- This is How you install door speakers in your smart car as shown on a 2008 Smart Fortwo.

There’s are the ones I got, they were expensive, but they sound great for 2 speakers mounted in the lower door, I can make it louder then the wind noise going 80mph on the hwy!

I took mine to a car audio "specialist", and yet you did a much better job then them and they overcharged me massively and insisted I buy overpriced speakers, rather than some good quality ones like the Alpine ones you have installed. I wish I had just done it myself! Nevermind, I have went to a better company to install an Alpine subwoofer at a much fairer price. Thanks for the vid.

Thank you for your video! A lot of such videos don't show the cables, and for me, who never did anything like this, it's a very important step! I am 95% ready to start, I just need to get these spade things 2:38 Do you happen to remember which size are they? My local bauhaus sells it in small packs and I don't wanna order a 300pc from Amazon when I really only need 2, just need to know the right size. I got the JBL GX602 but what you have looks very similar in regards to the cables. Thank you in advance!
It looks like I used a red size that is Red Female Insulated Spade Wire Connector Electrical Crimp Terminal 18-22 AWG

Very useful video. Thanks. I believe the "installation depth" of the Alpine R-S65.2 speakers are about 60mm (2.36 inches). Were there any issues with the window lowering all the way down?

@@RealityUniverse Hmmm...Interesting. The Crutchfield website says Alpine R-S65.2 "Would Not" fit in the Smart Car door. Perhaps the magnet is too big or something else?... Did you have to do any other mod other than cutting off the taps?
@@BaikFamily nope, it fit perfectly.
Crutchfield probably said the speaker wouldn't fit because the speaker is usually mounted on the inside of the Smart door. He surface mounted which makes a big difference. @@BaikFamily
2 questions. Did these come with replacements tweeters that go on the dash, and did you have to buy a separate amp?
I didn’t add an amp and I didn’t add any tweeters to the dash. All I did was change the door speakers and it sounded much better!
Marvelous really cba to take the door panel off, its easy to do but just takes so long so many screws just to get to the mirror off and all thr cables. I'm gonna get a sony head unit and matching speakers ive downgraded from a jaguar with bowers and wilkins surround sound, dont think i can cope with smart car stereo 😅
