Hey Everyone, The Iron farm is 100% Java specific k Everything else should be cross platform
It doesn’t work on Xbox
If u want bedrock iron farm put 20 villagers 20 workstation and make sure the villagers u put are villagers that are breeders or else only cats will spawn . If even cats are not spawning then the cats maybe/maybe not iron golems are also spawning there . Dig down 7 blocks and make platform of where u need villagers and four blocks down from above where u want hopper and chest . I say make the farm 13 height and also wodth
hi
F
Jesus I wish I would have read this 20 minutes ago before I destroyed the entire Village
I don't think I would have thought about letting the iron just drop on the ground like that. That's a good idea for the start of an iron farm.
Yeah, it's really clever!
For the iron farm I would raise the fences higher because I afk-ed for like 2 hours and realized an iron golem got out and stopped the farm from working. And I would also expand the slabs above the zombie out by one all the way around to keep iron golems from killing it.(I know ideally you shouldn't have to worry about it but just in case.) Either way, this video was very helpful :)
I'd recommend building the ianxofour's day 1 iron farm over this.
Thanks man! I just finished an iron farm exactly as you built yours. Works like a charm!
Nice, the breeder might be useful when you need also villagers for a farm, you can build it and then easily remove it.
Subbed. Question - how many times did you restart this seed to make this video? You seem to have this village down like the back of your hand, plus knowing where to gather the berries used at the end, etc. Guessing you started in creative to get the wood and stone tools because your stone tools have no wear on them, and you already had 19 torches and 34 bread so you would have had to find 5 coal and dispose of 1 torch or make a furnace and make charcoal. And farm enough wheat to make 34 bread. Still an amazing video. This is officially my favorite early stage video by far. If you didn't have berries, etc., just dig a block down and 3-4 blocks out, and make a 2x2 water source and make flowing water to wash anything that gets near so they cannot get past the flowing water. Better yet, an early stage xp farm.
1) you don't waste a ton of time. Many content creators take 5 minutes of info and make a 15 minute video. You cut to the chase from the word go!
2) I had a bedrock game with tons of time that crashed, and the saved games deleted in the uninstall (no, I didn't do a reset). So, I switched to Java and in my new world, I created my temporary base next to a village (imagine that...pre-planned).
I never saw such a simple iron farm. 3 villager farm, yes, but just a handful of dirt and fence...so simple.
These will be my next projects, mainly, the iron farm first. I already found plenty of lava. But I've been in game probably 15 game days with plenty of exploring down in the -30 to -60 range, and not a single diamond yet.
Thanks for the great and relatively simple early game farms. This crop farm setup did not want to work in Bedrock. If you left the rail under the cart, the villagers would not trade. If you removed the rail, the villagers would bump the hopper cart and break the line of sight, and the farm stopped working. I eventually just put rails and hopper carts underground to collect the excess crops. Also, I never knew putting a block over the composter would stop them from dumping excess. I did this by mistake I guess because after the farm broke, they just dumped the excess on the ground. Looking forward to other videos when I have time to watch.
I think I've found my favorite iron farm design. I usually don't like incorporating zombie designs as I am averse to luring hostile mobs into complex contraptions, among other objections. But iron's pretty important and this design is compact and easy to start. 😄
What's wrong with luring mobs?
@@sequence1217 It's just annoying, probably
Wow, this was incredibly helpful, thanks! There are _way_ too many farm tutorials out there just showing how they build their special version of a farm (in creative mode!) without explaining anything and not even showing how the farm works. So you don't know what you can leave out or replace.
I mean, I still miss some explanations, but at least you are showing the simple forms _and_ also some things that could go wrong when building the farm.
I liked your video. The one thing I would offer as a suggestion would be to discuss the mechanics which allow them to work. That way should a player need to modify the application of the farm they will know what aspects are key to getting it to work.
I struggled with this a bit. Golem kept spawning outside of platform. I tried to set up signs to use lava, and accidentally created a lava flow over villagers. They survived, but it would have been terrifying for them. lol But even when I got it all as in the video, the golem would still sometimes spawn on the slabs over the zombie. I finally made extra signs and put them on top of those slabs. It worked, no more errant spawning outside of the kill box.
its because they fixed that mobs cant spawn on slabs the footage is a few months old on his version it worked like it should now just place torches above or signs whatever the player wants
@@marcrieger5640no they can’t spawn on bottom slabs, the person must have used top half slabs on accident
my golem wont spawn only...just 1 spawned then it stopped
@@clubsign36 your villagers don't sleep, maybe. Check your trapdoors and the hight of the slaps. You need to break eyesight from the zombie, so they can sleep in their beds. If they don't sleep, no golem will spawn.
