    Have one for about 13 years. Lots of fun and the grandkids love it. Just in the process again of working on it. Replacing the pop bumpers and such. Love it.

    Literally just finished watching TNT’s video on a home Fireball repair before you posted this, very cool.

    That sound board was still pretty good for 78 technology.
    They didn't cheap out on these machines like they do now.

      Yeah there is a definite difference. Just down to even the weight of it, nothing would be anything like this anymore. The whole thing would be plastic....

    Great video. I am about to purchase the Fireball home version of this shopped out so it looks good enough fun to own for the price I'm paying. Only difference is single flippers on both sides of the one I'm buying. Thanks for uploading this video!

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      To be honest the single flippers are more fun, the ones that have doubles it's a neat idea but it's easier to lose the ball between the two flippers.

      I have the fireball home, all original and working in mint condition with a little buzzing from power supply, but the old guy still ticking. Looks to be a Heath Kit, which I remember advertised back in the day. Great video Ron!!!

    Have a question for you. I have an EK full size with one back glass socket (jumping motorcycle) that doesn’t work. I put in a new socket and reflowed solder. Still nothing. Any idea where the fault might be? Thank you!

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I can't remember 100%, but doesn't that one turn on and off, or is it supposed to be always on? There's two types of lights in the game, ones that are always on and straight wired to the power supply... and ones that the lamp board turns on and off when it wants to. That one may blink, to make it look like he's jumping. If that's how it is, your problem is going to be the wiring from the lamp board making a bad connection, or the transistor on the lamp board not working.

    • @metaljustice4518
      @metaljustice4518 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Joe's Classic Video Games Aweeome! It is the jumping bike that flashes in and off. New Altek board, so I’ll trace the wiring and go from there ! Thank you for the tips!

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Eric right where the wiring plugs into the altek board (I assume you mean the lamp driver, not the altek MPU) the pins inside those plugs get corrosion on them or sometimes they'll break in half. If you look at the color of the wire that goes to that socket, then find that same wire where it plugs into the lamp driver board that will probably be where your problem is.

    Interesting that it could stack extra balls. Commercial versions didn't even do that!

      I'm not positive that it can, I think I was just tricked by the light bleeding over from the other insert.

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      if it works that's probably about what it's worth, maybe a little more. If the board doesn't work though they can be expensive to repair.

    We have one of these, and the logic board seems brain dead other than test mode, the right drain score, the right Pow spinner, and sometimes the right side 50-point switch.

      It's good to know that someone has finally created new replacement boards for the Bally Home Models. Although mine works great for now, I'm still going to order anither logic board, for the future of maintaining my pin.
      Thanks for this valuable info.
      I have a Fireball home model.
      I've shopped it out, changed capacitors and also had my friend upgrade my voltage regulator, which I highly recommend being done to these Bally Home Models.
      Again, thanks for the info about the Flippers website that has new replacement logic boards.
