Apart your difficult start nice to see other boats. Loved looking inside the them. I hope things have calmed down abit and you are both able to relax. Also take care of that eye paul. Have a good week and give Dexter a hug from us. I would love a dog, just trying to get my husband round to the idea. So love seeing Dexter.
Thanks Christine. It was quite the weekend. It was great to see other electric boat owners though and have a nosey. The gas bubble has finally cleared from Paul’s eye, which is great. We love Dexter so much. It is heart breaking watching him age though. Hope you have a good week ❤️
Fascinating. The electric marine propulsion technology is improving and moving forward at a pretty good clip. Not quite where I want it to be for my use, but it’s improved substantially in the last few years, and we are now beginning to see a number of vendors offering much better and affordable packages.
So happy you have made such wonderful friends! Gosh that was an exhausting day. Maybe you need to take a little breather and rest for a day or two! Have a great weekend.
Thanks Diana. We really are blessed with the friends we have made. It was one of the most hectic weekends we have had for a long time, it took us all the next week to recover. Hope you have a lovely weekend ♥️
Sorry your van has packed up. Some nice engineering at the show, very nice . I did make lubrication for lock gates for the Denmark only as their canal gates are very big . But the smallest lube pump was for Rolls Royce Air o engines . But had a stroke at 47. years old . And got the sack as i was not able to do the work . I got two weeks holiday money , and not a thing from my works . You are are just a number , and that is life . Bad start good mid life cut short at 47. And now i am 70 this year. Seen a lot and met a lot of people in that time done all i needed to , so now i just watch life on the lap top. Like your narrow boat trips. That are very nice to see.
Thanks John. How fab. Sounds like you have done a lot. How bad that the company treated you like that. Totally agree, we are all just numbers. You have loads of life in you yet John. 70 isn’t old.
'Ohm from Home' - genius name 😊 Whatt another great vlog. I love that you are covering the relatively new Electika boat show. Crick is an excellent boat show but it's a bit of a market leader and we need more narrow boat shows in competition with each other for a more varied and competitive angle on both boats and accessories At 19:10 'there a lot of people that think electric is a passing fad... etc' is an excellent question followed by a great answer. Of course electric powered engines are not a fad and are here to stay, it's the next step in NB evolution. Imaging the poor horse owners that said coal powered steam engines will never catch on. Of course, maybe not a good example as trains spelt the death of canal goods haulage. However electric is definitely the future. That said I am sure, and glad that there will be enthusiasts that will keep keep examples of diesel power running for ages as a example of past technology. Thanks as ever for another great vlog the pair of you 5⭐'s You two are great ❤
Hey Gordon. It is a fab name. The guys on the boat are so lovely too. It was the first show of its kind and whilst not on the scale of Crick, was a good turn out. We had a great weekend talking to other electric boat owners. It definitely isn’t a fad and your analogy with the horse is a good one. I do love the sound of the diesel engine and am sure these will still be around in my lifetime. Glad you enjoyed. Hope you have a lovely weekend ♥️
A Vlog of ups and downs, mostly downs, love the way you always keep smiling through it all(or is that just for the vlog),Great to see Pink Hat Man,first time Ive heard him speak as he doesnt have sound on his live stream,
Aww thank you. We try and stay positive generally, not just in the vlogs. The good thing to come out of it was realising how lucky we are with all the friends around us. He is a lovely guy. Obviously very proud of his boat too. Have a great weekend ♥️
@@NarrowboatLifeUnlocked I’m very well, as best as can be…just smiling and getting on with life lol. Got another narrowboat holiday in August coming up so looking forward too that. It’s 4 days and we will start at springwood haven marina in Nuneaton and head along the Coventry canal and reach fradley junction and turn round and come back!!!
