>buys 52 card decks to fill up on a trick to fool my friend >trick begin to go well, they look amazed >I dropped all of the cards, >they were not impressed
I checked the resolution because of that. Then I thought, whoever filmed this missed the focus. But at the same time I wondered why was the table in focus if it was in the same plane? Weird... Then I found out...
The pledge, the turn and the prestige are the acts to performing a magic trick. What this video presents is different ways the illusion is constructed. Different subjects.
If you intend to allow your audience to hold the deck, typically you'd just force the card they choose instead of having a loaded deck. You throw it back in to the middle after they pick, do a pinky break, since they cant see it, utilize that to perform the shuffle, boom the card they picked is on top and the trick works. He taught this trick to us like this, because it's MUCH easier to use a loaded deck than trying to teach sleight of hand tricks.
This whole video is an illusion, this video isn't real, your world isn't real. We want you back, you are in a coma, please wake up, it has been 84 years. We miss you.
Yeah I thought the writing looked like it had been written with a much smaller pen and then scaled up, I was pretty puzzled until the end. I am sure smarter people worked it out ha ha.
Zanzubaa1 I didn't bother working it out. I noticed three things though - he was always out of focus, the text looked unnatural on the board, and at 1:22 you can see the pack of cards bouncing up and down. Also the table edge was waay too black to be real. Tbh they were pretty shoddy illusory effects.
The only break to the code would be to buy someone else's trick (yes magicians sell their tricks/effects) to learn how it is done and then reveal it to everyone. Tricks are revealed all the time. The best magicians can trip people up who know how the trick is done as they are masters of misdirection, sleight of hand, etc.
matthew hurley meh, he showed basic stuff, I liked the video and I'm a magician myself. I can still trick anyone who sees this vid so I don't think he comitted a crine
I don't think having the video blurry the entire time was worth the reveal lol but not bad. Need more guys like this informing the public how trickery works
I'm a magician myself and I have formed my channel back in 2008 to host various magic illusions. Unfortunatelly my best friend died back then so I only uploaded 1 video and forgot about growing my channel. I'm happy to see people eager to both learn and pass the knowledge of illusion.
That’s a bit silly you didn’t notice. You can clearly see that the camera is focused on the easel and table much sharply than him. He has a kind of grainy, smudged look to him.
Now you're looking for the secret... but you won't find it, because of course you're not really looking. You don't really want to know. You want to be fooled.
That's like saying more comedians should tell people jokes they haven't used so they can go tell the jokes to impress their friends. That would lead to an over saturation of bad comedians and bad jokes, just like if everyone was trying to be a magician there'd to be too many bad tricks.
Every great magic trick consists of three parts or acts. The first part is called "The Pledge". The magician shows you something ordinary: a deck of cards, a bird or a man. He shows you this object. Perhaps he asks you to inspect it to see if it is indeed real, unaltered, normal. But of course... it probably isn't. The second act is called "The Turn". The magician takes the ordinary something and makes it do something extraordinary. Now you're looking for the secret... but you won't find it, because of course you're not really looking. You don't really want to know. You want to be fooled. But you wouldn't clap yet. Because making something disappear isn't enough; you have to bring it back. That's why every magic trick has a third act, the hardest part, the part we call "The Prestige"."
This is more appropriate content for TED than most, if not all, magicians and mentalists who appear on that show merely performing their magic and illusions without explaining the theories or philosophies behind them.

It was so easy to tell the writing on the notepad was fake but i was surprised about everything else being in different places, other than the glass because it was clearly super sharp and in focus where as the other things on the table were quite soft
When i started watching the video, i thought that something was wrong about the focus. At the end i totally forgot, but when he showed the glass, i understood what was wrong with the focus.
I had a a feeling about the ending because it seemed VERY low quality. I actually checked the quality of the video a couple times because it seemed grainy and now it makes sense.
Yes I did notice. The writing looked more like a skinny marker made it, not what would need to be used in order to make it the size it appeared on the pad of paper. And the tiny glass...one, the water level looked off for "sitting on the flat table". Two, his distorted image was seen in the middle of the glass which means he was behind the glass and not beside it as he wanted you to believe.

You need 49.... since there others are dummy cards that can be taken from the 49 decks you bought....
Or... you can just learn the ambitious card routine and move the selected card to the top by manipulation. :p
