Wow, this was incredibly helpful, thanks! There are _way_ too many farm tutorials out there just showing how they build their special version of a farm (in creative mode!) without explaining anything and not even showing how the farm works. So you don't know what you can leave out or replace. I mean, I still miss some explanations, but at least you are showing the simple forms _and_ also some things that could go wrong when building the farm.
I struggled with this a bit. Golem kept spawning outside of platform. I tried to set up signs to use lava, and accidentally created a lava flow over villagers. They survived, but it would have been terrifying for them. lol But even when I got it all as in the video, the golem would still sometimes spawn on the slabs over the zombie. I finally made extra signs and put them on top of those slabs. It worked, no more errant spawning outside of the kill box.
its because they fixed that mobs cant spawn on slabs the footage is a few months old on his version it worked like it should now just place torches above or signs whatever the player wants
@@clubsign36 your villagers don't sleep, maybe. Check your trapdoors and the hight of the slaps. You need to break eyesight from the zombie, so they can sleep in their beds. If they don't sleep, no golem will spawn.

My village had 2 golems. I figured I'd wait to kill them once everything was set but the zombies. By then, only one was around and I couldn't find the other. I dispatched the single golem, got my zombies and sure enough got a golem spawn in the right spot. He croaked. I wander off, get busy, look over and am too late to save my zombies from golem #2 who came from wherever he'd gone. LOL
Subbed. Question - how many times did you restart this seed to make this video? You seem to have this village down like the back of your hand, plus knowing where to gather the berries used at the end, etc. Guessing you started in creative to get the wood and stone tools because your stone tools have no wear on them, and you already had 19 torches and 34 bread so you would have had to find 5 coal and dispose of 1 torch or make a furnace and make charcoal. And farm enough wheat to make 34 bread. Still an amazing video. This is officially my favorite early stage video by far. If you didn't have berries, etc., just dig a block down and 3-4 blocks out, and make a 2x2 water source and make flowing water to wash anything that gets near so they cannot get past the flowing water. I already found plenty of lava. But I've been in game probably 15 game days with plenty of exploring down in the -30 to -60 range, and not a single diamond yet. Thanks for the great and relatively simple early game farms. This crop farm setup did not want to work in Bedrock. If you left the rail under the cart, the villagers would not trade. I eventually just put rails and hopper carts underground to collect the excess crops. Also, I never knew putting a block over the composter would stop them from dumping excess. I did this by mistake I guess because after the farm broke, they just dumped the excess on the ground. Looking forward to other videos when I have time to watch.

How does the trap door in the villager farm between the beds and fenced area work? Like how does only one fall through the trap door but not the other two ?
I think the other trap door above the drop makes the path to the beds too low for the adults to walk through, only the baby will fit, so he falls in the hole.
@susieoneil5706 oh I see I assumed they needed to sleep in order to breed. Why does he put 3 beds in the fenced area then? Also does that bed in the ground even get used ?
@@abstercool5622 There are 3 beds because each parent needs one available and then a spare for the baby. If there is no bed for him, they won't produce a baby. They don't need to actually sleep, but their need to sleep will cause them to walk towards the beds and fall in the hole. The bed underground would be a spare, so the next baby can come along, while the previous one is waiting to be moved.

@@aszkibasz Original Villagers probably have their inventory full of Wheat or Bread! only reason they wont pass items back and forth and breed. Try breeding a pair by hand (throw them crops) Then get rid of the farmer first with a fresh villager...
The villagers have to be able to sleep, in between getting scared... So placement of slabs/trapdoors/glass is tricky. They gotta see the zombie and also not see him...the bouncing in water does that...
This farm was working great.... until I got enough Iron for hoppers. I put them in place like in video but now the Golem stopped spawning.... I'm not sure what happened.