Hi Paul and Anthony I think I’m back to catching up with your videos my wife and I are a few days back from New York a very busy place Paul I saw in the video you still can’t see properly with your right eye I hope it will improve soon I love the video looking at other electric narrow boats getting the full tour but I still think the your boat is unique because of your input in the build of your boat. Best wishes to you all
Hey guys. Glad you are caught up. It was great seeing other boats and their set up. Some of them are getting amazing results. We do love our boat. The internal design is exactly what we wanted. Paul is starting to see results since his op. The gas bubble has now completely resolved. Hope you are both having a good week ❤️
I’m glad the van didn’t seem too serious, the gear linkages sometimes come off. If that’s the case Anthony , you should learn how to put them back on😊 I love the electric boat revolution and while I love looking round other boats , yours is definitely the nicest. Keep em coming 🤗☮️
Me too Crichie. The guy that came out to do a temp fix showed me what to do if it ever happens again, fingers crossed the clip has sorted it. There were some incredible boats and some getting amazing results too. Glad you like ours. Have a lovely week and take care ❤️
Never a dull moment with you guys! Whew, I'm exhausted just from watching that 😪😆 It's interesting to see the electric propulsion thing taking off as it becomes more and more popular and mainstream. The coming years will be fun to watch as electric tech advances. Cheers lads, have a great week!
It really was a just weekend. Let’s hope not so many of those in the future 😂. The boat show was amazing and so many great boats there getting amazing results. Hope you have a good week. Take care ❤️
You mentioned the boating community being brilliant and it certainly is. I find myself enjoying talking to no end of different people. Well, your problem and difficulty levels appear to be rising. It is nice to see that you have a wealth of choices available. A good sign that you are generating a great deal of good will and positivity wherever you go. Love from Jen and I.
Hey David. I am glad you are finding people as friendly as us. It really is an amazing community. We do have a great network of friends who are always willing to help, which is great. Hope you two are keeping well. Love to you and Jen ♥️
That started …..and almost ended….pretty badly. Thank goodness for friends, and good service providers. You two are very fortunate, and must be exhausted, as much Paul’s parents. Bless them for taking good care of Dexter. I am so glad you were able to pick him up and get back to the boat. Hopefully you will get a chance to relax. The tours of the boats were good. Liked the use of the under the galley cabinet area. Don’d care for bow cabins that fill what should be the access to the bow. I personally like your boat. Good interview about the use of electric on boats. Glad this trip ended ok. Rest up! 🤗😊❤️🐾 Kathy
It was one weekend we won’t forget 😢. The show was brilliant though and as always, we have the best friends to help. We were exhausted and felt terrible getting back so late to Paul’s Mum and Dad’s. The show was good, especially being able to chat to other owners. There were some very knowledgeable people at the show and a good opportunity to meet the guy who makes our motor. Hope you have a good weekend ♥️
So glad it all worked out for you with the van but not so much luck on the way home flat tyre darn it. Love all the electric narrowboat all so different. What a busy weekend you must have been tired but it’s always nice to get back home. Take care ❤
Thanks Judith. That whole weekend was full of disasters. The show was great though with some interesting chats. It was a tiring weekend but we did get to speak to some fellow electric boat owners. Have a good weekend ♥️
What a start to the episode! oh boy! Glad you guys got sorted without going too mad! 🙂 Lovely show, very informative. THEN more drama on the way home. Ok, who broke the mirror?!
What a crazy time, they say things happen in 3’s so hopefully that’s over with now. You’ve made lovely friends and they were right there when you needed them 👍🏼🥰. My life is boring this week, I tried to do some needlework and sewing but the cats are so interested in everything I do that I can’t get anything done. It has been a nice warm sunny week though , everything is green and the flowers are so pretty popping up everywhere. My mood has lifted, my energy restored and I’m enjoying the days. 👍🏼🥰🙋🏼♀️
It really was Dawn. Glad nothing else happened. We really have made incredible friends. We are so lucky. Sounds like the weather is improving for you. Love it when everything looks lush. Definitely makes you feel better. Cats are very inquisitive. I am not surprised you couldn’t get anything done. Have a lovely weekend ♥️
Thanks Jacqueline. There really were some fabulous designs out there. Some of the results from other boat owners was very encouraging. Hope you guys are loving life afloat. Take care ♥️
Thanks guys for this great and very interesting update but flippin' 'eck you've been through some motoring difficulties. I hope that Dexter is ok now and I hope that the van is sorted and didn't cost a fortune. As always I hope that you three are doing well and have a lovely week. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Hey Stevie. It was quite the weekend. Thankfully the van was able to have a clip repair for the gear box coupling so not too expensive. We can see Dexter aging now and it breaks my heart. Hope you are keeping well. Have a lovely week ❤️
