    Just thought I'd chime in as I bought this yesterday. I am having no issues running it, and the UI is intuitive and straight forward. I'm not even too sure I would even need the manual. I have bought tons of plugins over the years, and this one hands down is the most useful I've ever purchased. While I have a good understand of of chord structure and making chord progressions, I lack the musical chops to put them down effortlessly. This changed that. In 5 min, I put down a complex chord progression with passing chords and secondary dominants to boot. That would have taken me at least an hour or two before.

      @mathiasaudio9570 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Another one like me! Similar situation where I'm not a good keyboard player, and normally if I'm gonna write a progression with advanced techniques in mind I'll write it out by hand before making it digital. If I start with a melody in Ableton, I'll usually just use triads or sevenths to harmonize and then tweak from there to add suspension, create extended chords, etc. This takes hours though because there's no way to test full chords quickly. Glad to see its working for you, and to be honest this may be the most interesting chord tool I've seen. Captain Chords and Scaler are cool, but they seem to operate on the assumption that you're going to export to MIDI at some point.

      @josephjwilk 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just out of curiosity, because I've been on the fence about this for months (and never received a message back from the developer), does this allow you to filter the chords by scale, like Chord-O-Mat 3, or do you need to know in advance which chords fit into the scale of your track? Thanks for any/all time and consideration.

    • @Tyler-mz2sm
      @Tyler-mz2sm 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@josephjwilk my answer would be yes and no. It offers a vast amount of chords, which are separated by key, and then type of chord (Major, Minor, Diminished, Augmented). In each of those, theres dozens of options (like Minor 7 9 chords and such). The second question is a tough one. Does it help to know what chords go in the song you making, yes it does. But, making a progression in this program is so quick and easy that, "just throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks" is a totally viable option. It takes one click to get a new chord, so you can just kinda click till you find what you are looking for. And as far as "knowing what chords fit in the scale" that a very simple search. Whatever the first chord is of the song is a majority of the time the key of the song. So say the first chord is C minor, that song is likely in c minor, and all you need to search on google is C minor scale degrees.

      Tyler, can you help a brother out. I've managed to get it as far as launching in Ableton Live 11, but can't for the life of me work out how to assign the chords to my mac keyboard (asdw) like one would normally use to play any midi instrument in Ableton.

    Purchased it today... I'm totally impressed by the things this device can do! Normally I don't buy M4L in this price range cause I did it before, just to see that developers don't care anymore about their products, no updates and Bugfixes and so on but I trust in you that you hopefully take care about it.
    So far...in love with your device

    • @andrew_nayes
      @andrew_nayes 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, the device is still on version 1.0, so it looks like there's been no updates since its inception. I guess it probably does fit into the category of "developers don't care anymore" then? But the device is functional and fun and inspirational nonetheless.

    Nice work. Love it so far. Does anyone have an idea how to prevent Chordimist from flooding the undo history.
    It is no specific command, that i can hide in the M4L-Editor. Seems to be something with the live.thisdevice "object?", since there is a remark [live.thisdevice seems to be in undo history.
    I have to remove related to window.]
    Removing it will cause the instrument to not scale the presentation properly.
    I think, Leestrument (Lee?) has already tried to avoid this behaviour.

    Can anyone confirm that the MIDI generated from this plugin can be recorded onto another MIDI track receiving the input?

      For anyone wondering - you can, I just tested it myself. Make a new MIDI track and ensure the In-Out section is shown (Ctrl-Alt-I). Where it says "All Ins" select the track with Chordimist on it, when you arm that track and hit record it'll record everything coming out of the Chordimist track, velocity included.

    Edit: Installed it by [right-clicking>Open with Live 11>Save Max Plugin]. But it turns out I'm still pretty dumb. I'm putting it at the beginning of an effect chain followed a midi instrument (such as operator). How do I get it working so that when I play keys on my mac keyboard 'asdw, etc...' it plays the corresponding chords I've assigned in CHORDimist?
    How do I assign any chord to a key on my macbook keyboard is what I'm asking? And then get this to play the midi instrument stacked after the Chordimist plugin.