@@clubsign36you can set up a sticky piston with a glass block over your zombie (so it "suffocates" the zombie) that activates for a second every now and again; that'll give your villagers a chance to sleep.
Don't worry; the zombie won't actually suffocate in the glass block; he'll just lose eyesight of the villagers.
Incredible 🎉 thank you!!
I think I'm crying. It's that elegant.
I built this and it works great! Thank you! I have a question though. If I expand the killing platform to cover the entire spawning area will I get better rates or will it break things?
Question: If the village doesn't have any pre-build crop farms in it, do I just build one for the villager breeder? Copying the design that you show?
My village had 2 golems. I figured I'd wait to kill them once everything was set but the zombies. By then, only one was around and I couldn't find the other. I dispatched the single golem, got my zombies and sure enough got a golem spawn in the right spot. He croaked. I wander off, get busy, look over and am too late to save my zombies from golem #2 who came from wherever he'd gone. LOL
"Fresh" golems may have spawned, too. I'd fence off all farms where you don't want golems and spawn-proof all surfaces within.
I can see I’m Gona have to watch and build at the same time. Thanks for taking the time to show us these farms.
Worked perfectly in Java. On a server. Thank you.
bro.. the villager on the bed that's above the trapdoor always comes out after sleeping instead of going inside the little trapdoor cage.
FOR ONCE SOMEONE SHOWS THE IRON FARM YOU NEED TO MAKE THE IRON FARM (everyone else wants like 9 hoppers for their "starter iron farm") and thank you for this AMAZING VIDEO
have you tried, like, mining or something? in a game where half of the name stands for "mine"
@@engineergaming2032 i swear its easier to find diamond than iron
Ha ha! I wish I had Keegan’s sort of “bad” luck.
@@kilroym1a1 It is if you're looking in the wrong spot.
@@kilroym1a1 when you're aiming to find diamonds, iron is common. When iron is your goal other ores are more common
Ok. So I'm 43 and started my first minecraft world today. I've watched 100s of hours of minecraft videos over the years qnd still for the life of me can't understand how you figure stuff like this out. PS I still have no clue what you did lol
Just here to support Chapman
villager breeder has never once worked for me. followed it exactly not sure whats happening
Underrated channel
Iron farm is Java specific right, but nice tutorial. Definitly gotta try reaching this in D1
Hi, thanks for the video! I just wanted to ask I followed it step by step but my farmer in the crop farm design isn't giving his crops to the other villager. I'm not sure why not, I'm playing 1.20.4 Java on Realms.
Tooka little tweaking, (need to double check the counting, of those spaces from the centre tile/trap door) but I have, after all these years, made a functioning iron farm :) thanks for the hints and tips. these are excellent and easy farms, EXACTLY what someone making a new world needs, rather than the resource intensive ones you see banded about a lot. Thank you so much for sharing these.
Will you make a simple, bedrock specific iron farm? I love how simple and day 1 this is
In Bedrock definitely not day1
in bedorck you need 20 villagers
@@marky9441 Another reason to hate bedrock
damn bro the iron farm took me a minute to get ironed out (I gotta say that pun was not intended, lol) But now that she's going strong it's like Iron is easier to get than dirt! This is insane! You're a legend
does this also apply for other versions like 1.16.5? I dont like having to dig so deep for diamonds.
just a small tip instead of using signs use 5 trapdoors to create a lava spot in the middle 4 trapdoors around a temporary block in the middle and one from below maybe a bit easier to place for survival and its lowers the cost of this great day 1 farm even more ty chap for this small jewel :)
But trapdoors burn due to lava unlike signs
@@alone_walker7135 nope they dont lava is in the spot the trapdoors are around the block i use this in chicken farms in iron farms etc never one of them started burning
@@alone_walker7135 and before u ask or say i used nether wood no i dont i use normal oak wood trapdoors just to make this clear its doable with any type of wood
Thank you
i had superior versions of every farm but the crop farm, now i have a crop farm
My crop farm doesn’t work because every time he tries to trade with the other villager he can’t and starts bouncing. How do you fix that?
can there be a cave below the iron farm? if so, how far below does it need to be?
can't place beds like 2:26 in bedrock as of today, unless i'm doing it wrong. tried with shift and without
what a wonderful video. easy to understand ^_^
but I wonder to know why my F3 is different than yours. May i know what kind of mod is it?