Omg how much bad luck bless u and dear Dexter. Glad u got it sorted. Hope vans not too expensive. Find the electric boat solutions so interesting. So many variants too. Wishing you all a fabulous weekend. ❤
Hey Trevor. Hope you are good. We were glad to see the back of that weekend. The positive was, we realised what a lovely group of friends we have. It was good to get the chance to chat to other electric boat owners. Some get amazing results from their systems and sharing ideas is the best way for improvement. Hope you have a lovely weekend too ♥️
Me and my partner Andy loved the video and really enjoyed seeing the other boats, I really like pink hat man's boat, also love your mandalorian tshirt Anthony 🙂❤
Aww thank you guys. Was great to get to meet fellow electric boat owners and see their boats inside. Love the Pink Hat Man’s boat too. Think my favourite was Speedy Whippet II. Our friends bought me the T shirt for my birthday. Love it too. Have a great weekend ♥️
They were stunning Robert. Loved Speedy Whippet II. She was beautiful. We are good thank you. We can see Dexter slowing loads now. Breaks my heart. Have a lovely weekend ♥️
Love the guy who has provided your electric motor, very passionate about his product, must fill you with a lot of confidence now on Morning Star 🙏🏻 great vlog as always guys 🤗🤗🤗
@@NarrowboatLifeUnlocked All good here thank you, that’s good news 👍🏼 I hope you are enjoying this spell of lovely weather, I hope we catch up again soon 🙏🏻🤗
Do you guys ever take it easy? I’m exhausted and that is just from watching, lol! Glad everything turned out okay in the end. Extra hugzzz for Dexter! ❤🐕❤️
Happy Friday guys and Dexter. What a crazy start for you all on this adventure! Hopefully you're covered for the rest of this year with mishaps. What a cool show! I'll bet you guys got lots of great information and learned a lot more about all the new things coming for the electric boat industry. Some really great looking new designs out there. Hope you guys have had a great week and are able to have a lovely weekend. Sending love and hugs to all. Take care! John, Dean, 🐾 🐾
Sorry for the late reply. We have been moving over the weekend. It was quite the weekend but yeah, fingers crossed, that’s our streak of bad luck over with. It was a fab show. Great to speak to other owners. There were some absolutely beautiful boats. Hope you guys have a lovely week too ♥️ ❤️ 🐾
Wow what an exciting show and such lovely boats. I really think electric propulsion is going to take off in the coming years. So sorry to hear about your vehicle troubles. . .it never rains it pours. Have a lovely weekend and thanks for taking us along.
What an interesting vlog!! I do think a hybrid electric is the way to go. I was sorry to hear of you brake down with the tire. At least you two were safe. Poor Dexter having to wait for you, I'll bet he slept right through it.
Hey Mark. I do think it will be the future of narrowboating. Some amazing boats at the show that achieve some fab results with their setup. Gutted re the tyre. Dexter was fast asleep when we got back 😂. We hate leaving him. Bless him. Have a good week ❤️
Hi. Looks like it was a great show. Am sure you enjoyed. Good golly gumdrops....all that action. No place like home 🤗🤗. Paul I hope you did not overtire you eyes.
It really was. Great to be able to compare results with other electric boat owners. Glad that all the bad luck seems to be behind us. Always nice to get back home. Hope you have a lovely week ❤️
Phew, that was eventful! I have been watching all your videos from the start. Brought back memories of lockdown when I was a key worker and my son couldn't sit his GCSEs. It didn't stop him getting to Uni though. Weirdly a colleague tested positive this week! So pleased Dexter got the all clear this week, must have been a huge relief. xx
It really was Sue. Covid was a telling time. It is hard to imagine we all got through it. Glad it didn’t hold your son back. We have had friends recently test positive too. Think we are starting to just live with it now. We were pleased about Dexter’s scan, we just can’t get to the bottom of his choking bless him. Have a great weekend ♥️
Hi Anthony and Paul. The Electrica show looked like it was a good place to visit for anyone interested in having an electric boat. Shame you had so much vehicle trouble. Your positivity in filming it all is to be admired 😄Have a great week 🥰 Take care. Nick
I found this so interesting in terms of the technical aspects as I am in the planning process before commissioning a build. I am still trying to square the circle with water source heat pump for heating & air conditioning combined with MHRVAC systems. + nice tyre twink
Glad it was of use. It was great to get to chat to other owners and listen to their experience and results. It is all in the planning. Hope you can implement a lot of the stuff you talk about. Couldn’t possibly comment on the tyre guy 😂. Have a great weekend ♥️
I had a hire car delivered with a flat tyre once. It even mentioned it on the delivery form. Luckily it was early so I was able to call and get a replacement.
