I have a 1988 Fiero GT with a 3800 supercharged swap. It's got a few mods done to it. Ported intake, ported blower 1 size smaller pulley, rockers and headers with equal length headpipes on it. Its a pretty fun and quick ride.
That must FLY!
It was really cool to see the car on video finally! It was really nice meeting you and I hope your able to do more with the car than I was able to and give it what it deserves!
Nice to meet you too! Definitely nice solid car, I went in this with the assumption at the motor was shot... We'll do something with it and get it back on the road. If you come across any more of these that you want to pass on give me a shout I might be interested
Wow the car looks great ! I want to watch a series about it😎
"Ronald Finger" TH-camr redid a basket case Fiero series, and has it back on the road. Yours is a gem in comparison. He might be a source for places to get things you're needing.
Word up ..been a long time. Going to start watching &!see what you have bee up too. Started watching a long time ago with 1st mini truck & mountain bike days.
Hi! Yes, been a lot going on since MINITRUCK. Where ya been?
That's a cute little car. I love it :D
Impala SS and the Grand Prix GXP had the 5.3 FWD LS. there have been a few of these swaps done in the Fiero.
I saw that I guess it just takes a little bit of hammering and fabrication, and of course finding that drive train
I think the 4.9 caddy engine was the hot fiero swap. Has the same bellhousing bolt pattern if I remember correctly.
It's definitely one of the favorite swaps
Im Roland's barber shop and cant wait to put that keychain on my kpx i just ordered @MotoCheez thanks
AWESOME! Gonna gain a few HP 😁
🤞@@MotoCheez
The iron duke came in s10s I’d check one of those.
That's right! I'm going to drop the oil pan and see how bad it looks with her this engine can be repaired or if I have totally swap it for either the same engine or something better
Totally a Mini-Kit.... From knight rider bro those cars are fun
A few people mention that, that's actually a pretty awesome idea! Mini KITT
Digging the kpx
Thanks! Me too!
First comment too, free keytag it you want one
@@MotoCheez absolutely 💯
@jered2177 send name and address to Motocheezmail@gmail.com 😁👍
I don't even recall seeing any Fieros on the road lately. At all.
They're getting rare, prices getting stupid now too. Figure I better grab one
That car has a ton of potential
I think so too. Not sure if the mileage is accurate but it sure is clean inside and out and underneath there's no rust at all, but I did see one of the coolant lines as a whole where I don't know if it blew out or I'm hoping it's not from freezing but you would think you'd see other signs. We'll see has a dig into it
I'm feeling the Pontiac fiero. Any thought on a project for it? Maybe one of those Ferrari body kits. Haven't seen anyone do a k swap turbo mod yet. Love the vids motocheez, keep em comin👍👍👍
Not sure on the engine yet. Want to see why the #4 piston doesn't move and the other 3 do. Like if the crank is shot where maybe I can just slap another piston and connecting rod in lol
k swap turbo great idea, had a few others say k Swap it
Looks like K.I.T.T.'s little brother. It would go well with the Mini A-Team van. Also there has got to be a engine swap kit for that car.
Your like the 4th for mini KITT. Awesome idea. There are a few engine swap options. Some easy some pretty difficult. Want to see how bad original engine is before I decide
u mite b able to replace the 4 rod n b done. i had a 84 iron duke f.i. 250k. bad piston skirt slap till it warmed up. fieros had a bunch of recalls 1 for gas line fire. u mite wanna c if u can get that carport at Al's
I'm gonna try replacing the 1 piston and rod if there's no other damage.
You definitely should consider the KITT treatment. Michael Knight.
Definitely a good idea! Mini KITT
Go with a rebuild and add turbo.....lol Cheezy is at it again.
Thought about that too, I want to drop the oil pan and see if the crank is good and why that one connecting rod isn't moving that piston maybe I could do it with them engine in the car has low miles...
Was one of those packages 2 Keychains and a sticker?? If so one of those was mine lol 😆 🎉❤
Yes!!!
You so chezzy 😊
Yes! 🧀🧀
Awesome I have an 86 Fiero SE-v6 4 speed! I have owned many! Currently doing a 4.9 caddy v8 swap
That dude w the red one said he knows where there is a guy is doing that engine and can get cheap, need to be be completed.
Feel free to ask me any questions, I’m kind of a Fiero nerd myself 😎
Awesome
Cheezy , did all the Fiero GTs have sixes?
Yes! Some SE models had 6's too
I was friends with a guy who had a Fiero with a supercharged 3.8 it was pretty cool. Big Al the guy who rode the scooter with you or is there another?
Sweet. Ya that's a good motor swap choice, no that's big Vee!
Mini Knight Rider!!!
