Just returned my QHora-301w for the raisons you just mentioned (too bad didn't saw your review before my purchase). With no DHCP / DNS / DDNS configuration panel, with no 3G/4G Dongle support, I don"t get the target of this device ? it's very expensive (350 euros) with no access to very basic yet bare minimum features you can get in a 50 bucks router today. Non experimented users ? they wont pay that much "just" for a router.... experimented users, they want to have acces to advanced configurations that it's not available here..... imagine that you can't actually change your Network address with this FW version...... Synology RT routers are miles ahead and cheaper ( but not perfect tho)....

a standard mode and advanced mode makes sense. so people that don't care about advance features do not have to see the ui menus populated with them, unless they manually toggle on advanced mode.
i felt that the vlan capability on this device was an essential feature, at least for me. because i want to be able to separate out iots from the private network using vlan.

Disagree about the lack of virtual network switch I was not able to get these working on my NAS and now cannot get rid of the corrupt config and I have 20 years experience in data networking.
Like the new router as I have an unmanaged Netgear switch with 2 x 10gb ports and 8 x 1gb ports, as I am home working I'm interested in mesh backup & load sharing over 2 x broadband links from different IPS's. My NAS server has a 10gb NIC in the expansion slot and my PC also has a 10gb port so if connected in a loop then the two broadband can be connected to 2 of the QHora router 1GB ports with load sharing and backup using VLANS and VPN connections.

I heard you saying you want to show how it works in access point setup - would appreciate if you could show in combination with an AVM fritz box router.

Those wifi speeds are terrible..... And I'm impressed that months after it's release, it still does not support jumbo frames on the LAN ports. Such a basic thing....

Looks much cleaner software than the traditional Qnap NAS software. A bit expensive, but probably the best all in one solution out there with wifi6 and 10GB LAN. Personally I still prefer to assemble a 10GB network with a router, switch and separated wifi AP, but I agree for all in one 10GB solution with wifi6 for home users or SMBs this is one of the best solutions out there at the moment. ( still would like to see WIFI6 tests with iperf3 to see what is the real wifi6 speeds over wifi on several distances and over one or two walls )

The software design is not that good (FW: 1.4.3.0001). Compare to my old ASUS AC66U
1: the custom DNS setting for DHCP mode, is in the Port Definition, why something related to WAN put to Port section? (WAN & LAN sections are only info display...)
2: 5G is not 80/160, can only get 80 OR 160Mhz, and iPhone can't connect if set to 160
3: Router's MAC address can not be changed.
4: The USB port only for FTP
The coverage is much more better than ac66u, and no external antennas

Any idea if it support port-mirroring / SPAN? I'm assuming no, as the interface looks pretty basic.

I will be getting this back in the studio soon, so will look into this. However, in the meantime you can use the following resources. 1) the slides from their own presentations on the product - live.qnap.com/en/slide/download/b5fdcbc8433599b014639a4cc08313b9 , Then there is the software specifications (which seem a little trimmed) - www.qnap.com/en-uk/product/qhora-301w/specs/software . Hope these help dude

Does anyone know if you can use the QNAP USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C to 5GbE RJ45 Single Port Adapter (QNA-UC5G1T) on the usb ports to add 5GbE connections?