There was definitely something wrong with that tyre when I first picked it up but just assumed the sensor was too sensitive (had the same on my Kia Sportage). Wish I had gone straight back with it in hind sight. Have a great week ❤️
Hi guys Interesting electric boat show. Anthony not having much luck with the van. And then puncture in car, why they don’t put a spare in these days is stupid! Anyway all ended well. Hope all is well. Have a good weekend xx
Hey Bill. We definitely have had our fair share of bad luck. Hope that is it. I hate that most modern cars don’t have spare wheels. Just ridiculous. The weekend was good though. Hope you guys are feeling better. Have a lovely weekend ♥️
Happy weekend to you! 🥰 You certainly did have a time of it in parts of this vlog. As usual amazing narrowboat people were there to help in any way possible. 😊 It's a very interesting video (love the boat tours) but the best part was the peek into Pink Hat Man's boat. Mostly I just see the bow of Elektra in the live cam so it was great to see inside! Definitely awesome. I love the exterior color but the interior is awesome too. I love the high gloss cabinetry. The Mothership boat was impressive as well. ❤ Glad that the news for sweet Dexter was good. ❤ Take care!
Hey Dorothy. Hope you are having a good weekend. It was quite the weekend for us with loads of stuff going against us. Lucky we have such amazing friends. Pink Hat Man’s boat is incredible. He is very proud of it too. There were some beautiful boats at the show. Sending hugs from all three of us ♥️
@@NarrowboatLifeUnlocked Sometimes things just fall apart. Fortunately they usually get sorted pretty fast most times, but the stress is real in the meantime... Having people to help is great. ❤
Hecky flip a vlog of bad and good. The van, the car flat tyre, the time ticking away, etc etc But the good friends and offers and the Electrika show. The show was very interesting. Was Chris and his pink boat at Crick 2 years ago? If so I helped him through locks at Braunston. Thats all in the past, hopefully the next vlogs will be better, if not then thats also in the past with your time lapse on the vlogs lol Happy, calm, no problem week to you three xxx
Hey Susan. It was quite the weekend. We have fabulous friends though. So humbling. I think he was at Crick. His boat is incredible. Surely we have had all the bad luck in one go. Hope you have a lovely weekend ♥️
Sorry to note your transportation woes with both your van and the hire car. Both were issues you could have done without. I also hope your (Paul) eye recovery is on track so that you'll be able to drive again soon. This is one of those videos we watched together but that I will be going over a few times more to glean extra information on design and electric propulsion. I'm really interested in the running issues and costs involved. The chap you were talking to from Lightning Craft seems like the person to talk to on such matters. I even paused the video to search for his website since he did not give the URL. (When you search from a different global region it is not easy to find sometimes, but I found it this time among 1/2 a dozen companies of the same name dotted around SE Asia.) We love the idea of (almost) silent cruising and if it means being greener, all the better.
It was quite the weekend for transportation woes. 😂 Paul said the gas bubble in his eye has finally gone, this is great news. Glad you found the vlog useful. Josh is a really nice guy and his product is great. We have found the motor to be reliable and allows for our bigger prop. The key to a successful electric boat has to be good solar, good batteries and reliable motor. Good luck in your design. Have a great weekend ♥️
Sorry for your trials and tribulations guys. You really have had your stresses add up recently and I vote for everything to calm down and a speedy return to normality immediately. I hope your detached retina is resolved real soon Paul because I know, from experience, eyesight issues are very limiting and also very concerning.
Thank you. We hope our luck changes too. It was one thing after another. The show was good though. The gas bubble in Paul’s eye disappeared yesterday so fingers crossed that he is fully recovered. It is concerning, we often take our sight for granted. Hope you have a lovely weekend ♥️
Lovely vlog guys. Sorry you had so many mishaps though. It must’ve been interesting to see so many well designed and built electric boats. There were many features of note on the boats too. No Crick vlog this year? I notice Oakums didn’t feature in the winning line up this year.
Thanks Will. Despite all the mishaps, the show was great and it was especially interesting to chat to different boat owners and hear their experiences with electric boats. We are a few weeks behind so there should be a Crick vlog soon. No, I guess the design hasn’t really changed from last year and there were some strong contenders this year too. Have a lovely weekend ♥️
Sounds like a really trying weekend, you must both have been shattered. How's the eye doing, are you back to normal yet Paul? Hope you have a quieter weekend.