😁👍 that's great, so many have mentioned that too
Soak piston 4 with berrymans b12 over night 2 couple times?
It turns over with starter, just #4 doesn't move, no holes in block, no clanking... it's weird.
I love the dji osmo action 4 for a camera, leagues better than a gopro, but I've never touched any of the insta camera so I have no comments on it there. I have never seen an action camera have nearly as good as a microphone as the action 4.
When I was looking and researching I thought I saw people reviewing that it had an inferior microphone so I stayed away. I do have the ends to 360 with the better lens and I could hook that up but it's just a pain. I believe it may have been my SD card that screwed up so I put a new SD card in a formatted it
@@MotoCheez I have a couple videos on my channel of a friend of mine shooting guns using the internal osmo microphone, there's tons of comments specially praising the audio, it basically doesn't peak at all. I just know I didn't want to give my money to gopro since they haven't done anything with their cameras in a few years now and they still have issues that haven't been dealt with for years.
@Hunter1st I hear you about the GoPro. I feel exactly the same way
The petals, steering wheel, and wear on the seat tells the age of a car. The controls could be a hint if the car has 34,000 miles or 134,000 miles. Don't forget that they have cooling issues and the reason most Fieros ended up as a cheap buy. It will still make a great toy to tinker with.
Yeah I always check those points, plus this has 100,000 mile mark so it definitely didn't roll over. And the inspection sticker still in the window with like 30 something thousand miles. Yeah I'm doing some research now and I did before so I know what to keep an eye on Thanks
I put 2 stroke oil in the cylinders of an engine that was locked from sitting. A week later I got it to turn over by hand.
@tullyg493 I've heard of kerosene and transmission fluid, never 2 stroke oil, cool
@MotoCheez might be cheaper than diesel and atf, some use marvel mystery oil, or pb blaster/wd-40. The engine needs to be accessible to get the piston head out since it's not connected regardless. Piece of wood and a mallet after it sets in the lubricant for a bit.
@bobtailedtrucker2521 the piston 8s at bottom of cylinder, should come out easy, I showed in last video
4cyl will have the BOP bolt pattern, meaning it will bolt up to a 3800 v6 or Buick Ols Pontiac v8... Whee! v6 unit could be up swapped to a 3.4, but thats about as far as it could go without an adapter.
I worked at GM foundry when they were making the Iron Duke. They were very fussy about being sure the blocks and heads wewe free of core sand. Much fussier than the v8 castings. Didnt want a repeat of the Vega fiasco.
Great info. Thank you
Have you considered buying or testing any of the CF Moto motorcycles? Maybe find a way to test ride them. Give your honest review.
I definitely want to, there's a dealer in FL, have to see if they'll let me review one
You remember big Al’s blowing up?
How about a k swop drive train, It will definitely be the first.
Yes, I remember that. Propane forklift leak!
Others mentioned K swap, good idea if I had a donor car for the electronics.
I saw one in TH-cam already lol
A buddy of mine had one and I was trying to get it off him for a few years and end up sitting so long the engine froze up just because the slave cylinder had failed.😢
Looks like it's going to be a kick a_ s project car
Damn. Get it and dump some marvel mystery oil in the cylinders
I had an 86 gt. It was a dog and rear heavy.
They're not fast, for sure
Richard holdner is doing a series on the cheap Chinese superchargers . You should do a colab with him and Dyno the supercharged mini.
Is he the guy that put one on a Volkswagen engine?
@@MotoCheez he worked at westech and was a writer for car magazines now has a TH-cam channel where he dynos engines and tests cams and other stuff
@jnljnl8485 he's around my area?
@@MotoCheez think he does the testing on the west tech dynos in California.
@jnljnl8485 that's a long drive!
Cheezy content..... Either way.. I will watch what happens.. lol
👍👍👍🧀
Ecotec swap in the Fiero?
Possibly, even a K series Honda swap, parts adding up in the thousands!
So ive owned a handful of fiero, first of all, dont even bother with an auto unless you wanna swap the engine and trans with something else, the stock 3 speed sucks. Second if you wanna do an engine swap and keep the stickshift, be aware the 4 cyl trans aren't the best. My understanding is the v6 4 speed is the toughest. 3rd, my absolute favorite fiero i have owned was a 4 cyl 5 speed. It was quick enough for its suspension and got atleast 40mpg highway. My least favorite was a v6 auto. Took all the fun out of it, even with extensive mods to the engine, that trans killed it. A caddy 4.9, or the 3800/sc would be the best swap. However either will grenade that trans sooner or later.
Thanks, going to try and revive the 4cyl, if it's shot I'll have to make a decision...
How is Mini-Truck?
