HQ-9 has a speed of Mach 4.2 which might not be enough to intercept supersonic cruise missiles.
While this under development Pakistani SAM system will be able to intercept supersonic missiles. 100 km range is pretty decent if we consider the area of Pakistan.
With this system Pakistan shall be able to protect it's airbases and key military installations from cruise missile strikes.
But that's just the beginning. After developing this one an improved variant should be developed to intercept hypersonic cruise missiles and then the anti-ballistic missiles should be developed but that journey will surely take decades.
Long Live Pakistan.

We would have been much better in SAMs if we have not discontinued our KRL Anza Series SAM in favor of imported FN-6. Anza Mk3 was on drawing board even in 1990s when there was no Turkish Defense Industry. Today its world's 12th Defense Exporter and our supplier.

i think system will be based on LY80 not FD2000. Ly80 already has extended range so may be pakistani version will be till 100 km... hq9 fd2000 already has range between 125 to 250km
