    This is such a welcome new workflow feature and one that will most definitely help so many people with songwriting and trying out different ideas so much faster without loosing oneself between changing notes and going too much on a tangent of feeling potentially uninspired. Thank you so much Ableton for designing this so well.

    dunno why but at 1:00 the instructor explains to hold down alt or option and press on a key in the piano roll. On my windows device it is ctrl, not alt. Just in case people were having the same issue

      Yeeeah nope. Push Standalone has got the instruments but pretty much everything else is the same.
      Tethered Push will of course integrate as a controller but I am really disappointed these generators aren't included. It would make P3S a blast to use LIVE.
      Goddam it Ableton, get your product people to work together. Push Standalone not being a first class citizen at a $3k pricetag is ludicrous.
      Zero communication about Live and Push's relationship moving forward. I know Standalone and Live are inherently distinct, but what is the strategy? How should my expectations be set?

    All very impressive, but the feature which I like the most... and which truly made my jaw drop (almost to the floor) is the option to build your own generators using Max for Live. I am personally not a fan of Euclidean _at all_ and even removed it from my system. Not saying it's bad, but... meh: that could have been made in ReJS as well; I'm simply not a fan. Each to their own, ok?
    BUT being able to make this stuff yourself... is *huge* . I currently have a beta project which generats MIDI based on certain keys I press on my Push :P It's far from perfect (or good for that matter) but it does show what crazy things we can now do here. Like generating MIDI on the fly, and then use it during a live performance for example.

    The rhythm generator is cool....but I'm finding it very unintuitive. For instance, you have to be very sure you dont have any notes selected when you switch between, say, Kick and Snare...otherwise they disappear or move to another sound.
    Similarly, if you have a drum pattern with multiple sounds and you go and highlight the notes for the snare....but AHA, the KICK is what's selected in the drop down menu....it all disappears. It takes a lot of getting used to.
    Maybe over time this will make sense and be something that comes naturally... But it seems to me, what would be most helpful is if, when you selected ANY notes, the midi generator parameters on the left controlled THOSE notes you have selected. Same as it works with Quantize.

    • @Jazman342
      @Jazman342 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Totally agree but I think the problem is more to do with this video. It seems to assume you know everything in the first place, in which case why the hell would you even be watching it. I'm new to 12 , having upgraded from 9 which I had not used for years. I'm pretty sure I have found some good instruction videos on TH-cam by other content creators. Seems to me Ableton are about the worst at explaining their own product. I'm sure it will all work well once I understand it but there is no way I'm ever going to do so by watching videos like this one.

      Imagine, hey GPT, make me a house music club dance tune you might hear at drum sheds, scale E Phrygian w/kick anchored at 49hz, 5 minutes, 32 bar intro, 32 bar outro, 2 breakdowns, punchy operator 909 kicks, operator bass, analog dom dolla pads, drift Carl cox stabs, and wave table Chris lake effects. Please create all patches in native Ableton instruments as specified so they can be tweaked later. Please set kick at -12db and adjust other tracks accordingly resulting in a multi track project having -6db headroom for master channel output 😂. I dont see any reason to upgrade . Its not needed to make better music .. ableton upgraded this time its mostly midi with some tricks or automated generators and preset sound browsing upgrade .. if all sounds are already good organised and you avoid 10000 same sound its nothing worth …the visual possibility to mix their 2 screen into one is cool but also .. makes no difference in sound and i do not mind to switch to mixer page if i am mixing .. not better to fill the monitor to see all whats going on also what you dont need … for the price they should bring other things: like be able to (re)program your own shortcuts (!}. and decent analog tube/preamps on input insert channel... i would like mixer Snapshots to be able to listen to several mixes from the same project , Intelligent denoising at recording or sample stem separation, maybe a pioneer like 2 projectsmixermodule build at output in or other more creative stuff for transitions ..decent leveling metering without plugins ... Ableton used to start as a different daw then others and still the best for me bu this midi upgrade that no-one cant play wrong notes anymore ..naah .... maybe the wrong note was the interesting one 🎶😎

But then you always come home to Abletonia, because she gets prettier and smarter as she ages, and she even learned how to bounce just to spice things up in the bedroom where you produce. So please, be a good husband and stay here with Abletonia and your son Max.