Only thing different is it's zoomed in, perhaps it's just different Minecraft versions having slightly different F3 menus
how was it night and be day 1 after you finish the iron farm
I got to ask, how does your game time go so slow? Trying to set up my own farm, I had a fresh world started, night time hit me in less than 10 minutes. It seems exaggerated but I promise it's not.
I have just built the iron and villager breeder, but it turns out that my village doesn’t have a second crop thing.I think I will make my own
Whats with the underground villager? When/why/how did that come about?
Chapman Farms...an unintentional Cormoran Strike reference before the latest book came out this year. Nice.
How do you get the villagers to fall down the hole in the breeder? Mine just fills up with villagers.
beds
I built a village farm for another video and I’m using wheat that’s why my farm is so slow (the guy in the other use carrot but I didn’t know there was a difference)
If the cubes sides are 8 blocks away from the center, the cube would be 17 wide, so the area of the cube would be 17x 17 instead of 8x8
Thank you, I was thinking something was off
Holy dude I get more then 1 baby villagers a day. Thank you so much this is so helpful
I'm having some trouble with the iron farm, sometimes the golem will get stuck under the blocks and works fine however occasionally it will spawn on top of the fence and i'm not sure how to fix it, any help is appreciated thanks
Expand the water are until the golem cant spawn on the sides. YOu could also use string on the top of the posts, that should prevent spawning.
How much iron does that iron farm produce per hour?
Iron farm worked great, right up until dawn.... How do you keep the z from combusting?
a couple bottom half slabs over his head
@@Chapman_Farms Thanks. It finally dawned on me as I was building a cage around the zombie to protect from wayward golems. Definitely a "duh" moment.
Great video.
At times? You sure?
can you make a village from scratch??
How does the trap door in the villager farm between the beds and fenced area work? Like how does only one fall through the trap door but not the other two ?
I think the other trap door above the drop makes the path to the beds too low for the adults to walk through, only the baby will fit, so he falls in the hole.
@susieoneil5706 oh I see I assumed they needed to sleep in order to breed. Why does he put 3 beds in the fenced area then? Also does that bed in the ground even get used ?
@@abstercool5622 There are 3 beds because each parent needs one available and then a spare for the baby. If there is no bed for him, they won't produce a baby. They don't need to actually sleep, but their need to sleep will cause them to walk towards the beds and fall in the hole. The bed underground would be a spare, so the next baby can come along, while the previous one is waiting to be moved.
Can't get the signs to work for the lava not sure what I am doing wrong
Can you combine the villager farm and the crop farm? Make the beds on one side and make the hopper mine cart on another side with 2 farmers inside a 9x9 farm?
Probably, but neither of the farms would be efficient, because the farmer would have to use crops to breed, but also to give to the other villager (so they can fall down the minecart hoppers)
I need help, I’m on xbox and I can’t get iron golems to spawn with any farm I make
I love the idea, I don't think it's a day one possibility however.
you didn't actually do it on day one, as you needed night to come for the zombies unless you find a cave with a zombie near by, also the material time gathering doesn't seem possible as well as building the farm in that time.
Another thing, which I'm questioning is, if your building those farms that close together, can't the iron golem be spawned by any villagers within the "village boundaries" which would be larger than the spawn platform given the villagers outside the iron farm within 128 blocks?
I'm not.saying this isn't necessarily possible with perfect conditions, but there were some key points that it couldn't have been day 1.
All in all solid way to get started very early though.
U start on day 0 in minecraft
how do i get the villagers out of the breeder?
I plan on doing this iron one tonight. On day 500 of my world 😊
Will it run on 1.16 ?
3.28 you could speed things up by ringing the bell instead of waiting to night
I cannot place the torch on top of the trapdoor, is that necessary?! any other alternatives? or why is it not working?
Maybe try pressing shift when placing? It's been a while since I last played MC and I'm an eternal noob, but I think shift was for placing stuff on objects that normally activate with right-click.
Once I put the lava in, the golems stopped spawning (1.19.2)
Damm good
Your accent is so cool ! 😂 which region is it from?
Iron Farm Tip. The gollum can jump the single fence, just make the fence 2 high
Thank you so much this will come in handy soon
I just cannot get the iron farm I don't know if it works or console
You keep saying smday 1 but it's clearly the second day.
Can you do this before the first night?
can i make my own Farm for the villager breeder?
hey i am having an issue golems are spawning outside the farm did exact what u did
maybe hoe more places and place torches
Work in java ?