Hey Jackie. It really was quite the weekend. We were exhausted for days after. I don’t think Paul has ever been described as normal 😂. The gas bubble dissolved completely yesterday, so fingers crossed that is it now. Have a great weekend and take care ♥️
I drive an electric car and have had to change the way I think not to get range anxiety. It's been 20 months now. Never a problem if you plan a little ahead. However your guest Josh mentioned living on a narrow boat will not be the same for everyone. It will not be the same for the same boat. The sun might not shine. Unless you can hook into the grid every night like I can, you will still need to rely on diesel for back up, just like our national grid still relies on coal fired power stations for back up in winter which it is now. Technology is improving but if you want to go 100% electric today, at least you can still tow a boat with a horse if you have one.
Hey Roger. I was an early adopter of an electric car but suffered massively with range anxiety (think mine did 80miles!). We are quite heavy power consumers I guess and Josh is right, each person lives differently. We will still need a generator but it is a supplement to the solar and today, we cruised for free (it is the small wins). Have a great weekend ♥️
Hello Paul Anthony and Dexter-Dog, How nice it was to see Dexter ambling along the owpath at the start of the Vlog. Sorry, you had so much trouble with your transportation this week. Good to see you with Wine and Crisps. You can't go wrong with that combination. It was nicve that your friends were able to help out. The Electric Boat show was very interesting. Josh Masters had a lot of interesting things to say. One of the big car manufacturers are reverting back to making petrol cars instead of electric, Not enough electricity is being made apparently, plus there is not enough charging points around the UK, and even if there was, there would not be enough electricity to charge all the cars. It was interesting seeing a Super Charger made for the canals, but will the National Grid allow thousands of charging points to be installed, and how many years would that take and cost to do. Do you think there has to be another energy method, LPG for example going forward, Very interesting times. I loved the Speedy Whippet II electric boat. That was really well layed out and had a nice feel about it. I'm glad you were eventually able get home to collect Dexter. I bet you were both shattered getting home at 0100. Hope had a good sleep. Excellent vlog as always, Thank you very much. All the best, Spoolbox.
Hey Spoolbox. It was quite a trying weekend. Glad the van got sorted and we are so lucky with all the offers of help. The show was interesting. Josh was very articulate in his own explanation of his product. I think the super charge point was donated to the marina by a private company. I do think that if more marinas adopted this it would be fabulous. I am not sure how things will progress. I do think battery technology will improve and solar will become more efficient. Loved the Speedy Whippet II. She was beautiful. We were exhausted after the weekend and Dexter was pleased to see us bless him. Have a lovely weekend ♥️
Thoroughly enjoyed this video, thankfully you overcame your car woes that was a nightmare. I was interested by what the chap with the pink hat had to say about his diesel consumption 70 gallons per month seems horrendous that’s hundreds of pounds,my narrow boat had a 70 gallon diesel tank and would run my Dorman engine for months, instant hot water via a gas boiler and loads of heat from a multi fuel stove. So I don’t see how his boat is in any way more environmentally beneficial than my old tug was am I missing something?
Thanks Neill. I hope that’s the last of our vehicle trouble for this year 😂. Talking to different owners about the diesel consumption was interesting. We spoke to one person who said they hadn’t ran their generator for months. I do regret going all electric and maybe we should have had a gas hob. Some boats do get great results and halve 1/4 their consumption compared to their diesel engine counterparts. Things have to start somewhere I guess. People probably said the same when they moved from horse pulled to diesel. Have a great week ❤️
Loved the vlog as usual but did you notice nb true blue…an electric and they claim they hardly ever use their generator ….how is your usage going….get a Cinderella electric incinerator toilet too…Norwegian
Hey Morten. They have had some amazing results. We are on it. We looked at the Cinderella. They are just so expensive, need servicing and need a special bag every time you go. If money and power was no object, absolutely ❤️
Oops now a flat on your car , so sorry for you as the new car do not have a spare wheel . Well there you all compact so you do not get you hands dirty lol. But mr AA has to get it sorted .
