John Sheppard that is kind of question you get from someone who has no idea of Ife- Benin Kingdom connection. Instead of asking kindergarten questions and making buffoonery of yourself and not continuing dancing naked in market place, goggle Obalufon. A king who reigned in the 8th centuries before Oduduwa, father of Oranmiyan, father Oba Eweka of Ado in Yoruba language.and deitified Don’t worry, your ignorance of history is not your fault. As a Diaspora Nigerian I understand the damages done. Stop wasting your time on the internet.😀😀😃

John Sheppard for your information I am Edo and Yoruba. My mother Yoruba. I don’t know how old you are, but you have not been reading, it’s obvious from your response. Take time to read, it’s important. I am sure you are scared of what you will find out researching about “ Obalufon”. I understand it makes some of my Edo people sad that the Edo present dynasty is of Yoruba lineage. It was normal for a kingdom with linguistic differences to invite another kingdom that was stable and economically buoyant to rule over them, it not cowardice or dominance as someone like you view it, it was for progress and stability and stronger relationships. That was what happened. No written text or oral history that divorced Ife and Benin. All written text always linked Benin to Ife. The question you should have asked if you are doubtful about Benin- Ife connection, why was it that all Benin Oba from Eweka were buried in Ife? That’s history for you and nothing we can do about it but celebrate ourselves.

John Sheppard You are emotional and logical but in last statement you said “ Us Edo you keep copying “,Is that not sentimental and emotional? Probably you don’t know what it means. And for being logical: In this type of history logic is not needed but archeological evidence, anthropological evidence and linguistics evidence are needed here, not logic. Saying that I am Edo, which is true anyway, was to connect with your mentality which I have observed. When putting up contrary opinion with someone you have not met or seeing on social media you have to be coherent and factual.
