Knowing the deep roots of the blues in Mali, it's touching that Ali Farka Touré had such reverence and respect for John Lee Hooker.

Love this guy. Thanks so much for the interview Amoeba! Saw him live at Band on the Wall in Manchester UK (shoutout to them if they read this) and it was honestly one of the most Electrifying gigs I've had the pleasure to be at. I was sat on the top balcony and the vibes were so good I ended up coming down and dancing near the stage by the end of it ! 🙏

Love how he's calling out his homies from home, and then drops Phil Collins on us.

Love him. Got to take photos of his set at the Pickathon music festival outside of Portland a few years ago and he was fantastic, and really nice when I talked to him afterward.

His father never played a not that wasn't beautiful, and he's not far behind. His story about learning from Toumani Diabate is incredible.

Kids, as you can see, non-hipsters pick mostly CDs because they know they sound superior to vinyl.

Or maybe, it’s because this guy grew up in the 1990’s (albeit in Africa) during the death of Vinyl and the boom in CDs. Some of those albums he picked haven’t been/are rarely repressed on Vinyl.