Hey Douglas. We an Engiro Motor, supplied by Lightning Craft, called the “Direct Drive 10”. It’s a 10kW Motor, rated at a continuous 12kW @ 1320RPM, with 17kW @ 1000RPM peak! The Continuous torque is 81Nm; with Peak torque 188Nm. The consumption very much depends on the RPM we travel at. Hope that helps. ❤️
@@NarrowboatLifeUnlocked Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Enjoying watching your videos even the sad bits. Sorry for the loss of your best friend. Time will heal your wounded hearts as it has mine. RIP Sally, Nudgie, Psycho.
sorry to hear your week was sh*t. Bad luck is supposed to come in threes so I think it is 'smooth sailing' ahead. I saw some features on the other boats that were interesting but I don't think any of them are as nice as yours. I don't know why one would need an oven door to slide under the stove? I usually close it right after I put something in or pull something out. Some boats seemed like they were stuffing an entire home into a small boat. Don't get me started on the Barbie boat... The owners name really should be 'Ken'. Can you imagine trying to change the sheets on beds in the primary bedroom? I think your design is the perfect mix of openness and carved out individual spaces. Oakum's (sp?) created an open design with designated zones, which is really important when you are living there full time. You are never claustrophobic in your home but when you need a change of scenery you have other rooms to go to. here might be some tweaks to your design but every other layout was inferior to what you have. Hope your late spring gets better. No more injuries, flat tires, accidents, dead batteries, and worst of all -- spilled wine! Be safe out there. Thank you for the update and time given to share your life with all of us.
Thanks Greg. I do hope that is the last of the bad luck 🤞. There were some amazing boats in the show and some clever designs. We love our interior but there is always room for improvement. It never feels claustrophobic on our boat. Taking to the owners was useful to see what consumption they had compared to ours, some are getting very impressive result. This weekend went without drama 😊: hope you have a lovely weekend ♥️
Should you not have called the car hire company? I've had a flat tyre with a rental car before and they sent a guy with a replacement car to me and he waited for the recovery truck while I continued my journey in the replacement car.
Hey Colin, they gave me a number to ring and it was the recovery people, because the car was less than 2 years old, it was covered by Vauxhall but the tyres weren’t part of their insurance unfortunately. Hope you have a great weekend ♥️
The ultimate system would be a hydrogen fuel cell to supply the electric motor with power when the batteries are running low and charge the batteries when the sun is not up to the job..no point having a petrol or diesel generator to do the job if the aim is to stop burning fossil fuel..the best way to run the central heating and hot water is gas...no diesel particulates and is a lot quiet than a diesel heater.. it's been used in caravans for decades now and works perfectly... electric is the best thing for the environment , people's health (diesel particulates are a carcinogen) and the canals in the future , no doubt in my mind!!!.❤️🇬🇧
There are hydrogen fuel cell technologies out there. They are still quite new. I personally feel safer not having gas on board to be honest. Electric narrowboating is the future and there may be future technologies that may be able to replace the diesel generators, but at present, the best we can do is reduce their use. Have a great week ❤️
Nah electric is NOT the way forward. Diesel is the best. If electric is the cheapest and cost effective then fair enough. But if going electric for stupid fictitious net zero rubbish then stupid. There might be a case for hybrid but I doubt that Diesel can be beaten for cost effectiveness.
What an informative video. Electric is definitely the way but it will take time. Lovely to see how pple are embracing solar as well, true pioneers. Living in Arizona, solar is powering my house. Still haven't decided on an electric car yet. Thank you Paul for your wonderful videos. Hope your eye gets better soon. Greetings to Andrew and Dexter the wonder dog. 😻
Glad you enjoyed. It definitely is the future of boating. Solar power is amazing and in countries with high sun yield, there should be no need for fossil fuel. I used to have an electric car but had range anxiety. The gas bubble finally dissolved yesterday. Hope you have a lovely weekend ♥️

Have a fab week too ♥️
What a weekend. Just too exciting for comfort. Hope your eye continues to recover Paul. It’s always so nice to get home.
I'm enjoying every single episode!
The focus seems to be on clever storage and being able to bring all the electric appliances you might ĥave in a house.
I like the electric bed.
Hey Terence. There were some incredible features on the boats. Love looking around other people’s boats.
The electric boat set up does mean a lot of normal household appliances are possible. Hope you have a lovely weekend ♥️
What a trying weekend. All will be okay. Thank goodness for good narrowboat friends. Cheers!
Thanks Heidi. It was quite the weekend. We have amazing friends and are so lucky: hope you have a lovely weekend ❤️
Pink Hat Man and the fella from Lightning Craft added so much to this video. Pink Hat Man has a great layout for Electra.