Btuh those signs placement is foooking my brain 🤯
Iron Farm Tip. The gollum can jump the single fence, just make the fence 2 high
hey i am having an issue golems are spawning outside the farm did exact what u did
maybe hoe more places and place torches
Tooka little tweaking, (need to double check the counting, of those spaces from the centre tile/trap door) but I have, after all these years, made a functioning iron farm :) thanks for the hints and tips. these are excellent and easy farms, EXACTLY what someone making a new world needs, rather than the resource intensive ones you see banded about a lot. Thank you so much for sharing these.
Whats with the underground villager? When/why/how did that come about?
I'm having some trouble with the iron farm, sometimes the golem will get stuck under the blocks and works fine however occasionally it will spawn on top of the fence and i'm not sure how to fix it, any help is appreciated thanks
Expand the water are until the golem cant spawn on the sides. YOu could also use string on the top of the posts, that should prevent spawning.
I have just built the iron and villager breeder, but it turns out that my village doesn’t have a second crop thing.I think I will make my own
Thank you
how was it night and be day 1 after you finish the iron farm
I plan on doing this iron one tonight. On day 500 of my world 😊
Once I put the lava in, the golems stopped spawning (1.19.2)
Great video.
At times? You sure?
3.28 you could speed things up by ringing the bell instead of waiting to night
Anyone know how to put a torch on a trapdoor it just opens for me
Edit: figured it out just crouch place
Does anyone know if the iron farm still work? and do you need to build it far from a village?
You need to build it quite close to the village to lure the villagers in but on a flat enough space you can have those path blocks
the breeder doesnt work for me and the golems in the iron farm sometimes spawn out of their cage and kill the zombie
They spawn on any top block, The torch above the trap door is important and if you still have dirt as the killing mechanism... Turn them into path blocks. Golem may be spawning up top
oh ye i didnt see the torch and it works now and when i added the lava it works perfectly but the breeder still doesnt work
@@aszkibasz Original Villagers probably have their inventory full of Wheat or Bread! only reason they wont pass items back and forth and breed.
Try breeding a pair by hand (throw them crops) Then get rid of the farmer first with a fresh villager...
1:42 jokes on you, I trapped them under the well of the village
Thank you so much this will come in handy soon
If the cubes sides are 8 blocks away from the center, the cube would be 17 wide, so the area of the cube would be 17x 17 instead of 8x8
Thank you, I was thinking something was off
can i make my own Farm for the villager breeder?
Bro sounds like Metatron the scribe of god from supernatural
do i ahve to build all of this near a village?
Will be easier
He said one day but at 5:30 it was night time and then day again?
I need help, I’m on xbox and I can’t get iron golems to spawn with any farm I make
do there have to be 3 villagers because i only got 2 and the golems arent spawning
Yes,for them to be categorized as a "village" and to be able to spawn golems they need to be at least 3
thanks buddy

tahnk you@@mitersro

with the iron golem farm after like 20 min they have stopped spawning. does anyone know why this might be happening?
The villagers have to be able to sleep, in between getting scared...
So placement of slabs/trapdoors/glass is tricky.
They gotta see the zombie and also not see him...the bouncing in water does that...
Can't get the signs to work for the lava not sure what I am doing wrong
Will it run on 1.16 ?
Does it works iron farm in bedrock edition
no
i am playing in 1.20.4, the iron farm works but just for like 2 minutes and then the iron golems stop spawning
How much iron does that iron farm produce per hour?
The iron farm could also contain a husk because the husk is not vulnerable to sunlight
Is breeder function on 1.20.4? Im looking to my viligers 4 days and nothing happened. 🤣 java edition
Work in java ?
Does this work in ps4 minecraft
how to put a torch on a trapdoor?
try crouching
my villagers arent breeding? fix: replaced the beds and its not working
You keep saying smday 1 but it's clearly the second day.
Can you do this before the first night?
Is it available on bedrock
Took a few MC days to get the Golems to stop spawning off of the spawning platform and killing the zombie....
how do i get the villagers out of the breeder?
This farm was working great.... until I got enough Iron for hoppers. I put them in place like in video but now the Golem stopped spawning.... I'm not sure what happened.
I removed and re-added the hoppers again a little bit later to get it working~ Thanks
I also removed the water at the villagers feet- for it to work again. And since its fine now, I dont quite understand what the water is for.... ? Anyone know?
i guess the villagers need to jump idk@@GamersInHellOnYt
@@GamersInHellOnYt I don't really know much about farms but my best guess is so it will cause the villagers to panic when seeing the zombie more because of the one trapdoor that's raised
This is almost rocket science.
hi what is the Texture Pack !!??
It's regular textures
I just cannot get the iron farm I don't know if it works or console