I cant for the life of me replicate how you placed the signs for the lava addition to the iron farm.
This is almost rocket science.
why no wheat for the auto farm? thought it would be useful first crop for animal breeding
Pretty sure it's because the farmer's inventory will become full of seeds and they won't be able to pick up food anymore. The other crops you don't have to worry about it because the food item is also the seed.
it is because villagers can't trade wheat, only bread.
@@Felawnie Oh! So that's why back when I last tried it the effectivity dropped, I had mixed crops farm with wheat too. Damn. Thanks for explanation.
IM MAKING THIS IRON FARM!
Does anyone know if the iron farm still work? and do you need to build it far from a village?
You need to build it quite close to the village to lure the villagers in but on a flat enough space you can have those path blocks
Does this work in ps4 minecraft
For some reason, my iron farm only works at night, what am I doing wrong?
i have the same prob i'm wondering too :)
Is breeder function on 1.20.4? Im looking to my viligers 4 days and nothing happened. 🤣 java edition
Is it available on bedrock
Anyone know how to put a torch on a trapdoor it just opens for me
Edit: figured it out just crouch place
do i ahve to build all of this near a village?
Will be easier
my villagers arent breeding? fix: replaced the beds and its not working
He said one day but at 5:30 it was night time and then day again?
Bro sounds like Metatron the scribe of god from supernatural
Omg only completed the iron farm after 5 in game days 🤪🤪
I struggle a bit with these farms, the initial materials alone would take a whole day.
do there have to be 3 villagers because i only got 2 and the golems arent spawning
Yes,for them to be categorized as a "village" and to be able to spawn golems they need to be at least 3
thanks buddy

Does it works iron farm in bedrock edition
no
Subscribed...dude, you should send me money for the number of people I've sent to this video. People keep thinking you need a massive iron farm to be successful, but once I build this day 1 iron farm, I let it run 24 hours a day for 2-3 days, and now I have a double chest full of stacks of iron, and two double chests at the farm itself with iron rotting on top of the platform because I can't use it fast enough. I have several stacks of 64 for emeralds, and use all my iron for trading with villagers to XP. I have 2 full suits of diamond armor, all diamond weapons and tools, everything fully enchanted including mending on everything, including a bow, plus one bow with infinity, just because. This replaced my XP farm, and it was all from iron from this little day 1 farm. I broke the crop farm, but never had to rebuild it as I don't need crop XP, so I just use wheat to breed cattle to get leather to make books for enchanting, and more steak meat than I can use so nothing else needs to be eaten. This little day 1 farm made my new world so much better than anything I've the past. The only change I'd make is to build walls around the zombie. People are going to end up building double chests and adding hoppers for collection, and one little mistake and a golem will spawn and reach the ground and quickly kill your zombie. I'm an idiot so I did this 3 times before I built out the area around with zombie with 2 high fence and 2 open spaces in front so the villagers could see the zombie, but when I screwed up a 4th time, the golem could not reach the zombie and I haven't had to replace the zombie since. I'd rather spend a couple more minutes building out protection for the zombie than have to replace him a few times. That may not have fit in the 20 minute 1 day time limit, but if you remake this video, that's something to consider. Thanks again for the simple, amazing, and effective builds.
the breeder doesnt work for me and the golems in the iron farm sometimes spawn out of their cage and kill the zombie
They spawn on any top block, The torch above the trap door is important and if you still have dirt as the killing mechanism... Turn them into path blocks. Golem may be spawning up top
oh ye i didnt see the torch and it works now and when i added the lava it works perfectly but the breeder still doesnt work
@@PolishOlaf_ Original Villagers probably have their inventory full of Wheat or Bread! only reason they wont pass items back and forth and breed.
Try breeding a pair by hand (throw them crops) Then get rid of the farmer first with a fresh villager...
Why don't you make your own beds in minecraft?
how to put a torch on a trapdoor?
try crouching
Took a few MC days to get the Golems to stop spawning off of the spawning platform and killing the zombie....
What is the seed of this world?
i am playing in 1.20.4, the iron farm works but just for like 2 minutes and then the iron golems stop spawning
hi what is the Texture Pack !!??
It's regular textures
whatever i did the iron golem did not work the iron golems fept spawning outside there area
I'm in java and my signs keep catching on fire
day 1 as in 2hours it took 2 hours!!!!! to build the iron farm
that took like 2 or 3 days