Loved his boat.
Hey James. Pink Hat Man is so enthusiastic. His boat is lovely inside. Josh gave a great interview on his product. Such a nice guy too. Have a lovely weekend ♥️
It was beautiful ♥️
Sorry for the flat and getting home so late. You guys always seem to just get with it and carry on, keeping a positive attitude. I keep sweet, little Dexter in my thoughts.
Thanks Jan. We try to be positive. Dexter is the sweetest boy. It breaks my heart to see him age. Hope you have a lovely weekend ♥️
So glad that everything worked out in the end!!!! Whew!! Happy travelling over the weekend!!
Thank you Laya. I don’t think I could have coped with any more bad luck. Have a great weekend ♥️
Fascinating. The electric marine propulsion technology is improving and moving forward at a pretty good clip.
Not quite where I want it to be for my use, but it’s improved substantially in the last few years, and we are now beginning to see a number of vendors offering much better and affordable packages.
Couldn’t agree more. The pod propulsion system looks interesting too. I do think it is the future. Have a great weekend ❤️
💜💙💚 Thank you for the boat tours and all the electric information. Wonderfully done. Hope you are all having a wonderful week.🤗
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed. We are off to Paris on Wednesday for my rescheduled birthday present. Can’t wait. Have a lovely week too ❤️
Sorry your van has packed up.
Some cracking boats, but I still think yours is the best. 👍❤️👍
Thank you Ange. There are some fabulous boats. Loved the Speedy Whippet II. Hope you have a good week ❤️
'Ohm from Home' - genius name 😊
Whatt another great vlog.
I love that you are covering the relatively new Electika boat show. Crick is an excellent boat show but it's a bit of a market leader and we need more narrow boat shows in competition with each other for a more varied and competitive angle on both boats and accessories
At 19:10 'there a lot of people that think electric is a passing fad... etc' is an excellent question followed by a great answer.
@@NarrowboatLifeUnlocked ❤❤
A Vlog of ups and downs, mostly downs, love the way you always keep smiling through it all(or is that just for the vlog),Great to see Pink Hat Man,first time Ive heard him speak as he doesnt have sound on his live stream,
Aww thank you. We try and stay positive generally, not just in the vlogs. The good thing to come out of it was realising how lucky we are with all the friends around us. He is a lovely guy. Obviously very proud of his boat too. Have a great weekend ♥️
Wow you definitely had a lot going on!!! Sending all 3 of you love and hugs 💚💚🐾
Thanks Paul. It was quite the weekend. Hope you are keeping well my friend ❤️
Aww brilliant. You looked like you had a fab time recently. Keep smiling and take care ❤️
What a day! You two have really been beat up. Ah, thé joys of modern cars that don’t come with a spare tire. 🛞
Hi Jay. I have always said that those cans of foam are useless. The show was good, on a positive note 😊. Have a good weekend ♥️
Hi, shared in Rochdale Canal Group.
Thank you ❤️
Hi Paul and Anthony I think I’m back to catching up with your videos my wife and I are a few days back from New York a very busy place
Paul I saw in the video you still can’t see properly with your right eye I hope it will improve soon
I love the video looking at other electric narrow boats getting the full tour but I still think the your boat is unique because of your input in the build of your boat.
Your patience was certainly tested that weekend!
It really was Anna. Onward and upward though. 😊. Have a great weekend ♥️
Whew, I'm exhausted just from watching that 😪😆
It's interesting to see the electric propulsion thing taking off as it becomes more and more popular and mainstream.
What a crazy trip. One thing after the other. Well done getting through it and still creating a lovely video. Thank you .
It really was. Felt like everything was against us. The boat show was Kewl though. Glad you enjoyed the vlog. Have a lovely weekend ♥️
That is exactly what it felt like 😂. Glad the show was worth it. Gutted about all the drama. Hope you have a great weekend ♥️
What a weekend. Glad all are home safe.
It really was Alyce. Glad it all turned out ok in the end. Have a lovely weekend ♥️
What a kerfuffle, but you overcame all obstacles and managed to enjoy yourself despite the problems. Another great vlog, thank you. Cheers.