Great! Haven't been using mini much, just some yardwork and dump runs. And of course as a work bench!
A grand national v6 turbo charger engine swap would be nice or a s10 v6 vortex engine then it would be similar to your Corvette keep it simple. I'd say it's got over 100k miles it's not to often some one blows a engine at 37k in less there beating the dog shxt out of it even then it's not to common. Usually the transmission goes be for the engine. 💯🛠️🍻👍✌️
Yeah they would be good transplants the Grand national especially. I'm wondering if that's actual mileage and the car just sat for that long and whoever picked it up found a motor that was set seized and got it running and blew it up. Carfax VIN report comes back when estimated 52,000 checking all records
Go pick you up one of them C8 fieros! 😂
Would love to
Are these the cars that had engine fires?
Yes! 84 mainly. They supposedly fixed the issue. But oil leaks caused fires too
Majority of these were caused by people not maintaining the car. They'd Drive the piss out of it then run it low on oil. Then it would throw a rod and dump oil onto the Catalytic converter. The factory upped the amount of oil and added a new dipstick. They even went as far as to make an "Idiot sticker" that the customer was to affix to the console stating the need to check the oil and maintain it. Supposedly a non issue after the 1984 model year but the damage was done. I'm sure there have been a Bazillion more KIA/Hyundai/ Tesla fires than there ever were with 1984 fieros and people keep buying them left and right. Even with the massive recalls class actions and Their own employees flying all the way from Korea to narc them out. (Kim Gwang-ho) Got a 24 million dollars for ratting Hyundai/Kia out! There are 140 total Fiero complaints. How many Hyundai and kia fires have we heard of? Seems like a new one daily! I cannot even begin to count the times at a car show with my 88 fiero that someones BrothersUnclesSistersCousin's Mom's next door neighbor that had one and it caught fire. So many times I just say "yeah mine catches fire all the time! I just keep rebuilding it" Whenever someone brings it up. Its all Good. They are still tons of fun.. Here's the "Idiot sticker" > www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2F9plpg3rq8t341.jpg
You bought a fiero and 2 weeks ago i bought a 1991 toyota mr2. What are you buying next do i know what I'm buying that's similar? 😂
I just got the fiero today. You tell me 🤣 probably another fiero. I like the MR2s
@@MotoCheez I'm thinking some kind of camper van or a 1970's 20 foot Winnebago brave. Maybe a Suzuki samurai or a dodge raider. Just some ideas 😁
@@warrenpeas I have 2 samurais... the micro camper van... hmm, how about an old firebird? I might grab one up in FL I saw
Fiero on steelies I have not seen one in decades. Id keep the duke they are dead simple just a little leaky.
That's why I believe the mileage is on it, the engine doesn't have any leaks The transmission is so clean except for just basic dirt and stuff on top of it. I believe this is all original and the mileage is correct. I did have one guy say that looks like the odometer was rolled but there is an inspection sticker on it from many years ago when it was last registered that shows low mileage
Supercharged 3.8
Lol, was just gonna suggest that. The problem is parts are getting harder to find.
That's what I'm leaning toward
my dream car is an ae86
Those are cool looking cars, flip lights or fixed?
@@MotoCheez pop up lights. Also love the shift boot on them too, would love to find stock us model that was not setup for drifting
@jtraveny Yeah good luck finding one that's not butchered. All them older cars are really pulling some big money now
Looks like Mini was jealous of all the attention the bikes are getting. Little scratch here and there.
Yes! I think you're right
K20 Swap it and you got something
I am looking into that too
Fiero man is a little kooky…
🤣🤣
She quite 😮
😁
Never Trust a Dude in prison shoes
🤣👍 that's right!
K swap it with a Honda engine!!
A lot saying that! Need a donor car to do it cheap
Beep
Meep
I told you how i just sold mt V8 fiero, well I still have a v6 I'm looking to sell.
The stock 2.8 V6?
@@MotoCheez It was a new jasper crate engine for the 86 Fiero that I put a big Isky racing cam and lifters in it, also did mods to the fuel injection so it would run the cam like bigger injectors and polished up the upper and lower intakes. It has the 410 performer trans. The car was fast as hell but the lower end couldn't take it and when it warms up it starts ticking. Took about a year of running it before the crank started to go. Its been parked for a few years now. I was considering buying an aftermarket crank and running it, but would rather have cash to help pay off my new KTM 690 SMCR. I also have a dlx Hawk, lol looks like we play with the same toys. 😁
@darianballard2074 ahh, yeah same toys. When you getting your MINITRUCK? Lol. I'd trade my van for a decent 88 GT 😁
WUT UP #CHEEZY ?
Yoooo