It really was Jane. Don’t want another weekend like that 😂. We had a fab time at Electrika boat show. Was a great weekend. Have a lovely week. ❤️
Love all the different lay out of the boats .I would never know which to chose .xx
They were incredible Pamela. Love a nosey at other people’s boats. Have a great week ❤️
That was a weekend and a half! Very interesting, thank you.
Not half John. Don’t want a repeat of that 😂 The boat show was great though. Hope you have a good weekend ♥️
Wow some stunning boats and really good to hear other peoples take on their electric boats. Very interesting ❤❤❤
Hope you have a lovely weekend too ♥️
My word what a mission😄. Glad it was all sorted
Hey Chris. It was quite the weekend 😂. Hope you are having a good week ❤️
Woow ...What beautiful boats 👀👀👀👀😍😍 Love speedy whippet 2 it's hugeeee 😍😍 Hope you both are keeping well and hope Dexter's ok x
Hey Ian. He is a really nice guy and yeah, we do feel very confident in the motor, especially with the bigger prop. Hope you are keeping well. ♥️
It doesn’t feel like it Eric 😂. We did enjoy the show, despite the bad luck. Hugs given to Dexter. Have a lovely weekend ♥️
They really were beautiful Mark. I do think it will be the future. It did feel like we were jinxed that weekend. Hope you have a good weekend too ♥️
What an interesting vlog!!
❤
@@NarrowboatLifeUnlocked pets can be a worry, just like kids!. He is so well loved and looked after ❤
Hi Anthony and Paul. The Electrica show looked like it was a good place to visit for anyone interested in having an electric boat. Shame you had so much vehicle trouble. Your positivity in filming it all is to be admired 😄Have a great week 🥰 Take care. Nick
Hey Nick. It was well worth a visit. Good for us to compare too. Fingers crossed all our bad luck is over. Hope you have a lovely week ❤️
Hi guys
Interesting electric boat show.
We are very lucky to have so many amazing people around us. ❤️
Very technical for a layboat man but still enjoyable Ray.
Thanks Ray. Glad you enjoyed. Nothing better than nosing in other people’s boats. Have a grata weekend ♥️
Thank you , sometimes shit happens 😊
Absolutely Jules and it dod in abundance 😂. Have a good week ❤️
Hello Paul Anthony and Dexter-Dog,
How nice it was to see Dexter ambling along the owpath at the start of the Vlog.
It would be nice to keep it in perspective if you told how much these boat cost compared with conventional diesel boats
I think the costs will come down William as more people adopt electric boats. Have a good weekend 😊
good vid on channel of you keep it cranked on the cut thanks lee
Cheers Lee. Have a great week ❤️
Should have taken your boat,it would have won best in show easily
Aww thanks Shane. We love our boat interior.
Works well for us. Have a lovely weekend ♥️
@@NarrowboatLifeUnlocked we use Cinderella’s in our cabins up here…swear by them….I guess we are rich…lol
Oops now a flat on your car , so sorry for you as the new car do not have a spare wheel . Well there you all compact so you do not get you hands dirty lol. But mr AA has to get it sorted .
I know. It is ridiculous John not to have a spare. That foam thing is useless if it is ripped. Very expensive trip 😂
Could you please explain the voltage of the electric motor and how many Kilowatts it consumes.

I'm going to assume the motor voltage is 48vdc
Yeah. 👍

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.
Enjoying watching your videos even the sad bits.
Sorry for the loss of your best friend.
Time will heal your wounded hearts as it has mine. RIP Sally, Nudgie, Psycho.
Thank you ❤️
😂😂😂 found a hat for Paul ..wth
😂. I think he would suit it Morten 😊 Have a lovely weekend ♥️
You definitely have more luck on a boat than four wheels lol
lol, couldn’t agree more. Have a good week. ❤️
sorry to hear your week was sh*t.
I'm sorry but can't you change a wheel? That's why you have a spare.
Yes we can change a wheel, the car didn’t have a spare. We aren’t that useless 🤣
@@NarrowboatLifeUnlocked I'm sorry but I would have sued the hire company for causing that level of inconvenience.
Will you 2 should be free off all bad juju now for at least a year.
I really hope so Mike. Keeping everything crossed. Have a lovely weekend ♥️
When things go wrong they tend to happen in a cluster, so hopefully this is all your bad luck for a while now
Fingers crossed Sue. Hope you have a lovely weekend ♥️
Plenty of boats at the electric boat show would dispute this. They have at least quartered their diesel consumption compared to a diesel boat.
